| | Well I have gotten fat because I haven't run. New year though. I am going to try and run 5 days week even if that means really short distances. |
| | Ran the Sandberg pond loop with my Dad. |
| | Ran an easy with my timex watch. I am finally figuring it out. |
| | Ran an easy 4, nothing special. |
| | Easy 4 with the Ross man. I need to get back in shape and fast. |
| | I ran a good paced down to Lowes and back. I ran at 7:16/mile. |
| | I was running good but ran out of gas near the end because it was a ton of uphill. |
| | Ran out behind the house that got nailed by a boulder. |
| | I tracked down the PV track team and it was a rushed dumb decision. I enjoyed seeing Holt and some younger siblings of my buddies. I was really dehydrated and didn't stretch. Might have pulled something. |
| | Out of shape but I am getting better. |
| | I ran to my Uncles house and pulled a calf muscle. |
| | I thought I could run out my tight calf. I guess I need more time and more stretching or I should have run more. |
| | My leg is still tightning up but I think I will be alright. |
| | Calf is feeling better but still a lingering issue. |
| |
Just ran to get a little exercise in. Saturday will be interesting. |
| | Just went out and ran some striders on the grass. Not sure how far I actually ran. |
| Race: |
Dogtown Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:43:35, Place overall: 400, Place in age division: 6 | | Well I thought I was all recovered from my right calf injury and now I have a left calf that won't loosen up. I should have started slower but I don't know how because I usually run road races in better shape. I felt really good and ran 6:05 for the first and about a 19:50 3 mile split. I was just starting to settle in at about 4 and a half miles and then my left calf blew up on me. I tried stretching and praying but my calf is messed up. I wanted to quit but I hobbled along and finished the race. Sucky experience but at the same time I can learn from it. I just need to get my legs feeling better, lose weight and get back into it.
| | Hiked/ran with my Dad on some trail right behind Tuacahn. We saw where they keep their camels, zebras, and horses. Ended up in Snow Canyon state park. My calf held up thanks to a week break of not doing anything. I can only get better from here. |
| | Relaxed loop 4 miler with my Dad. Still feeling some tightness in the calves but I won't do anything to dangerous on them for a while. |
| | I was going to just walk or jog but I felt better than I thought I would. Ran up and over Foremaster. |
| | I have no idea how far I ran but it was awesome! I was camping at Doheny Park with some buddies. I ran from our camp site to San Clemente Pier. I ran along the beach the whole way on some incredible pathways, like compacted sand trails. It was a really long run so I don't really know how far I ran, I would guess no less than 8 but no more than 11? I didn't run with a watch or anything I just enjoyed the views. |
| | Ran around Dana Point with Dahlson Flake, and RJ Smith. We found the cool mountain trails and jumped from rock to rock on a mile long jetty. It was crazy! We saw a baby seal get rescued by the Harbor Patrol. |
| | I ran a big loop from my house through Washington, the fields, up river road past foremaster, Sunrise and back home. It was a long slow run but I feel good that I did it. |
| | Nothing like a trail run above Middleton. Halfway through I stopped on top of a nice view point and did some homework. I'm reading up on Bowerman and Nike. Still have some calf problems butt I ran at an easy pace. |
| | Still having calf problems. |

Zion Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:37:09, Place overall: 16, Place in age division: 2 | | Injured but I ran a smarter race. Team Deckinator took 2nd place baby. It was a uphill course but I liked it. I need to get healthy and in shape. Despite my injury it was a good stepping stone.

| | Ran up to Angels Landing, well as much as I could. My calf and people kind of preventing running the whole thing, and I guess the chains. I became a member of the Angels Club and will get a $40 taken off next years Zion Half Marathon. Good run with my old man. |
| | Ran an easy 2 in some new Aasics. Felt like a good pair but my calf was still giving me problems. |
| | I ran slow miles in the Green Springs Desert. It was super windy and I almost stepped on a turtle. My calf is still bugging me but I will just take it easy. |
| | I ran on the bike trail until I saw some deer. I wore compression socks and it seemed to help my calves. |
| | Ran a mile to the PV track, ran a mile there and then back home. |
| | Ran the Great Race course at the college with my Dad, and some teammates. |
| | I just wanted to run to keep my streak going for the week. |

| | I just had to get out and run. |
| | I ran to play some volleyball then I ran to play some soccer. It was a lot of miles but I broke it up between sports. |
| | Participated in the Great Race and won it! We did it as an unofficial DSU XC team. I did the trivia and ran around the course cheering on my team. |

| | I ran out to Washington up to the Maverik and looped through desert above Green Springs. I wanted to run 10 and it was exactly 10. |

