| | I guess Coach Cappy is my distance coach now. I don't know how or why this happened. I miss Holt as my coach already. Anyways we ran a pyramid: 400, 800, 1600, 800, 400. My times sucked so its not worthing telling.

| | We ran 3 400's and did hand-off's. I progressivley got slower in my 400's and I ran into Michelle Green on my second one, but its the day before a meet so its all good.

| | I ran to the high school and back for a total of 2 miles. I missed practice today because I was getting my tooth fixed, but I ran 1200 meters with my dad to get ready for my leg in the Great Race this friday. Later I ran 5 400's I was pretty tired by this point.

Dixie College Great Race (1 mile?) (0.8 Miles) 00:04:09, Place overall: 5, Place in age division: 3 | | My team finished 5th overall in this 10 man relay. The finish line was messed up! they had a arrow pointing toward the finish line that I started running to while in 2nd place, but they extended it because the lead guy went the wrong way. A guy passed me near the very end, but he wouldn't have passed me if we went the way the arrow was pointing (the right way). I got 3rd dang it! Atleast I beat Dixie Colleges #1 runner, and Nikki Johnson's boyfriend. The course was about 1200 meters plus the extension they decided to add. I ran it in 4.09. If I would have ran the way the arrow was pointing I would have run a 3.53. My Dad and I tested the extension and it was about a 16 second add on.

| | I ran about a 1 1/2 miles this morning. After school we ran 5 400's again. I wanted to run 6, but after my 5th I tried to stretch and I was cramping up. I think I was sore from squating 5, 6, 700 pounds on saturday.
| | I ran over to the track from my house expecting to do a pyramid, but when I got there a soccer game was going down. I had my camelback on with my spikes inside and everything ready to run fast. So I felt like I wanted to run in that red cliffs desert. When I first got into the desert I got lost. Later I found my way and just trucked. I think it was a total of 11 miles about considering the longer distance from my house. Total time: 1.24
| | We ran 4 800's. I was pretty tired from running 10 and half miles on saturday.
| | Track is really weird right now. I doesn't seem like anyone is really trying that hard. The whole Cappy taking control of the mile/800 guys has to do with a lot of it I'm sure. He expects a lot out of us but the workouts he gives us aren't very smart, and he never really seems to pay attention if we really do it. He also tells us how us distance guys are failures, and that we couldn't do anything else in track. I guess this is how Cappy inspires by telling us we suck.
We ran a pyramid today 400,800,1600,800,400. It was hot for the first time this track season.

SUU Track Meet (0.5 Miles) 00:02:16, Place overall: 3 | | Eric Wilson a cedar kid was really pushing me and I really wanted to beat hime but he had a better kick than me. Atleast I got a PR finally! I ate subway like 2 hours before my 800 and I threw up after it. I also ran a 2.22 split in a 4x8 thirty minutes after the open 800.

SUU Track Meet (1 Miles) 00:05:14, Place overall: 2 | | I was placed in the second heat, but Willy was placed in the first even though he usually runs the mile faster than me. We each ended up getting 2nd in our heats. Erik Wilson was in my race and I really wanted to redeem myself from the 800 he beat me in. I ran the first 3 laps right on his butt, and on the 4th lap with about 200 meters left I passed him and I was hauling. With 100 meters left there was this Timpanogos kid right in front of and I kicked it passing him to get 2nd place. I also PR'd in this race too. My time was 5:14, here are my splits:
lap 1: 1:13
lap 2: 1:23
1ap 3: 1:19
lap 4: 1:19

Region at PV (0.5 Miles) 00:02:15, Place overall: 17 | | It was hot during the time I ran, but I PR'd. It was really fun to watch our team do so good. Britton Staheli is a beast! I am his official block holder now. Cedar beat us, but we beat Hurricane so who cares.
As for Baron Davis and the Warriors they might win 1 game, maybe 2. No matter what happpens B-Davis will still have a sweet beard!

Kanab 10K (6.2 Miles) 38:00:00, Place overall: 5, Place in age division: 1 | | I felt like I didn't have much endurance, probably because I haven't 6+ miles for a couple of months. They changed the Kanab course and it was about 20-30 seconds slower than the previous one. I did take 5th though and I beat my Dad. I ran pretty strong behind the top 4 but as the race went one there was a bigger gap in between us. I'm going to take a week break from running now, then get ready for wasatch.
GO SUNS! GO SUNS! GO SUNS!

