| | Am: This morning we had a morning workout. We started with jogging up to sunnyside park and doing a lap in the park and meeting by the white tree. Then we did 6 strides and then a unknown or whatever its called fartlek workout. I ran with Dakota, Voung, and Dylan. Then after we did that for about 2 miles, we saw susannah biking to the U!!!!! Then we jogged around the park and did a lap cooldown. This morning we did 5.5 miles. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/dashboard PM: In the afternoon since Scott and I had to leave early we ran down to Liberty with RJ before everyone else. Then when we got to the park we noticed that we didn't know the workout. So we had to wait for everyone else to get to the park. We then as a team did 6 strides, and again we saw the U team and Susannah!!!! So the workout was a 2 mile tempo run of 2/3s of what you ran yesterday plus 1 minute. So since I didn't want to do the math I just did 21 minutes so 15 minutes for 2 miles. That felt really really really really slow. That is about how fast I usually do my runs at so it didn't feel like a tempo run. Then when we were done I had to get back up to the track so I ran back up to the track. This afternoon we did 6 miles. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/dashboard http://connect.garmin.com/activity/111371223 |

Timpanogos Invite (3 Miles) 00:19:35, Place in age division: 7 | | So today was the Timpanogos Invite. The race isn't like the other ones with a Varsity race and JV. Its freshman/Sophomore and Junior/Senior races and the top 5 from both races scores for your team. So since I was in the Junior race I raced last. So Anders and I did a slow 1.5 mile warm up around the course just looking at it. Then we jogged over to our stuff, got water and put on our spikes. The boys ran to the starting line. At the line we did 2 strides and stretched. Since there was no team next to us all of us got to be on the line. So the gun goes off and I got a fairly decent start. I was right with Dylan for the first 3/4th of a mile. Our first mile time was 5:51, thats what the guy was yelling out but my watch said 6:07. I was like wow thats insane but oh well. So from this point on I just kept pushing my way up and passing people. I tried to pass someone every 1/4th of a mile. So we got to the 2 mile mark and my time was12:47 so I was right on pace to PR. Then tragedy struck. Some kid stopped right in front of me because he got a cramp or something and I asked if he was OK but then I ran into the pole. That brought me back a little bit. When we got to about having a half mile to go I just tried to really push the pace. I would go faster then my legs would get tired because of the squishy squishy squishy grass. So I had to slow down then speed up and this was happening until I saw Bill with about a fourth of a mile to go. From that point on I just progressively kept getting faster. This course was a good course to me because I still am on Varsity and I almost PRd. I am 3 seconds off of my PR. When I was coming down the final stretch I had about 150 meters to go and I gave it all. I started to sprint my head off. Trying to catch this kid in front of me. I didn't catch him but it was close. My final time was 19:35. GREAT JOB EVERYONE!! YOU ALL DID GREAT!!. Then when I got home from the game I did a 1 mile cooldown because I ran a half mile at the game:) Overall surprisingly I liked this course even though it didn't have any hills to catch people on. I passed them on the flat. Here is My Garmin Connect: Warm Up: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/111371225 Race: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/111371230 |

In the late morning I went out 2 miles barefoot:) at a nice easy 7:30 pace. Then I came home and did my hamstring weights, squats, holding my knee up for a minute and then weighted arm swings. Then I went for a half mile cooldown at a 7:30 pace also. I'll go for another 2 miles tonight. I was definately sore from yesterday.. In the afternoon I decided to go and get the rest of my run done. So I went from my house, over one block, down one block. I stayed on that street until Monte Vista Circle. I took 1800 East up passed 1900 East until I was at one mile. Then I turned around and came back the same way. This run was a bit harder for me. My legs started out really tired, they warmed up after about a half mile, then with a half mile to go they became really heavy. It was not a nice run for me even though I went a slower pace than this morning. When I got back to my house I did my core. Then I ate a Otter Pop:) Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/111599791

| | This afternoon I went for my own run. I was trying just to stay at an 8 minute pace but coming back I kept speeding up without noticing it. This run was really hot to me. When I was outside studying it was not hot at all but when I started running I was dyeing of heat. I was going to do a lap around Clayton middle school but when I got around to the back of it the gate was locked so I couldn't go in so I went back and kept going up 1900 east. Then I turned around at two miles and came back the same way. When I got home I did my core outside then I went in and did my hamstring weights, squats, holding my knee up for a minute thingy and then weighted arm swings. | | So today since I slept over at my cousins house last night I couldn't go for a long run. I woke up early and went for a short run around tooele. It was a good run but it was hard because I have never noticed how hilly overlake, tooele is. Then we went over to the resovoir or however you spell it and I went pool running for the first time in my life. Then we went for a long walk and that was surprisingly hard:( I'll try to go for another run later tonight. When I got home from my Grandmas house and my cousins house I went for a little run. I went and did the 2 mile loop around my house because my Garmin was dead:( |

