| | I had to get out and run atleast a mile for the first day of the new year.
| | Tried out the new Exalts! My right leg keeps having problems but things should get better.
| | Ran a little over amile in the snow on Cedar Mountain with some shoe chains.
| | I don't like running in the cold and keep having leg problems but I think I am coming out of it and I just need to stretch more.
| | I did an anaerobic threshold. With a mile and a quarter warm up, 2 hard(probably around a 6:10 pace), and a mile and a half cool down.
| | Ran 9 miles of the new STG Half Marathon course.
| | I ran in the desert with my Dad out on the Prospector trail. No injury problems.
| | Ran out in Corral Canyon and Hell Hole.
| | Did 10 second intervals with grass cool down.

| Race: |
STG Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:35:43 | | Well I got sick with a weird cough so I drank a lot of orange juice. The morning of the race I had a soar throat. I just pushed along in the race even though I felt I was going to throw up. It was miserable. I also knew the first 7 miles were way harder than the last 6 so I tried to run harder in the last 6. I bent over and threw up quickly after I finished the race. It was pure orange juice from the day before.

| | After a week of being sick I was able to get out and run with my Dad in the snow by my cabin.
| | I ran out in the desert by Washington Parkway with some teammates. We are going to start doing trail runs on Monday. I'm excited.

| | Ran out to that one park with my Dad.
| | Ran with the PVHS track team after an observation day at the school. Bad workout for me, stomach issues. Look forward to the weekend, where I run a ton or hardly at all.
| | I went to Provo for the weekend. I called my buddy Justin Robbins to take me on a trail. We ran across Utah Lake and back.
| | Ran my coral canyon loop with Shark, Skyler, Jenecee and Bri.
| | I ran 2.5 to try and loosen up my legs, kind of worked. Then I ran Ice House with Jenecee, Shark, and Skyler.
| | Ran to a Dixie State game and back. I added a tempo half up hill mile at 6:33 mile pace.
| | Wanted to run 10 settled for a slower 8.
| | Ran out above Grafton to the Eagle Crag trail with the R Man.
| | Ran part of the Turkey Farm road.
| | Man oh man I hate running on the track. First day of track with a few teammates. Ran a pyramid thing with Luke Peck and Shark.

1200: 5:02

3. 1:20
4. 1:23
5. 1:13
6. 1:10
The team did 10 but I backed up to 6 since I am doing Dogtown.
| | Well I was running the Dogtown Half Marathon but I had the same calf problems I had year ago. I do not usually have calf problems. 2 years in a row Hell Hole has destroyed me. This time I decided not to further my injury so I stopped after 8. I need to get ready for Lake to Lake now.
| | I jogged a little with the team but mainly biked to get their 1200 splits. I do not know what the freak is going on with my left leg.
| | I still don't know what the deal is. I tried jogging. I even participated in 200s the team ran but my left calf kept tighning up
| | Jogged witht the team in the rain.
| Race: |
Lake to Lake Relay (51.8 Miles) 05:42:43, Place overall: 3, Place in age division: 3 | | Great race! I ran the best way I could with my calf/leg injury. I probably ran the best I ever have mentally because my left calf is still messed up. My team was out of shape or injured so we did better than expected. We beat my Dad's team in the last seconds.
Leg 4 (5.22 miles)
Mile 1- 6:17
Mile 2- 6:42
Mile 3- 6:36
Mile 4- 6:49
Mile 5: 7:06
.16- 1:01 total: 34:31/6:41 pace
Leg 8 (3.36)
Mile 1- 7:23
Mile 2- 7:33
Mile 3- 7:09
.36- 2:36 total: 24:37/7:20 pace
| | Jogged and did some 400s but not really fast. Its hard for me to be patient and not run when I probably shouldn't.
| | I was smart enough to stay away from running the speed stuff. I still need more time to rest my calf. I did do some biking that seemed more beneficial.
| | Ran from Dana Point to San Clemente pier. Everything felt fine until about 4 1/2 miles into the run but then my calf had the same problems. Beautiful run close to the beach though.
| | I went mountain biking with my Dad but his bike got a flat. So we kind of took turns running and biking.
| | Jogged while some of the XC team did a work out. I could barely tolerate jogging with my dumb calf.
| | I didn't feel as much pain on my run today. We ran up past Tuacahn and snuck into Snow Canyon State Park. I ran mainly with Luke. I showed some progress. Now I just need to avoid doing anything stupid before saturdays race.
| Race: |
Zion Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 01:38:25, Place overall: 22, Place in age division: 2 | | It was a great race considering how injured I am. Not only did I have calf problems I now have a left foot problem. Team Deckinator won with a score of 42. We did Angels Landing after.
| | Ran out to Dino Cliffs with some of the team. I probably shouldn't be running at all but I get really bored.
| | Ran 3 miles coming down from the Eagle Crag hike. I probably shouldn't have but everyone I went on the hike was so I followed. My calf problem is almost non-existent. Now I think I have a stress fracture in my foot. Why can't I get a break?
| | So I obviously haven't been running. Starting with Dog Town I had a calf injury. I kind of rested it but kind of ran on it still. I ran the Lake to Lake relay and Zion Half Marathon on that bad calf causing a stress fracture in my foot. Since I figured I would probably run on that stress fracture still I decided to get the plate and the screws taken out my leg to force me to rest the stress fracture.
I walked 3.4 on my first attempt at rehab.
| | I walked to the University pool to swim with some teammates. Swimming is hard! On my walk I tried jogging probably about 800 meters and I enjoyed it but it was painful. I shouldn't have done the jogging because my leg is not ready but oh well.
| | YESSSS! I ran a solid 20 minutes when I was afraid to even jog. I am not feeling too much pain so hopefully things will work out and I can run decent at Moab RRR.
| | Ran slowly but consistently. Everything felt ok, just a little sore in the left ankle region.
| | Tested out my new Altra trail running shoes in the desert above Green Springs. Felt great and my ankle did ok.
| | High altitude training with my Dad on Cedar Mountain. I am starting to get back into the swing of running.

| Race: |
Ogden Marathon 2014 (26.2 Miles) 04:18:30 | | Well I started out great, conservative and hitting solid 7 minute miles for the first 13 miles but then my recently operated ankle started to hurt. My doctor who did the surgery advised me against even jogging for another 2 weeks. Once I started to feel that ankle pain I backed off and pretty much walked the rest of the marathon. I ran occasionally but just cramped in my inner thighs. I just learned to enjoy the powerade offered at the aid stations because I usually don't drink any when I actually race. I just didn't want to further any injury especially since I have been injury plagued for the last 3 months. So all in all I hated the experience but its all good.
| | Ran slow 6 but my bones and ankle were hurting so progressively got slower.
| Race: |
Midnight 5k (3.1 Miles) 00:21:50 | | I just ran this easy. My ankle is still recovering.