| | I ran about 2.5 miles with Fre today. It kind of sucked, but it was a good start run.
| | Today we began our Wasatch Relay training. My Dad, Goold, and Baker were running too fast for me so I ran with Austin and Zac. We ran pretty good pace.
| | Our Wasatch team, Garret Faylor, and David sheeran met at the Little Valley Stake Center to run. We ran Webb Hill 1 1/2 times. When we ran up the entire hill I was having some back problems. When we ran half way up it I was right behind My Dad, Dave, and Baker. On the run back to the Stake Center I was running with Monty but I left him and started bookin it to the stake center. Jeff ran with me and it felt like we were running an 800 pace, it was an awesome and fast finish.
| | I stayed up on Cedar Mountain in my trailer. I ran with my dad and we started out running 2 miles up this steep road with about a 10% grade. My calves were killing me! We got off the road and did some "offroading" for another 3 miles, and with half a mile to our trailer we booked it up this very steep hill. Later that night me and my Dad chased some Elk, it was a way fun day.
| | We had 7 out of 12 runners there today at practice. Monty, Steve O., and RJ were all at practice. It sounds like Monty and are switching spots for Wasatch so I will be running the "crazy hard" part of the Relay. Today we ran 5 1/2 miles and I started out in the front and later fell back. I ran with Fre after 3 1/2 miles. I had to go the bathroom at the park by the Dixie Center.
| | Another Webb Hill Day. Fre, BOOZ, Baker, Steve, Willy, Amanda, Ally, My Dad, were all there. We ran Webb Hill once, than did the upper half twice. I ran hard with Baker on the mile back to the stake center.
1 mile to Webb Hill: 6:42, 1 Webb Hill: 9:57, run back to half way point: 3:49, run up the upper half of Webb Hill: 4:02, run back to half way point: 3:43, run up the upper half of Webb Hill again: 4:03, run down the entire Webb Hill: 7:58, run back to the stake center: 6:46.
| | My Dad, Brother, Ally, Amanda, and Willy went and ran on Pine Valley Mt. It was a pretty steep up hill run. We ran for 30 minutes up the mountain, I started out with my dad but was having problems with my calves then Willy passed me up. I turned around with Willy after 30 minutes of up hill. Then we ran downhill all the way back. I was hauling and left Willy on the downhill.
| | Wasatch Practice- I woke up with like 5 hours of sleep and was feeling sick to my stomach. I decided that I would start out slower and work my way up and see how I felt. I ran the first 3/12 miles with Ally, and RJ. We we were far behind my dad, Ruth, Zac, and Willy wasn't too far ahead. At the park Ally, Zac, Willy, and RJ took a breather but I didn't and finished the rest of the run a lot faster. Willy pushed at the end.
| | I ran over to Washington Elementary taking weird streets along the way to get about 3 miles in before actually hitting the school. I felt sick again this morning and I tried running the sickness out during the 3 mile warm-up. We ran 4.7 for our actual work-out, I ran with Zac, and Willy most of the way. Baker, Steve, Ruth were in front of us. I was feeling sick during the 4.7 run. Shoot! I still feel sick. Run Time: 54:23
| | Wasatch practice- Today we ran repeats instead of Webb Hill. For our warm up we ran from the little valley stake center to wells fargo. Started our first mile at wells fargo, running along a bike trail. Then we ran another mile to the park by the dixie center. Took a a break at the park and ran 4 800's back to wells fargo. Then our cool down back to the stake center. It seemed like a lot of the runners were having stomach problems. My Dad, BOOZ, Fre, Bake, Ruth, Willy, Amanda were the runners there tonight.
warm up: 5:04, mile 1: 5:59, mile 2: 6:17, 1st 800: 3:02, 2nd 800: 2:58, 3rd 800: 3:04, 4th 800: 2:55, cool down: 5:28 RUN TIME: 5:28.

| | XC Practice- I ran an easy 3 miler with Fre. We started out running with Ruth, and Holt but later died to preserve energy or something like that. You know what they say: 3 miles is better than no miles. 10k and 5k next 2 days.

USG 10K (6.2 Miles) 36:33:00, Place overall: 22, Place in age division: 10 | | It was the most competitive summer games race I have ever raced in. Coach Holt took 2nd overall and my dad won his age group. I PR'd on this course, so I was happy about that. I was feeling sick through miles 4 and 5. I think I have a lot in the tank for tomorrows race, we will see what happens. I didn't get my 1st mile split.
split after 2 miles: 11:17.47, mile 3: 5:43.75, mile 4: 6:25.43, mile 5: 6:42.41, 1.2 miles: 6:25.46

USG 5K (3.1 Miles) 18:08:00, Place overall: 19, Place in age division: 8 | | I had a horrible race, its that plain and simple. I felt sick and was way sore and I just suck at running. I can't even beat a girl or a 47 year old man with a torn miniscus. I am real mad at myself right now, to describe how I feel I am going to "quote" a part of a Sir Elton John song: "I think I'm going to kill myself, cause a little suicide". Thats pretty much how I feel. The only thing getting me through my depression right now is the Suns shorts, jersey, and Jerome Bettis shorts I got from my bro in the Phillippines. Jessica Alba is also helping me get through the hard times, cause she's so hot!
I'm just kidding about all the depression stuff, life is good! I'm not going to let one bad race take me down.
| | Started out me, Bake, and Fre singing. Then Bake and everyone else left me and Jeff alone. It was an easy day, well I made it an easy day.
| | Last day of Wasatch Practice and we ran 16 60 second intervals with a 60 second jog in between. I really stayed consistent through each run so I was happy about that, I was always about the same distance behind my dad and Baker. Later on Jeff, Monty, and Willy moved up and ran the last couple real well. WASATCH IS GONNA AWESOME!

