| | Today for cross country practice we met at Sugarhouse Park. Today was my first day back for not running for exactly one week and not being at practice for almost two weeks. We did the cemetery loop. I was really pushing it though, mainly to finish because I was exhausted as soon as I got to the cemetery. My first few miles were the fastest which made me really mad because I always end fastest. But for it being my first day back it was good. Overall it was a horrible run that seemed abnormally long, but oh well. Tomorrow I am going to push myself so I get my speed back like I never took the two weeks off. BILL, I WANT YOU TO MAKE ME KEEP UP WITH YOU THE ENTIRE FARTLEK WORKOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I got home I did my core. But during the run my knees and ankles did hurt a lot and they never did warm up. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/103388336 |

| | Today for cross country practice we met at wheeler farm. We started with a two mile warm up instead of a three mile warm up. Thank goodness. Then we went and sort of did a stretching circle. I was feeling OK until this point, I was pretty much just tired. The workout was 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3 with a recovery if I remember correctly is 1,2,2,1,2,2,1,2,2 but I am not totally sure. When I was done with that I was totally wiped out, it felt like I was totally pushing way hard but then when I was finishing out the lap I noticed that I was going the same pace as I was when I was pushing it so I probably could of gone faster. Then we did an adventure run of running through the farm. When I had about a half mile to go, I stopped and ran through the sprinklers to cool off but then I got totally soaked:) When I was running I noticed that both of my knees hurt way bad, they even hurt to walk and they never warmed up. Then when I got home I did my weights and my core. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/103628468 |

| | Today for cross country practice we met at the horrible trail across the street from the zoo. It sucks because it seems uphill the entire time even though it is only like 3 miles long, or at least that is as far as I went today. Going to the turn around I was going pretty slow until Amanda passed me then I spent the rest of the time until the turn around trying to catch up to her. I never really did though. When I was going back I really tried to push the pace so going there I was doing like an 11 minute pace...... I know ridiculously slow but then when I was done my average pace was low 9 minutes which is ok because I am still really trying to get my endurance and my speed back. Then when we were done we did arm swings, step ups, wall sits, and our core. Then when I got home I had the best spaghetti ever!!!!!!!! and I finally got my junior prom pictures:) then I did the rest of my core and I did my leg weights. | | Today for cross country we met at the old K mart and drove up to Jeremy Ranch because today was the bike and run. My partner is Sarah. How the bike and run works is the two of you as a pair has one bike, then every mile you alternate biking a mile and running a mile. So when I was running a mile Sarah was biking a mile. It was a good run for me today because I really tried to push on the miles that I was running, doing sort of a speed change but when I was off I was biking instead. We did that for 10 miles but since five of them were biking it doesn't count as 10 running miles so after the workout I went to the gym since it was really really hot outside and ran three miles on the elliptical to get an even 10. Then when I came home I did my core. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/104079279 |

