Ran an easy 3, I'm still pretty out of shape. Today was the beginning of the end of my high school running career. My goals for track: Get back down to my stellar 142 pound, 5.9 body fat % body form (right now I weigh like 160). Break 2.10 in the 800 and break 5 minutes in the 1600. This is going to be hard because I haven't put in the work like I did for cross country.

I ran out to the flag football field up by the city offices. I played football with some friends for about 2 hours then ran home. On my home I stopped by the New St. George Running Center to check it out. I love the new location, right by my house.

I really struggled at the beginning of this 9 miler in the desert above Middleton. I was having some aches and pains I haven't had in a long time. I kept talking myself through it though and managed to get by. It was nice to run with Coach, Dan, Ausin, and Kimz.

My Lake to Lake team consisted of Ross Decker(Ex-DSC coach), Shaun Russon(DSC runner), Jeff Leavitt(DHS best runner), Corey Kimzey(PVHS stud runner), and me.

I was the first leg and got to the starting line with about a minute to spare. The gun went off and I hurried and pushed into the lead. My goal on this first leg was to just beat Bill Campbell. Jk, I just wanted to run under a 6 minute pace for the 6 miles. I lost the lead to some SLC runner about a mile and a half in and I let him keep it the rest of the way.

6.07 miles         time: 36:16/5:58 mile pace

I ended up running leg 8 because Shaun had some nasty blisters so we gave him an easier leg. I was not down for this leg at all. When Jeff handed off to me our team was about 3 minutes behind the Running Club team so I really had no motivation to push.

4.79 miles        time: 31:39/6:37 mile pace

It was a great race! I tip my hat off to Hayden, James, Dustin, Bill, and Nate on their victory, great job guys!

I wasn't sure what time I would be able to run in the 800 so I jumped in the slowest heat of 3. I saw Kendrek and his cousin in this heat so I was happy about that. The gun went off and I fell behind some kid for the first 200 meters, but then I passed him and never looked back. I tried kicking it on the last 100 but I didn't have anything left. Hopefully my times will keep improving once I get in better shape. It was nice to win a 800 race, even if it was in the slow heat. I PR'd today as well.

I was on my dads team DSC XC team and Friends. I ran the first leg of the 10 person relay. It was supposed to be a mile run but it was more like a 1200. My dad was pretty mad at me for running 7 miles at track practice right before this race. I didn't want to run in cold and rain. I also didn't want to run against pretty much 3of the fastest people in Utah. I started good but my soreness started to wear me down at the end. I guess I PR'd on this run though, so its all good.

I ran this race as a 10 mile workout because if I would have gone all out I probably would have ruined my chance of running fast for region track. So I just went out and ran a solid 10 and then waited for Jared Gentry and ran the final 3 miles with him. If I would have ran the complete race I would have run like a 1:23.

SUCK! I sucked it up at region! I was positive about running under 2:10 all day but when it came to crunch time I wussed out. I think I PR'd for the year but I'm still mad. I wanted to end my high school running career in a better way.

I'm going to take a week break and then get ready for Wasatch Back.

The original plan was that I was going to bandit this 10k this morning. I don't even know what 10k it was called but things didn't really work out. My garmin wasn't ready when the gun went off so I started like 2 minutes behind everyone. Then I was just feeling sick so I backed off and decided to run with my buddy Jared Gentry. Then when running with him I pulled my hamstring. So overall a terrible "race attempt". Hopefully my hami gets better soon.

I took it easy yesterday to give my hami some recovery time. I tested it out today some light running and it is better but still a nagging problem.

We did the Oak Grove run tonight for wasatch. I struggled for the first couple of miles with my hami straining. Then I got to a point where my hamsting wasn't a problem at all, so sweet! I just cruised along and ran a solid workout. After I finished Ethans face was all swollen up and Ryan was lost or something. Crazy night, so I had to drive Ethans truck back to our meetin spot.

I went out with a re-pulled hamstring(from frisbee) and tried to run with the wasatch crew. I ended up only going 4.5 and then added another mile and a half of grass loops at the church.

So my body is beat up for wasatch! I'm considering this relay my last "high school" race because I'm not satisfied with how XC or track ended for me and because I am running with all high school kids. I'm going to have to give each leg I do my best despite my injuries and all other crap that might occur. If I don't do my best I will be pissed!

I ran through the pain again. I'm just trying to get to 1000 miles for the year.

I got out and led the race for the first little bit just so I could run with the old crew. Then I progressively got worse and was feeling pain alot. I took 10th overall, and 2nd in the "Pine View Alumni Division" behind Bundy. I also got beat by Kaylee Boyer.

BOOM! Got 1,000 miles on a down year.