WBR (3.6 Miles) 00:23:17 | | Leg 10- Our Team started at 3:00 PM. The six in the first van ran a lot slower than we thought they would. I guess the heat really sucked to run in. I started my leg at 9:12 PM. It started getting dark throughout my run, and I was feeling alright but I kept relaxed because I didn't want to run too hard for on my first leg. I got confused at the end on where to go, and the headlights of the oncoming cars were blinding me. My run time was: 23:17.
Our Team Was:
Van 1: Paul Zabriskie (Coach), Alex Baker, Zac Zabriskie, Adam Forsyth, Alex Busenbark, Eric Goold, and Jeff Frodsham.
Van 2: Ross Decker (Coach), RJ Smith, Aaron Montague, Steve Ott, Myself, Austin Smith, and Willy Heinrich.

WBR (10.8 Miles) 01:30:18, Place overall: 19, Place in age division: 1 | | Leg 22- After eating, watching my friends chase a skunk, and sleeping for about 45 mins. I was ready for my 2nd leg. I thought it was going to be 6.4 miles, but I heard that someone who had their Garmin had it at about 6.8 miles. I started this run at 4:19 AM. Steve O. ran his whole leg with some kid, so I tried keeping up with his brother during the beginning of my run but he was a lot faster than the kid Steve ran with so I let him go. During the run I was alone a lot of the time, and it was dark and scary. I probably passed 4 people and got passed by 2. I rolled my ankle at one point and it was starting to hurt al little, but I just stayed relaxed and finished the run. Run Time: 45:30.
Leg 34 (RAGNAR)- I wasn't even going to run ragnar, but about 3 weeks ago Aaron and I decided to switch places because I was in better shape. 12:17 PM- I got the "slap stick baton" from Steve and was real motivated to not walk and run real smart. I was running with my dad and he gave me awesome advice! Every .8 miles I would get water from my truck that I would pour all over my body to keep me cool (it really helped). About 2 1/2 miles into "Ragnar" I walked for about 15 seconds than kept running. I kept my strides real short to straighten out my back and whenever there was a flat part I ran fast in a relaxed way. I walked a little with about half a mile to go. I finished real strong when I saw the exhange zone. I passed about 18 people on Ragnar mainly because a lot of them were walking. Run Time: 44:48
LATER:
Everyone in my truck(vehicle 1) started to run with Willy with about 800 meters to the finish line. With about 300 meters to go everyone in vehicle 2 joined the group and all 12 of us ran to the finish line it was AWESOME! We got our medals and celebrated! We are definitely coming back next year! Our Finish time was: 22:59:59
| | We did the Fire Station run at XC practice. I was having heart problems while running it was real weird, but I took it easy. I took a pain killer (for my mouth) about 20 minutes before running and I don't think that was the best thing to do. It was good to finally run again.
| | Today at XC practice we ran out to the desert, across the round-about at the washington parkway and in to more desert. I started out with the lead group but later fell back just a little. At the 2 mile marker Steve, and Zac started to turn around so Monty and I did the same. Baker, Willy, Ruth, and Holt kept on going. It was starting to get hot by the time I turned around so I was glad I only ran 4. Overall it was a pretty good run. Run time: 29:30
Went up to Cedar Mountain and ran about 6.2 more miles with my dad. We started from our camp site and ran 3 miles out and back. It was good altitude training!
| | I was still camping up on cedar mountain with my family. Navajo lake wasn't too far away from our camp site so my dad wanted to do the loop around the whole freakin lake. We had run about 1.1 miles before the Navajo lake turn off. Than we looped the whole lake (which took forever). We jumped into the cold lake and hiked back up to the highway and ran about 400 meters back to our camp site. This run was about 9.5 miles, it was very, very good altitude training. Later this night we called in some Elk with my Elk bugle it was awesome!
| | Didn't run today but came home from camping and saw the PV XC team in the Dixie Life paper it was way cool.
| | Ran behind Holt and Ruth for a while than ended up finishing behind Britt.
| | I woke up early at like 5:15 and waited for Fre to get out of his tent. At about 5:55 we started our run around the Kolob Reservoir. We started out running along the shore and that really slowed us down, later we moved up to the dirt road. We saw about 10 deer on our run around the reservoir. With about 2 miles left to go we saw Papa and little Willy coming the opposite way to do the loop. It was a real relaxed run, but Me and Fre kicked it at the end so all the scouts would think we were way fast. After this we jumped in the lake and it was cold.
| | RJ, FRE, and I went out running to find a course for the "fun run" the next day. We did not accomplish anything for the race but we saw a bunch of Horses, Cows, Turkeys and 2 dead Beavers. We did not run the whole distance either.
| Race: |
Stake "Fun Run" created by RJ (1.2 Miles) 00:07:30, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | It was sort of a race but not really. Willy, Jeff, RJ, and Austin Smith are all in my stake and they ran it too. Willy kept saying he was going to kill me in this run, but come race day and he didn't even really race it. I ran with my dad the whole way we ran out to a NO TRESPASSING sign and back. I think I crossed the flag pole(finish line) before my dad but we might have tied. So I got a bead for winning this "Fun Run".
Later this day there was a Triathilon: Swimming, Running, and Canoeing. My dad did the swim leg in which he crushed in. He handed off to Conner Murdock and Conner ran about 100 meters along the shore. He handed off to me and I ran about 370 meters and handed off to Mr. Christensen(Tennis Coach at PV) who handed off to Cody Hintze. Cody ran about 50 meters and handed off to the people in the Canoe and they finished the Triathilon for us. The next team was about 30 seconds behind us. My ward pretty much DOMINATED everything at camp.
| | Went to XC practice and sucked. My calves kept getting more tight the more I ran, and I felt dehydrated. Its all good though I am going to run every day now.
| | Played B-ball instead of running.
| | I thought we were going to run down to dog pound and back up for our run. I was wrong, we ran like a loop instead. I started off running with Baker, Ott, Monty, and this other kid, but later dropped back with Lusk, Ruth, and Fre. Ruth picked it up and left us then I left Lusk and Fre and ran by myself the rest of the run with Ruth in front of me by a ways. It was a 4.6 mile run.
Ran later tonight on Pine Valley Mountain with my Dad. Most of the whole thing was uphill and I was having "stomach" problems. It was about 7.2 miles but I walked like a mile of it because of my problems. It was a good run I guess.
| | Went up to Cedar mountain and got our trailor. My Dad, my bro, and I ran while we were up there. My brother Justin got home from his mission last night at 11:30. So we already took him on a run the the first day he's back. He struggled with the high altitude since the Phillippines is way low. I ran at race pace for about 1 1/2 and the rest of the time it was pretty easy.
| | I ran this loop around my neighborhood to try out my new Aasics 2110's. They feel really good! I started pretty easy than started going at race pace for the last 1 1/2 miles of the 2 mile run. I ran it in 14:04 and this was like at 1:00 in the morning.
| | I went to XC practice for the first time in a while. Its time to get real serious about running! I started out with Holt, Britt, Baker, Willy, Zac, and Fre. I didn't want to go far because of the 10k I have tomorrow so me and Fre turned around at the 2 mile point. I ran real relaxed the whole time until the end me and Jeff really pushed it. It seems like when ever Jeff and I run together we always have a real strong finish, I think it helps. Tomorrows 10k will show what kind of shape I am in.