Today for Cross Country practice we met at Liberty Park. We started with a lap warm up then a sort of stretching circle. Mostly it was everyone was in a circle then everybody stretches at there own pace. Then we broke into the groups for firemen. My group was group 2 with a variety of people. We probably had the biggest group because I only had to sprint like 4 times at most. Then we stopped and waited for the other group to get back, then we did a 2 mile cool down to finish out the day at 5 miles. I felt like I was pushing throughout the entire workout even though today was not a hard workout at all. My average pace was sub 8 minute miles so that means my speed is coming back, just in time for school. Then when I came home I did my core and my leg weights. Since we got done so early, I got to watch the entire episode of Dinosaur Train!!!!!!!!!!! After Dinosaur Train I took a 15 minute ice bath for tomorrows race. Charitable Trust 5K (Minuteman) (3.14 Miles) 00:22:06, Place overall: 61, Place in age division: 14
Today was the Charitable Trust 5K also known as the Minuteman 5K. I started out feeling sick to my stomach but when I got warming up it started to go away. I warmed up with Kevin, Dylan, and Vuong. Then we went to the bathroom, met up with the rest of the team and did drills and strides. The strides I was pushing them because when we went to the bathroom I totally lost my warm up. So we went to the starting line and the CANNON went off!!! It was a freaking Cannon and not a gun. But anywase I started out fast because I wanted to see how fast I could push my first mile, I was right with Kevin and Vuong. For our first mile was 6:23 which is good but it was a bit down hill, the second mile was a bit off because my Garmin said 2 miles about 20 meters before the 2 mile sign but my watch said 13:15 or something and they yelled it as 13:30. Up till this point I was with Kevin and Vuong. At about the mile mark Abigail caught up to me and stuck with me until she, Kevin and Vuong broke away from my on the uphills and I just couldn't keep up with them. At this point my goal was just to finish doing a sub 7 minute mile. That last hill at the very end was a bit longer than a half mile because the race was 3.14 (pi) haha instead of 3.1 so we did a bit more up hill. When I got to the up hill I really sprinted it all out because Kylie was coming up on me and I didn't want her to pass me. Then me, Bill, Kevin, Vuong, Kylie, and her dad all did a mile and a half cooldown and went and ate our breakfast:) Then when I got home I did my core.... No leg weights today Here is my Garmin Connect: Warm Up http://connect.garmin.com/dashboard Race http://connect.garmin.com/activity/104963121 cooldown http://connect.garmin.com/activity/104963134

Today for cross country it was the first day of hill week or "hell weak"-Bill Cobler. We started the week out by meeting at sugarhouse park. We started with a big grass lap as a warm up then we jogged over to the starting spot. While we were waiting for everyone to finish the lap we stretched for a little while and we waited for bill to be done putting the course up. We did a total of six hills where they went on the hill closest to 21st south we ran up the hill half way, turned right ran down that to the bottom made at sharp turn right again ran up half of it again then turned right again and ran up the hill again. Then we stayed on top of the hill for like 50 meters or something then we did switch backs down the hill and ran to the finish. The entire hill is exactly .35 of a mile. We did that 6 times. My goal was to finish right with or in front of vuong. I stayed with him pretty much throughout the entire thing until the down hills and the flat parts because he sprinted ahead of me. My times were 2:30, 2:28, 2:30, 2:30, 2:30, 2:30. I was really consistent on them but on the last up hills on all of them I think I could have pushed a bit more because from that point on it is all downhill. Then when we were done with that we ran to another weird part on the state course. It is right after the pond and Bill said we were jogging it so I was not expecting to go fast. For the first one I did only jog it but then on the second one I sped up a ton. Then the Varsity did a four mile cooldown around the park. Since I accidentally turned off my garmin distance thing the timer kept going so one of my miles it thought was way slow but then I realized the distance was not getting any bigger so I turned it on again. After this I was totally dead so I was not going to finish it out to 10. When I came home I did my core and my leg weights. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/104963154 Tonight after peer court, my mom picked me up and we went to Steiners. She wanted to workout and I needed more miles. So I ran 4.5 miles on the treadmill at an easy pace, just a nice easy run.

Today for cross country I knew it was going to be a long run because I forgot my Garmin so I wouldn't know how far I ran. So we met at the JCC trail and ran out almost to the 4 mile mark, about to the 3.75 mark and ran back. Since we were at JCC though, we had to pick up the rocks, about the size of baseballs or bigger, I supposedly grabbed too small rocks so I had to go back and get bigger ones... So I got the ones about have the size of my hear. Then when we get to the lookout point we drop them off at the team rock pile, the pile is getting huge. But when we got to the monster huge humongous hill we had to run up that 10 times. I was trying to do the first 5 nonstop but I made it to the 4th one but then I had to stop at the bottom and catch my breath. I was also trying to go all of them with out walking but I had to walk about 20 feet on the last 3. Then when we were finally done we still had about 2.5 miles to run which absolutely sucked. I ran those last miles with Dakota, Annie and Chris. When Annie and I got to all of the river crossing things we stopped and like went swimming. We covered our face in it, we covered our hair our legs, and arms. But by the time I was at the bottom I was feeling great because I was not dyeing of heat stroke anymore. Then when I could move again later in the day when I got home I did my core. When I was at my grandmas waiting for my two aunts and my new married into the family uncle to arrive at my grandmas house, I decided to run on her treadmill. I ran 2.5 miles at a steady pace. My miles where 7:48, 7:36 and then a 7:08 for the last half mile. Good run, tried to stay on my toes the entire time but it was difficult. |

