| | Busy goofing around and taking care of T-Bone all day. Got out late and didn’t feel Sammy vibes. Still got something though. 2.01 miles

I waited there and realized it would make more sense to carpool from Warner. So I found a shortcut in between the 2 routes. Found a couple of groups, should’ve run with them, but wanted to find the upper minutes crew. Never did find them…..so then I ran to the parking area just in time for all the cars to be rolling out. Feel dumb for not just sticking to a group once I found the team. However, still had a good time and run. 11.44 miles

Leg 2- Felt paranoid that Mr. Hooper (or his teammate) were close so I ran smooth and hit some solid speed (for me). Actually really enjoyed this leg and the fact that it was shorter than advertised. 6 miles / 6:47 mi

Leg 4- I’ve run this leg like a million times so I just put on cruise control and rolled. Almost punched a lady’s car for pulling out to far at a gas station forcing me into traffic. 5.14 miles / 6:52 mi

Leg 6- Started to feel tired but just kept the pace at low 7s. Kept leap frogging the same team over and over. They’d pass Ross on his leg then I’d repass them on my leg. Solid crew from SUU. 3.79 miles / 7:05 mi

Leg 8- Historically the 4th leg is where my body has started to really slow down/cramp/hurt. I kind of expected it this year. I just tried to stayed positive and keep that pace consistent. Plus I had team #8 to pass again. 3.94 miles / 7:11 mi

Leg 10- Started right off with team #8’s best runner. I let him go and just tried to run smooth. Legs definitely were ready to be done after 1.5-2 miles into this leg. Similar to the last miles of a marathon. Plus there was a huge hill that I didn’t even attempt to run. No cramping but felt dizzy and slowed down a ton. I knew I just had to make it to the dyke then I’d survive. Luckily I had Sam Fish and Quinton Read to help me get to the finish. I would’ve probably pushed harder but felt no paranoia knowing Ross and I had 2-Man locked up. Great race day! Tons of fun with SGSilverbacks and old DSU teammates. 6.86 miles / 8:20 mi

Beaver Canyon Half Marathon (13.13 Miles) 01:22:43, Place overall: 16, Place in age division: 2 | | Knew it was going to be a fast course because of my marathon experience in that canyon. Tried to be conservative but also crush the downhills. Things went pretty well other than a blister on my right heel that I was aware of from 4-5 miles. Then I had some “hernia coughs” around 8-9 miles that really slowed me down. I survived the last 4-5 miles and just kept it under 7 (which is a skill I’ll need for STG).

Ran close to Sydney Smith as she charged hills and avoided a fall. Then I tried to keep up with Sariah Jones on the return trip. Had some casualties today but overall a great Saturday! 8.39 miles

AM2- Got down to the main road and chased some dumb cows that should just stay put. Ran up to the start Dairy Hollow and the Pink Cliffs trails. Consistent running all the back to the Kanab Creek turn off. Washed off in the waterfall and ran back to camp. Good endurance test for me in the heat. 12.24 miles

Drove my car up to the Diamond Valley turn off. Got moving pretty quick early. Did race pace sets of 4, 3, 2, and 1. Did mile recovery between sets except for the last 1 mile. I wanted to make sure my legs were pretty tired for that last rep. Ran home to get those extra miles. I hydrated pretty well and my body held up after 15+ miles (for the most part). 18.28 miles

STG MARATHON 2025 (26.2 Miles) 03:08:55, Place overall: 319, Place in age division: 26 | | Had a rough week of sleepless nights, back and butt pains. I took Th and Fri off of running because I didn’t want to hurt myself more. I even scheduled a last minute massage. Needless, to say I was nervous going into the race. I just built myself up and thought “I’m still gonna get after it”.
Race started super well and I had a ton of confidence and swagger. Had an early Matt Searle sighting but not too many other familiar faces. I ran every mile through the first half exactly how I wanted, not too fast but still had some fun. Easiest Veyo I can remember. Best part, my butt/back pain seemed like a non issue (thank you St. George Day Spa). Ross and I taped some hydration stuff to mile posts and those were clutch at different points of the race.
At around mile 14 I was ready to roll out my second dose of “anti-cramp” pills but the pills were all stuck together. For like 4-5 miles I tried loosening those bad boys. At around 19 I tossed them to the side. Cramps twinges started to roll on the fun downhills, I started to loose my speed confidence.
Got to mi gente at mile 22 and stopped to put some icy hot on my legs. Jake Saari Trevor Prior Benji Williams some guy called brennan and Mr. President jumped in with me and provided some much needed support in the way of conversation and beverage. They witnessed the start of some cramping.
Made a business decision to slow down and straight leg shuffle down to Diagonal. I did the math and figured 3 10 minute miles would still get me a sub 3:10. Right at mile 24 I high fived a student and turned into a statue. Both hamstrings and quads seized and I just stood there for like 30 seconds. Someone rubbed more icy hot on my legs and I walked for a minute.
I moved on very pessimistic not sure how I was going to make the last 1.8 miles without cramping. Luckily Dave Holt spawned in and helped me get to the last turn of the race. He kept telling me I wasn’t going to cramp, and he was right. I endured and got to that finish line. Officially 3:08:55 and a new STG PR!

Rally for Ally 5K (3.06 Miles) 00:19:32 | | Ran with Scottie Bushar taking turns pushing and getting complacent. I had to close a gate a little after a mile that cost me 10-15 seconds. The announcer said I was the “2nd Place Female” but I never got my prize?!? So fun to see so many PV Legends today! Amazing turn out and support today! Gotta love the Holts 🐈🤷♂️! Plus I think the course was actually pretty freakin’ solid even for having 500-600 people on it.
*Can’t believe I ran this well considering how much pain I’ve been in. Football (with too many Ellsworths) and lifting stuff for the race got my hernia flaring up.