| Race: |
Enterprise 10K (6.2 Miles) 00:37:41, Place overall: 12, Place in age division: 3 | | I didn't have time to go to the bathroom before the race and I really had to go. I started out with my indian brother Shaun Yellowhorse and Scott Finch. My Dad passed me up about a mile into the race. I ran with Shaun and Scott the first 3 miles of the race, then Scott threw a drinking cup at me and after that I couldn't keep up. Dang Scott! I started dying after about 3 1/2 miles. The last 2 miles were really boring and hard! I finished with a time of 37:41, and I beat both of my brothers so I get to keep my big room. After the race Shaun and Scott told me that I have loud feet, and Coach Holt is going to help me fix my form so I don't have loud feet.

2- 6.01.99
3- 6.11.06

| | I slept over at Zabriskies last night and I woke up and ran from Ryans house to Washington Elementary. It was a good warm up to see how my legs were feeling, the warm up was about 1.7 miles. When we started the real workout it was already way humid and it wasn't getting any better. We ran 5 fire station hills. I was proud of how I ran for the first 3. For the last 2 Coach ran with a couple of us. I took these last 2 to another level and ran a lot faster. I was surprised of how well my legs feeling today since I ran a 10k yesterday.
Run to hill: 7.53
hill 1- 53.01
2- 53.25