| | Today for cross country we did the hike up to lake Blanche. We started out doing fine but then randomly it got freaking steep so me Dakota, Bennion, and Chris all broke away from the group and went a faster pace than them because we wanted to get to the lake. When we got there Dakota and I went down to the lake and skipped rocks. I failed miserably. Then we went down to the waterfall then back to our stuff. Then we took a quick ice bath in the river making my legs feel really refreshed. Then I had to go but no one would go back down with me so I waited for everyone else to get back from the snow. Then when everyone one else was done at the snow I freaking booked it down the mountain to go school shopping because they had been waiting for like over 90 minutes. |

In the morning before my yard sale, I went for three miles around the neighborhood. Then I came home and did my leg weights. I am going to go for another run later and do my core later. I was hoping to get to fifty miles this week but the week ended, I thought the entire day that it was friday not saturday so I was thinking I could do the ten mile jump instead of five mile jump. But I could only do the five mile jump this week. So I went four miles from my house, down to sugarhouse park and did one lap on the road then I went down a half mile then turned around and ran home. I found these people who did the coolest hill workout today. They brought like a 100 feet tarp and when the sprinklers at the park were on they put the tarp down and used it as a slip n slide and when they got to the bottom they had to sprint up the hill. We should do that for a workout!!!!!! |

| | Today since I had to go and mow both of my grandparents lawn, I figured I could run a little at each of my grandparents houses. So I started at my house, ran a out a half mile and back. Then I went to the non married grandma and ran 2 miles at her house around her block. Her block is exactly a half mile around but the hill on it is as big as footlocker. Then I went to the married grandma and ran out a mile and back. It is exactly a mile to Cottonwood Complex from her house so I did that. Then when I got home I ran out a half mile and back. Towards the end my legs were feeling like lead probably because of the constant stop and restart. I did stretch whenever I was done to try to stop from being sore but it didn't work towards the end. On each I was really really pushing to get some speed into these little runs. |

Today for cross country practice we met at sugarhouse park. We started the workout with a warm up of running the state course. Since today was boot camp I was expecting a really hard workout. But in the end it wasn't that bad. So after the warm up we jogged over to the hill and we ran some hill loop that was just under .20 or something of a mile. Then Varsity did 10 hills and JV did 8. I did the 10 loops. I started out slow but then on each I increased my time at least by 10 seconds and my goal was to pass one person per loop. I did so. By about the 7th one I was totally sprinting on the downhills and on the uphills I was going way faster than the first one. Then we went over to the soccer field and did 2 sets of circuits. After those it was almost time for me to go because I had an appointment at 10 so I had to leave at 9:30. For my cool down I did a mile. Then I came home and did my hamstring weights and holding my knee up for a minute thingy. Then after school registration I am going to do my core and go for another 3.5 miles. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/106790545 Tonight I went for a little run on my own. I tried to push the pace because I wanted to be done. I started out running down to sugarhouse park, do a lap on the inside of the park. Run back up to my house then finish out whatever I had to do after. When I had finished my lap in the park, almost every muscle was sore so I stopped and stretched for a little bit then ran back up. Stopped at my house and went to the bathroom then finished out the last half mile. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/106906544

| | Today for cross country we met at Liberty Park for the dutch oven breakfast. Since my grandma is going into surgery today, my mom had to pick her up and take her so I was dropped off at Liberty early. So since I was there at 7 in the morning I decided to do a lap around the park. When I was done with that lap some people from the team was there. Then we started the workout. We did a lap warm up then stretched. Jogged over to the starting line and did I think it was 6 strides. Then went over to the starting line. Our speed workout was timed 800, 800 recovery, timed mile then 800 recovery then timed 800 then cool down. My times were 3:11, 6:56, 3:11. My times were way slow, I don't know why but I am slowing way down. In the other race I ran my first mile was a 6:23 and that was only like two weeks ago. For the cooldown I only did .75 of a mile from the drinking fountain, not including jogging to the drinking fountain because I just decided to stop at 8 miles for today. I need to go for another run later tonight. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/107110994 |