Hurricane Mud Run (3 Miles) 00:30:30, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | SUPER FUN MUD OBSTACLE RACE! At the start it was just dusty and no dirt for like a mile or more. So Hyrum, RJ, and I took off and ran fast dominating our heat. By the time we hit the obstacles and mud we were atleast half a mile ahead of everyone else. We missed out on hanging with our team but it was fun to be in the lead.
| | Finally got brave enough to run on some nasty blisters. |
| |
1st run: I did my annual run to the river run today. It is so refreshing to run in some heat and then hop into that Virgin River. 2nd run: I ran up the hill by Coral Canyon and the dump on Telegraph just for fun after a class in Hurricane.
| | Ran out to the ball fields in Little Valley. |
| | I ran from my friends house in Diamond Valley at 2 am this morning. Crazy run but good. |

| | Ran the Color Palooza with Baby Face. |
| | I went on an adventure today with my Dad. We ran down the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to the Colorado and back up. We were able to run a solid 22 miles before heat and our quads destroyed us. We struggled through the last 10 miles but had a blast in the Canyon.
| Race: |
Midnight 5k (3 Miles) 00:20:13, Place overall: 12, Place in age division: 2 | | I was surprised I had any energy to run like I did. I dressed up as Mr. Steeler and had a good time.

I ran negative splits for my last 7 miles getting into low 7s and a 6:40 for my last mile. I haven't been finishing strong in any of my runs so today was just what I needed. |

Bryce Canyon Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:26:27 | | So I drank Monster before the race and that was a HUGE mistake! I had to poop pretty much the whole race. My ending chip time was like 1:34 including my 4-5 port-a-potty stops. My actual running time was 1:26:27. I wish I didn't have stomach problems because I would have run even faster. I am still proud of my efforts especially including how sick I felt. I almost quit.

| | XC Practice: Ran 6 with the team out to Middleton.
After practice I was called upon to run in the Red Rock with my buddy Montague. I coud not resist. I only made the conditions that I would do some earlier legs so I could get done fast so I could party at my cabin.
Leg 3(Red Rock): I loved this leg! Long and mostly downhill. 8.50 miles in 56:28/6:39 pace
Leg 7(Red Rock): Duck creek to Navajo lake. I am a terrible runner and I had to run this "very hard" leg. I just tried to endure and not pass out. 5.8 miles in 51:53/8:57 pace
Leg 13(Red Rock): I ran out towards New Castle and I was hauling butt (prob 6:15-6:20 pace) but then there was a lot of loose gravel and my flats do not handle loose gravel and or rocks very well. My feet got destroyed. Fatigue from running 20+ miles didn't seem to be a big deal but my feet were killing me. 4.8 miles in 33:45/7:02 pace

| Race: |
St. George Expedition (Team Decker) (50 Miles) 06:09:33, Place overall: 5, Place in age division: 1 | | The snow was nuts! I was really worried about hamstring but I didn't have problems with it until near the end of Leg 6. My Dad and I were in out of leading the whole race until Leg 7. After Leg 7 my Dad and I were about done. With a combination of my hamstring problem and a new IT band problem, my Dads enery depletion, and the crazy snow we struggled to finish. I couldn't finish leg 10 because of my leg so after my Dad got energized he switched me half way through leg 10.
Leg 2: Tried to run as conservative as a I could on a short leg. 2.36 miles: 16:21/6:56 mile
Leg 4: Hard not to go fast on this leg, with all the downhill. I destroyed my body on the downhill. 7.32 miles: 47:26/6:29 mile
Leg 6: Ran through my territory on the trail by the River by the Skim boarding place. My hamstring and IT band started hurting really really bad. 4.98 miles: 35:48/7:11 mile
Leg 8: I just chugged along with a bad leg. 4.56 miles: 43:23/9:31 mile
Leg 10(half of): Tried to bail my Dad out of running more than 5 legs but my leg was too bad. 2.53 miles: 25:27/10:03