| | I got up to Pine Valley for my family reunion. No one had really shown up yet so my dad and I went and ran off in the wilderness. It was crazy we were running up hill, down hill, dodging branches and stuff. It was pretty fun!
| | I played B-ball with all my Cousins and my team was a dynasty! My brother and I were hitting 3's like the Phoenix Suns. After b-ball we were driving back to our cabin and I told my dad to drop me off about 3 miles from the cabin. I ran pretty hard all the way back and was pretty proud of my time, considering I had just played b-ball for 2 1/2 hours.
2.7 miles in 17.14
| | This morning I went on a run with 2 of my uncles, 3 cousins, and my dad. My dad and I started out with all of them and later left them to get a good run in. We ran on this trail that took us 3 miles down some really steep downhill, which meant turning around and running back was going to suck! It really did suck to run 3 miles out, it was really, really steep. I endured it though. It took forever to run up hill.
Total time: 51.58
Sorry XC team I will be in San Diego till next Saturday but I will still be running.
| | Ran with my dad and brother Jake. We ran along this bay in San Diego. Our time was 46.10 a pretty good run!
| | I was in San Diego all this week. I ran along the bay with dad today. We ran 14 400's with a 200 jog in between. My times were about 1.25-1.38 throughout the whole run. My fastest one was a 1.23. I was dying bad after the first 3 400's. It was good to run though.
| | Finally got back to XC practice. I ran 5 miles I didn't really run with anyone but I was behind Zac and Ruth the whole time. Run time: 37.10
Ran again at 3 to get use to the heat with some of the cross country team. It wasn't way hot but still sucky. We did the D.I. loop and I extended it to finish at my house. It was probably about a 2.4 mile run.
| | We ran Fire Station Hills today at XC practice. I ran one more than I did last week, so I ran 6 today. I ran hard on each hill and felt really sick on the run back to the school. I think the total run milage was about 3.4 miles, but I don't know for sure.
hill 1: 51. 83
2: 51.96
3: 52.0
4: 50.54
5: 47.73
6: 45.65
Another heat run today, same D.I. loop. We got our uniforms today so that was cool. During the run I ran behind Ruth and in front of Fre. It was really hot today! 2.3 miles: 16.40

| | I missed this mornings run because I was feeling sick probably from some bad mexican food and lack of sleep. For the afternoon run at 3:00 I ran down to the high school which was about a mile run. As a group we ran to the Wells Fargo bank, and back which was about 2.3 mile run, I took it real easy. After that run I ran back home, and it was still freakin hot!

CV Invite (3 Miles) 00:20:00, Place overall: 16, Place in age division: 16 | | I had a bad race, but I always have a bad first race.
| | I ran down to the high school and played ultimate frisbee. My team dominated with Z, Jared and Jordan Ellsworth, Kory, Kaylee, and Alyse. After that I ran home with Fre

| | I woke up at about 7:10 and got up and drank some water, and went back to bed until 7:45. I ran down to the high school from my house which is about 1.1 miles. The XC workout was the Sunrise/Foremaster run, as I like to call it. I started out with Wood, RJ, and Baker, and they all had a lot of ground on me after 1 1/2 miles. Wood kept on going to do the Chuck-a-Rama run. I caught Baker at the top of the sunrise hill, he was dying. I was behind RJ by about 30 seconds for a long while. I caught up to and passed RJ with about a mile to go. I finished pretty strong considering the heat! It was a really good "rebound" run from my last race. It was one of my best runs of the summer.
7.2 miles: 53.15=7.23/mile
Afternoon Practice- I ran down to the high school from my house again, I count this mile in my overall distances because I usually run it pretty fast. For the "2 1/2 mile middle school run" I ran with coach pretty much the whole time. He taught me how to correct my form, so I can keep working on it. I was getting dehydrated by the minute during this run, but still ran a decent relaxed run. I walked half of the mile home and ran the last. Distance for this run: 1 mile down to school + 2 1/2 run + half mile run home= 4 miles.
| | I ran down to the high school again to see how my legs were feeling, they were tired. I lead the stretches because I was the most veteran runner there, it was pretty cool. We ran to the Sunrise hill and ran 4 of those hills. Than I ran home from the hills, and I was way, way tired.
Hill 1: 1.58, Hill 2: 1.51, Hill 3: 1.48, Hill 4: 1.44 Total Distance about 4.5 miles.
Afternoon Run- Ran down to high school, stretched and warmed up. As a team we ran to Artic Circle and back, on the way back I stopped at the bank and got a drink. I was dehydrated again. I walked most of the way home, but ran about .3 back to my house.
Total Distance was about 4.1 miles.
| | The heat really got to me today, hard! I ran from my house to the school and I was already feeling that today was going to suck. For our 800 meter warm-up I was already dying! Than we went out to do the Chuck-a-Rama run and I started out decent, but as I kept running the worse and more sick I felt. I was having stomach problems too and that wasn't helping at all. I cut the run short by running to my house instead of back to the school, but still got about 4.1 miles in.
I am excited to do the Wasatch Rendevous race though, if I am still on varsity by then.
| | Ran a 1 1/2 mile warm up to Hearts and back. Then we ran 4 800 grass loops, I felt really sick. It was probably because I had Jack in the Box today (not going to happen again). After the 8's I ran a 1 1/2 cool down.
1st 800: 2.55
2nd 800: 3.03
3rd 800: 2.53
4th 800: 2.49
| | Early Morning practice- Ran real easy, but was feeling tired from other days. Ran AC 3 miler.
Afternon Practice- Ran easy again, it was really humid! We were all supposed to run the 4 miler up Green Springs but a lot of people stopped at the Club house. I was going to, then I saw Zac going on so I went with him to run the 4.