Today for cross country practice we met at the park n ride to go up millcreek canyon to the pipeline trail. I started out way slow with Natalie then we passed some people to catch up to Bill and Abigail. Once we caught back up to them we really picked up the pace. My goal today was to go faster today on this trail than I have ever. Which I did by like 3 minutes or something. But going there I did really good until I twisted my ankle on some rock and I really had to slow the pace down, thats when I lost Bill. From that point on the run was really painful to the finish. When I got to the turnaround point I waited for 3 minutes then some people came and ran by that I knew so I waited for them then we all as a group went back. But their pace was to slow for me today so I passed them and went by. Abigail and Amanda went back before me and were about a fourth of a mile ahead of me. My goal was to catch up to them. When we finally got to the street I was about 12 feet away from Abigail but then when we were going up the huge hill to get the extra that we needed she totally sprinted it I didn't try to match that. Gavin finished the last bit with me to keep me going at a good pace so I didn't slow down too much going up the hill. Then I went to my grandmas and did some of my core, then came home and finished out my core and did my hamstring machine thing and my holding my knee up for a minute thingy. Overall good run that I am glad that I pushed. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/107347331 After doing my core and my leg weights, I went for a cooldown 2 miles so I was not sore for tomorrows race.

East High Time Trial (2.5 Miles) 00:17:36, Place overall: 7, Place in age division: 6
Today since Dakota told me that practice started at 9:30 instead of 7:30, I got to sleep in. When in fact workout actually started at 7:30 so I arrived at Sunnyside park when everyone was leaving. When I got home I went for my own run, a short run at that because tonight is the Alumni run deciding who is going to be on Varsity for Saturdays race. So I started at my house, ran down to Sugarhouse Park. Went out one mile and stopped at the mile mark and did 10 strides that were like .08 of a mile. Sometimes more sometimes less. For my recovery for those, I walked around the tree two times. Then I ran home and when I got home I decided to add .25 of a mile to make it an even 3 miles. Alumni run here I come! http://connect.garmin.com/activity/107550065 PM: Today was the alumni run and the time trial to determine our first Varsity Team to show east for the first race on Saturday. So Annie and I went out for a mile and a half warm up, then we all as a sort of team did a stretching circle. Then we went down and jogged to the starting line. Since there was some rugby games going on we had to change the course a bit, change the starting line. So we all lined up and we started. I started out fast because I knew if I wanted to make Varsity I would need to get a good position from the beginning. So I was in a group with Dakota, Dylan, Me, Natalie, Voung, and Gio. I knew from then that I was in the top seven because Scott and Tomy were the only ones ahead of us. So I got ahead of the group but Dakota started to pull away and Natalie went with him. So Gio and Voung and I started to pick up the pace. Our first mile was 6:35. That was near my goal pace of 6:30 so I was proud of that. Then Voung started to pick up the pace with Dylan. Gio started to fall behind so I picked up the pace because I knew he could out kick me. So we were going around the pond and I counted my position and I was in fifth. So we go up the hill and Scott passes me. Bringing me to sixth place. Dylan at this point was about 10 feet away from me and didn't get any farther ahead than that the rest of the race. When we got to the top of the final hill I just kicked it in, with everything that I had left and I made Varsity!!!!!! I got sixth!! My overall time was a 17:36. Then I did a way short cooldown because I was feeling way sick, I did about a mile after the announcements. Premier Invitational (2.85 Miles) 00:20:28, Place overall: 49, Place in age division: 49
Today was our first cross country meet of the season and I ran varsity. I went up to the race determined not to be last and not to get nervous. So when I get there I put my shoes on and go over to Bills car and he gives me my varsity shorts that I have been waiting for, for like a year now. So I go and change into those and go on a one mile shake out run with Sarah. We go up the course a half mile then stop and cheer for the JV boys as they pass by. We go back down to the start of the race and put our racing shoes on, get water, take a potty break, and go cheer again as the JV girls pass. By this time it was only 9 in the morning so I had another hour to till I raced. Kevin, Scott and I go on a mile warm up and meet the rest of the Varsity Boys at the starting line. We do like 4 strides then line up. The gun goes off and no longer than 50 meters into the race Dylan falls hard and brings like three kids down with him but they don't restart the race because the officials didn't see it. I see if he is OK and we continue racing, at this time we have a horrible position. Dylan and I sprint a bit to catch up to the group again and we did. When I get to about the half mile up the canyon I start gagging like I am going to puke so I slowed down the pace a tiny bit and waited for it to go away, when it did I sped up the pace again. When we got to the mile mark or the turn around to the trail thingy my watch said 7:28 and that is 2 minutes faster than last year and the entire first like mile and a quarter is all uphill because the course goes first mile or so is uphill then last 2 is downhill. So when I get to the downhill I was still like second to last place and I wanted to be way farther up than that so I really try to pick up the pace. The boys in front of me were like 100 or 150 meters ahead of my so the odds were against me if I was going to catch up to them. So I picked up the pace and did catch one of them eventually but he stayed right behind me until the flat part where he could pass me which he did. Then some other kid I caught up to and did catch up to him. The kid who I passed but then repassed me I caught back up to in the last 5 meters of the race. As soon as I passed the finish line I felt like I was going to puke so I made it to the stream and I bent over gagging all over the place and coughing like no other but I didn't puke! Yay... I think what happened is I am not used to running in the heat so when I did it absolutely killed me because Varsity was running in the brutal heat with about half of it not shaded. When I felt better I cheered on the girls Varsity and ran a mile cooldown. Then went to peer court and straight to bed!!! Here is my Garmin Connect:

Today for cross country we met at Cottonwood Complex at the heat of the day to start getting used to running in the heat. So we started with a 2.13 mile warm up, then we stretched while waiting for bill to go out and mark all of the 800 spots. While he was doing that we stretched and went over and did 6 or 8 strides. I cant remember. So the workout was run the region course but break it up into intervals of 800s, if your 800 was faster than 3:30 then you get a 3:30 recovery but if they were slower than 3:30 you get a 4 minute recovery. My times went like this: 3:24, 3:14, 3:07, 3:27, 3:25, 3:14. I was feeling really good until about the 4th one because that one felt to me the longest because it didn't have as many hills and most of it was a long never ending line. The first one I was surprised with my placement because I was right behind Natalie and the only people in front of me was Scott, Ben, Tomy, and RJ. For all of the rest of them the placements went like this: Ben, Tomy, Scott, RJ, Natalie then me, so from the boys who are on the team today I got 3rd. My goal was to beat my region time on this, which I did and to stay within 30 meters of Natalie. I stayed within 30 meters on all but the 4th one. This workout didn't seem as bad to me as I thought that it would be, in fact it was one of my favorite speed workouts so far, and for doing them in the heat of the day I think my times were pretty good. Then for a cooldown we were supposed to do the regions course to learn it but Sarah and I stopped at 8 miles. So we did 2.15 miles of the region course, we would have finished it but the heat was getting to us and my left shin was really hurting. Overall a pretty fun and good workout. When I came home I did my core and my squats, holding my knee up for a minute thingy, and hamstring weights. Then I went for 2 miles, out one mile and back at a way slow pace because my hamstrings and pockets were way sore and stiff. | | Today for cross country practice we met at Sunnyside Park for the last summer workout of the year, the day before school starts:( So we started by running up sunnyside over on foothill and down to Guardsman. Then we did the Shriners run through the U campus. From the drinking fountain we went a little less than a mile out along 11th avenue to get an even 4. Then we came back the same way. I started out the run with Natalie and Kevin. At the light the rest of the team caught up to me. So Natalie, RJ, and Kevin and I went to the drinking fountain. We waited for the team to get there then I went along 11th avenue with Bill. My Garmin had to go a bit farther than Bills did so he was ahead of me coming back. He went up another street so I was ahead of him the rest of the run. My goal was to catch Taylor before the run was over. I caught up to Natalie, Taylor and chris going back up foothill. From foothill on I went the rest of the run with Taylor. This was the fastest pace I have ever done for 8 miles, I am very proud of that because it was in the heat of the day without stopping. When we got to the park we did our crunches and push ups. When I got home I did the rest of my core and went for a 2 mile slow run to even out the day. | | Today for cross country since it was the first day of school, we met at the track. We started with a mile warm up then went straight into 10 100 meter strides. On each of the strides I picked up the pace because I wanted to have a good workout today, until came the blisters. After the strides we did dynamic stretching so we jog 100 meters do the stretch while moving for 50 meters then stride out 50 meters, jog 100 meters go up to the bleachers and go up and down the stairs then repeat that. We did that 5 times, on those is when the blisters really hit and I slowed down a ton because of the pain and I got boxed in. On all