| Race: |
Hurricane Invite (3 Miles) 00:18:50 | | I was feeling real tired from staying up real late, and running a lot of miles during the week. I felt like I ran pretty well though. I could have ran a lot faster, I need to start picking it up near the end of races more. I know what I am capable of I just haven't done what I need to do yet.
A lot of people(JV) did real well today and I was way happy for them. Some of the kids on our team were talking about taking some varsity runners off Varsity. That's not cool! I want those kids to know its not about beating your teammates. It's about running your own race and helping your team win.
| | Ran the Arctic Circle run this morning from my house. 3 miler.
After School practice- Baker told me that we were running a 6 miler after school but that wasn't the case. We ran 5 800's instead, I ran pretty well I guess. Before the 3rd one I didn't cool down at all and paid the price in my time. Then I ran a 1 1/2 mile cool down with Ellsworth.
1st 800: 2.43, 2nd 800: 2.48, 3rd 800: 3.01, 4th 800: 2.56, 5th 800: 2.49
| | Afternoon Practice- We ran 5 Sunrise hills today. I felt like I did real well today. I prepared a lot today by drinking a lot of water before and it really helped.
1st hill: 2.17, 2nd hill: 2.14, 3rd hill: 2.19, 4th hill: 2.14, 5th hill: 2.08
| | Morning Practice- I started running at about 6:07 this morning. I ran from my house and did the Arctic Circle run. I like running by myself in the morning in the dark, I stay more relaxed and think about a lot of things.
Afternoon Practice- I thought we were going to do Anarobic Threshold but once I again things changed. We just did an easy run out to the church in Washington. I ran with Jeff most of the way and the last mile I pushed a little harder. I think I have gotten to the point in the season where I feel in shape, but still need to build on it and get a lot faster.
4 miler: 30.14
| | Easy 5 miler mall run today. I ran by Zac, Monty, Kimzey, Baker, and Ruth most of the time. I stopped by Millcreek to get water from Holt. I was dying right before I got to the water, so the water was very nice. I was starting to feel sick near the end of the run, but it was an easy day so its all good.
| | 3 miles this morning.
4 hot miles after school.
Personal Philosphy- 3 or 4 miles is good enough the day before a race, so I'm not so tired.

1000: 3.28
1200: 4.48

| Race: |
Cedar Tri Meet (3 Miles) 00:18:49, Place overall: 25 | | I felt weird during the race, I think the elevation jacked me up. I did alright today, but I need to work on actually racing in these meets instead of just running meets. I need to pick people off! It's a work in progress right now. I'm going to grow out my beard for now on. I need it for another movie and it seems that I run better with it, like at Wasatch Back.
| | Coach gave an inspirational talk to all the boys. It was fantastic! After the speech Monty took off and I followed. I ran behind and by Monty until Foremaster. Foremaster kicked my butt! I couldn't run very far on it because my calves were tightning like crazy. After this I had a water break at the car wash, and ran it in back to the school. I think I started out too fast with Monty.
Run Time: 52.40
| | Ran to the high school this morning then did the usual Arctic Circle. Total for me was 4 miles.
Afternoon Practice- Ran 7 hills today! I was really tired running out there and my first couple of skills were really slow. I had no motor while running the hills. Baker ran by me or near me for the last couple so I ran a lot faster. On the run back to the school I was dying from heat and tiredness! I guess this whole afternoon run was a total of 7.32 miles.
Hill 1- 2.36, Hill 2- 2.28, Hill 3- 2.39, Hill 4- 2.28, Hill 5- 2.14, Hill 6- 2.10, Hill 7- 2.04.

| | The original plan was that I was going run from mile 11 back to mile 9 by myself on the Half-Marathon course, and run from 9 to the end of the half-Marathon with my dad. This would get me a total of 6 miles. Well the race started late and that really screwed things up. I ran from mile 11 to mile 9 with Mike Schram. He got tired of waiting at mile 9, and later so did I so I ran to the mile 8 marker and Mike was there too. We waited a while for any runners to come by. Clyde, Holt, were the first to run by. A little later Dustin Ence ran by, then a little later Ryan Newman. Finally my dad came running to the 8 mile marker. I took off with him and Mike stayed to wait for his wife. So I had already ran 3 miles before I met up with my dad to run the last 5.
2 mile run with Mike to marker 9: 14.35
1 mile run from marker 9 to 8: 7.20
(last 5 miles of Half- Marathon splits:)
1. 6.26
2. 6.54
3. 6.27
4. 6.49
5. 7.14 8 mile time: 56.01
It was a really good workout and we ran back to our truck which was 2 miles away from the finish line. So I got 10 miles in.
| | Stayed up on Cedar Mountain for most of Labor day. I ran with my dad this morning, it was a nice easy run. It was good altitude training again!
| | Jeff said this workout was about 7.5 miles, sounds good to me. We ran Firestation Hills. I pushed through all 10 of them. On the run back I was getting real hot, but picked it up near the end.
HILLS:
1. 54 (seconds)
2. 52
3. 50
4. 51
5. 50
6. 48
7. 47
8. 50
9. 48
10. 46