of the stairs the entire team got like attacked by bees. We then went over to the hill and did 6 hills and I pushed way hard on the hills. Then we jogged over to the gully and did 2 laps as a cooldown and on those I went really really really slow. Then I came home and ran 3.5 miles on my own and did my hamstring weights, holding my knee up for a minute thingy and squats and my core. | | Today for cross country we met at the track again. We started with a mile warm up and a mile of speed changes. The workout was 3 3 minutes on where when the three minutes are up we stop and walk to the starting line and do a 3 minute standing recovery. I did my warm up with Sam and Dakota, when we got to the speed changes I did them with Taylor, well as soon as I caught up to him.So for the first one I started out with Natalie, our first 800 meter time was 2:57 so we made it like 10 meters past the 800 meter mark. I felt good on that one like I could have sped up the workout. So on the second one I started out ahead of Natalie, but behind Taylor. Since I need to be running by somebody to push me I decided to speed up to Taylor, I thought I could go faster so I sped up to RJ and we paced eachother for the last 700 meters. My 800 time for that was 2:55 and we got like 15 meters past the 800 meter mark. I am still in my goal range of finishing all of them within the 3 minutes and doing 800s or more for each. On the last one I started out ahead of RJ but behind Dylan. I started out way good but at about the 200 meter mark I totally crashed and slowed down the next 200. I realized if I wanted to make it in the 3 minutes I would need to speed up the next lap a bit. So on each 100 meters I sped up a little but then I heard RJ coming up on my shoulders so I sped up a ton and our 800 meter time was 2:52 so I did a negative split for that one and we got about 50 meters farther than the 800 meter mark. I felt good about todays workout, meaning I think I pushed. Then for a cooldown because I only had time for a short cooldown I did a mile and a half with Sarah at a slow pace. | | Today for cross country we met at the track for our 3rd day of school. We started the workout by running down to Liberty Park and the Varsity did a lap around to meet at the drinking fountain instead of going straight there. So when we got to the drinking fountain we had a stretching circle and got a drink. We then jogged over to the hill and did 4 hills. We broke into groups and I was in group 1. My group got last because we had the most people in it. We then jogged over to a drinking fountain and broke into groups again and we did 3 strides. We then had a meeting for ever about the upcoming season and how to race on the different courses and about morning workouts. After the meeting we jogged up to the track and did a big grass lap to finish out at 5. When I got home I did 2.5 miles then came home and did my squats, holding my knee up for a minute thingy and my hamstring weights. I then jogged 1.5 more miles as a cooldown. I couldn't do my core because I ran out of time in the day to do it. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/109605802 |

| | Today I slept in, I was planning on going for my run in the morning but I slept in till 8 and I had to watch That so Raven. So I went for a run around noon and it was really really hot. So I started out going along 19th east until 8th south. I turned down Sunnyside ave and went into the park. I was planning on going 3 miles out but instead I only went out 2 because I was dyeing of the heat. On the way back I wanted to be done so I picked up the pace because I had a double cheeseburger waiting for me when I was done:) When I got back I did my core. I will try to finish out the last 2 miles. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/109851917 |

Today I got up and really didn't want to go running. I kept delaying the run until like 2:30. I went on this run in total knowledge of how hot it was today. I really didn't want to go running today because I just felt really lazy. In the end I am glad I did go on a short little run. I started out running down to Sugarhouse Park, do a lap in the park and run home the same way. On this run I did try to push hard on the uphills though and the downhills. I took the flat areas at a nice tempo pace. When I got home I did my core and my squats, hamstring weights and holding my knee up for a minute thingy because I seem to have a better workout the day after I do the weights for some reason so I changed the day for this week because we have the meets on Wednesday and Friday. Today for cross country we met at the track and did a easy run. We started with a grass lap warm up then stretching. Then the varsity went up around the VA loop down passed guardsman way and into that cemetary. We did a lap in the cemetary and ran back to the track along 1300 east. I startted out with bill but he told us to push so I started out behind voung and worked my way passed him up to jaron, passed jaron and finished the run with chris and dylan. When we got back we did 2 300s. Then I did 4 miles on my own when I got home at a nice easy pace. I did my core when I got home. AM:
We started in the morning before school. Varsity ran down to sugarhouse park, go in the park and do an outside lap in the park. On the way there I was doing a good pace but when I got to the park I didnt want to go in alone so I waited for caden, abigail and anders to come and do the lap with me. Abigail and I broke away from the other 2 on the back along 15th east. We did a slow pace going back but every mile we sped up the pace by like 30 seconds. When I got back to the track I did a little extra to get 6.
PM:
At practice since we have a race tomorrow we did a little speed. We started with a mile warm up then a mile of speed changes that I was really pushing on so abigail wouldnt pass me. So after those I told bill that my shin (the bone) was really hurting and was hurting this morning also. He didnt want me to do the speed on the track because of the punding so I was just supposed to do laps on the football field until everybody was done. I think I did 9 and I got an even 4 for this afternoon which I was pround of because it was really hurting then I iced it a ton. When I got home I had to immediately do homework so I didnt get my core in but I did do my hamstring weights. While doing homework I iced my shin and took ibuprofin. Then I took a 10 minute ice bath for the race tomorrow. Morning: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/110922986 Afternoon: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/110922983 |

Cross Country Pre Region 2011 (3.03 Miles) 00:20:48, Place in age division: 7 | | Today was our Pre-Region race. I started the day with a mile and a half warm up with Voung and Caden. We tried to stay on flat areas as much as we possibly could. Then we lined up for ever because they kept postponing our race so we went and got water. So finally the gun goes off and we start. My goal for today was to get a much better first mile and start than we did at the Settlement Canyon one. So we started and I got a way good start. I was with Voung for almost the entire race. Our first mile was 6:16. I think that was way good and for my goal time that was was fast. So we tried to stay at that pace. He sped up a bit so I let him go. He got away from me on the downhills but I caught back up to him on all of the uphills. When we hit the 2 mile mark I didn't look at my watches time but our pace was 6:55 so I said lets pick up the pace so we did. When we got to going up bessy we were about 100 meters behind Dakota. But when we got to the top of bessy we were with him. All three of us gave up mentally at that point. So we took the downhill as a recovery and then we booked it in. We gave everything we had left. Then when we were done Bev had otter pops for us at the finish line:) Thank you so much and Caden had cookies for us... Thank you so much!!!!!!!! Then I did a slow mile and a half cooldown.