| | Morning Practice-
Ran from my house to the high school for an extra mile, then ran with RJ to Arctic Circle.
Afternoon Practice-
We did Anarobic Thresholds today for practice. I was so tired before we even started, I think this is the sorest I have been all year. I ran the warm-up with Jeff and ran most of the hard middle part with Jeff as well. I should have pushed harder in the middle but I was so tired. My middle time was 12.43, after the middle part I took a little break and got cooled down with ice and water. Ran with Fre on the way back to the high school.
| | Ran a DI loop warmup with Jeff mostly. Got back and had to run 4 1200's. I was already WAY sore before we even started the first 1200. I should have pushed harder on each one but I was too sore. Ran a 1200 cool down after the 1200s.
1200s-
1. 5.06
2. 5.06
3. 5.01
4. 4.48
| | Easy 3 this morning, RJ saw me so thats proof that I ran it.
3 mile repeats after school today. I was already having stomach problems during school and I knew it would carry over into practice. I didn't prepare well so I didn't run well, its as simple as that. Goold past out right before our 3rd repeat! It was pretty freaky! An ambulance came and everything.
.9 repeats:
1. 5.33
2. 5.45
3. 5.28
| | Started out fast, died in the middle, and finished strong.
| | 3 Early this morning.
AT today for Afternoon Practice. Started real, real easy and then hauled for the middle (long) part. I started out with Jeff during the middle, passed him then passed Jordan and caught up close to Steve O., Monty, and Bake.
Warm-up: 5.58
Hard Part Middle: 17.42
cool down: 5.01
| | Missed practice becuase I had some Multi-Media stuff I needed to finish that was due. I didn't end up running till 8:30 at night. I ran pretty much everywhere around my neighborhood to get 3 miles in then I ran 6 Striders at Panorama Ele.

| Race: |
Murray Invite (3.1 Miles) 00:20:16, Place overall: 16 | | It wasn't rainy or this year but it was still fun. I really like the Murray course. Its hard to move up with so many people and obstacles in the way. I ran into a parked car, not very hard though. I should have pushed harder. I finished right behind WILLY.
| Race: |
Provo Bulldog Invite (3.1 Miles) 00:20:49, Place overall: 40 | | This was the weirdest race I have ran all season. There were parts were I was having a way fast race and others where I was dead. I didn't know what the course was at all! All of our boys teams did real well, its very exciting!
I thought I was finishing the race when I really wasn't. so I started kicking it to the finish line then I saw that I had a big loop left and I died. Everyone that I passed up during my kick to the not finish passed me back up. Later I go pissed and passed up a lot of people and finished strong. I think if i didn't pick up it so much on the wrong loop I would have ran about a 19.50 min race, because I would have paced myself better and I wouldn't have died. I am WAY excited for my next race and to be running with such a close JV team. My dad said that there was a 17 second spread between are top 8 JV runners. I know that I will a part of that next race.

| | TODAY WAS MY BIRTHDAY!
I ran to the school in the morning, and ran close behind Zac for the 3 miler acrtic cirlce run. I pushed really hard pretty much the whole time. Run time: 27.14
Afternoon Run- Pyramid Day, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1000, 800, 600. I wasn't feeling good at all even when we did are 2 mile warm up. I was feeling sick to my stomach and my tendon was hurting bad. For the first part of the pyramid I let pain enter my mind too much, for the last couple I got mad and kicked it. Holt talked to me about certain things and now I am really focused on what I need to do.
600: 2.08, 800: 3.03, 1000: 3.33, 1200: 5.12, 1000: 3.14, 800: 2.45, 600: 2.03
Thanks to all the XC runners who came to my surprise party: RJ, Steve O, Monty, FRE, Zac, Ethan, Ruth, and Amanda.

| Race: |
Richfield Invite (3 Miles) 00:18:52 | | It was a crazy hilly race but seemed short by alittle bit. I ran a lot better today than I have in the last couple of races. It was cool that I could run this well with no stretching before and being sore from the weeks workouts. WE took 1st and Trevor Thompson, Kory Kimzey, Eric Goold and Z all finished in the top 10.
| | Ice Cream day! Easy Day! Hurray!
| | Easy 3 this morning.
AT Dog Pound- WE took our pictures at practice today, it was pretty cool. I pushed pretty hard through the whole middle, easy at the beginning and end. Middle time: 17.55

Swiss Days 5K (3.1 Miles) 00:19:05, Place overall: 18, Place in age division: 10 | | I don't know what was up with me, I felt like I was pushing hard the whole time. I guess I was still tired from the weeks earlier workouts. I didn't start out very fast at all, and I really pushed for the last mile. My arch was hurting and it was annoying, I massaged it right after I finished.
1st mile: 6.19
2nd mile: 6.20
last 1.1 miles: 6.25 19:05.4(6:08 Min/Mile)
I need to start our faster!

| | We were supposed to run 8 but my calf was hurting and I was feeling sick. So about 3.5 miles into it I ran into some bushes and went to the bathroom. I felt better after, then since I was so behind everyone and I was still hurting I followed some deer tracks and swam in the river for a little bit. Lets hope my calf gets better.

| Race: |
Cedar Invite (3 Miles) 00:18:44, Place overall: 31 | | I ran faster last year for this race, I suck! I would like to say that my calf had a lot to do with my slow time, but that wouldn't be true. I just don't know whats wrong with me! It's so cool to see how fast and close together both our boys teams are. I just wish I could play a bigger part in it.
| | LAST MORNING RUN! I ran it a litttle easier than usual.
2 mile warm up. Zac almost got nailed by some crazy lady in a car, it was sweet! Zac gave the car a little "stiff arm" and prevented any injury.

2. 2.56
3. 2.56
4. 2.54

| | Easy 23 minute run with JV.
| Race: |
Snow Canyon Region (3 Miles) 00:18:57, Place overall: 10, Place in age division: 10 | | I finished 10th at region again just like last year. Except last year I was a lot faster! My prediction for the JV race came true, we had the top 13 runners. Our Varsity dominated too we had all 7 of our runners in the top 9.
REGION CHAMPS BABY!!
I am going to workout with my dad after state. He's going to help me figure out why I have sucked lately. He thinks I need to lose weight so I'm going to work on that.
| | I felt real tired, but it was a good run. Later my dad, Ryan, and I went scouting out on Utah hill and saw about 40 deer. We saw some big Bucks so it was sweet!
| | I did some speed work today! I was trying out some shoes I found in my downstairs to see if I want to wear them in the mile in track. Ran about a 2.1 mile warm-up, 4 small loops at Panorama Elementary(not sure how long they are). I ran these loops a little faster than a 800 pace. After I did about another 2.1 mile cool down.
1st lap: 1.51
2nd lap(backwards): 2.00
3rd lap: 1.55
4th lap(lower track): 2.01
| | I ran pretty well, with 5 fartlicks over the course of the run. We were only supposed to run 3 fartlicks but I ran 2 early and wanted to stay with Jeff so I ran all 3 with him.
| | Hard to run felt out of shape!
| | Ran up by the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve to see if there was anything left of my deer hyde, hoofs, and other crap. There wasn't anything, the Coyotes took it all which I expected. I ran fast at the end!
| | 4 miles AT. It was my fastest AT all year so far. Thats kind of sad!
5.31
middle: 17.26
4.54

| | First time running in a while. I thought I was only going to run 5 miles. I got to the 2 1/2 turn around point and bent down to tie my shoe and I saw Jeff running up so I ran with him for most of the 7.8 miles. We saw 2 Deer rib cages and 2 Deer hydes and other crap on the run as we got to the desert after running over washington parkway. Dumb Hunters! They should take all that crap out furher so no one has to smell it. This was a good beginning run to get me back in shape.
I have 4 goals that I want to achieve before New Years:
1. Run under 40 minutes in the Phoenix 10k(Turkey Trot)
2. Lose weight!
3. Shoot and kill a cow Elk.
4. Get into shape and be ready to have an awesome track season!
| | Today was supposed to be an AT run over sunrise, down foremaster, and back to the school. I started out pretty good. I couldn't keep the same pace though. So I wouldn't really call what I ran today an AT run.
| | Ran 2 miles for the run-a-thon, and a 400.
| | I ran on my treadmill today. It was really boring and harder than I expected. I cranked the speed up a couple of times so I kind of did some speed work. I lifted weights too.
| | I have decided to run on my own for a while. I ran with about 4.3 miles I think around my area. I ran a pretty fast pace!
| | I was in mesa for Thanksgiving and on the day after we ran around this mountain starting at the Usery Park. This was my dad, Jake, my cousin Joe, and my uncle Rick. We ran on this bike looking trail pretty much the whole time. My dad, Joe, and I would always run ahead for some good running then wait for my brother and uncle to catch up. It was a 9 mile loop and I ran about 8 miles of it. When I was running, it was a fast pace!
This run actually happened on friday not thursday. I just don't want to rewrite it now.
| | I ran the easy 2 mile D.I. Loop. I ran it pretty fast and the cold weather got to my lungs and I was weezing after. It was a good fast run!
| | Mr. Esplin was talking about track in math class today. This got me kind of excited for Track. Coach Holt + Coach Esplin-Cappy= Great Track Season. I ran 3 miles today and felt pretty good, I got a little tired at the end though. I felt out of shape, but I am going to keep running about 3 times a week to get back in shape. Hopefully Fre and I will hook up for some runs.
| | I played football after school with a bunch of "fottball players" who thought they were way good. It turns out they weren't that good. I ran in the cold tonight, a 2 miler around my neighborhood. 14.00min run
| | This morning I was going to watch my buddy HINTZE play City League Basketball. His game was at 8 in the morning. So I decided if I was going to wake up this early on a saturday morning, I might as well run. I think it was 22 degrees when I left my house. IT WAS WAY FREAKIN COLD! After the run I went and watched Tason and P-Strat(XC Buddies) lose to HINTZES team.
| | DOG POUND- I felt pretty good today and Ally was here today.
28.56
| | I ran after football. Easy run around the hood.