| | AM: Today for cross country practice we started at the track. We did 2 grass laps for a warm up then we did a mile of speedchanges. Then we did a speed workout. We were in groups of 4. My group was me, kevin, sam, and Nate. So the workout was 2 of us did a 400 and then the other 2 went over to the 200 mark and when the 2 doing the 400 got to like 15 meters after the 200 mark the 2 doing the 200 would chase the 2 doing the 400. So I ran the first 400 with Sam. Kevin and Nate was chasing us. My first 400 time was 72. We did 4 400s and 4 200s. My times for the 400s were 72, 75, 75, 83. My times for the 200s 32, 30, 34, 31. Then after the speed we did 2 grass loops as a cooldown. Here is my Morning Garmin Link: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/112499385 PM: Since we have a "Race" tomorrow it was supposed to be an easy workout. So the Varsity workout was instead of just running up to the this is the place, we had to do the running of the leopards 5k course backwards. By the time we got to this is the place we were at 2.7. So since we had to redo the course we just stayed on the gravel but everywhere we went the trail ended so we had to turnaround. It was a lot of worthless running. By the time we got the course sort of picked out we had to rerun the course to measure it again and make sure it was sort of the right length. I actually don't know how far we ended running the course but we did 7 miles. After running not even half of the course we just ran back to the track. Bountiful Dual Meet (3.17 Miles) 00:22:40, Place in age division: 7 | | Today was a dual meet we had at This is the Place monument against Bountiful. So when we got to the monument we did some of the course as a warm up, it was like 1.5 or so miles. But we had like 40 minutes until the boys raced. My, Gio, Voung, and Kevin were going to go all together in this race. When it got closer to race time we did another half mile warmup by jogging to the start line and doing strides. I did 4 strides before the team got to the start then Caden and I did 2 more. Then we all lined up and the gun went off. So Me, Kevin, Gio and Voung were all together for about the first mile. Then Voung and I broke away. When we finally got off of the gravel and onto the grass Caden and Sam were just behind us. Voung and I were not pushing at all today because we were just using this as a tempo run, not even as a race. So even if JV people passed us we let them because we were trying to stay consistent. But when Caden passed us Voung went with him. I stayed consistent and because of it Sam passed me. I didn't care because I am saving my legs for BYU on Saturday. After doing the 2.5 laps on the grass we went back on the gravel and to the finish line. By this time Sam, Voung and Caden were about 100 meters in front of me so I picked up the pace to try to catch them so when we finished they were about 10-15 meters ahead of me. But it was a hard course but I went slow so it was not that bad. Then when I got home I did a mile cooldown. BYU Autumn Classic Invtitational (3.1 Miles) 00:19:45, Place overall: 53, Place in age division: 8 | |
Today was the BYU Invitational over at the BYU Track. So when we got there I was wearing my snap up pants so I got to rip them off for the first time.... It was EPIC!!!!!!!!!! So then it was about 40 minutes until my race. So I go on a 1.5 mile warm up with Nelson. We just went .75 out and back the same way. Then when we got back we ran over to the stuff and got our spikes on. Then we headed over to the starting line. But then the officials were a bit behind so we were at the starting line for like 20-25 minutes. So in that time I did 6 strides and I stretched a ton with dynamic stretching. So finally they tell us to line up so Tomy, Me, and Dylan were on the front line. The gun goes off and Emily said to go out fast and that is what all three of us did. We all were in the top 20 for the first half mile. Then Dylan and I start to slow down. So we go around the track at 6:01. When we get around the track its the one mile mark. So my first mile was 6:01. My goal for the day was to break 19 minutes by the 3 mile mark So I do another lap around the grass and come onto the track, I look at the clock and it said 12:47 so I was roughly 7 seconds behind what I needed to be to break my goal, so on the hill coming off of the track I pushed it until I got to the baseball field. By the time I got there I was dead. I used the baseball as a recovery thing still passing people and working my way up the pack. So when I get out of the baseball field I start picking up the pace. When we have about a 400 meter to go I start progressively picking up the pace. When I hit the track Bill and Emily both are yelling at me to do a fast 300 but I couldn't get my legs going that fast that soon on the track so as soon as I have about 250 meters to go I really pick up the pace. When I hit the 3 mile mark I was at 19:12 exactly so I was 12 seconds behind what I wanted but I did PR today. I slowed down a little coming around the final curve because I was starting to feel sick and all I could remember was last year the last 100 meters puking everywhere. But when I had about 75 meters to go I just gave it all and kicked with everything I had left. I finished the race with a time of 19:45.8. I was exactly .8 of a second behind Voung so if I hadn't slowed down out of fear I would have beaten him:( So my finish for my race was really disappointing but the rest of the race I was happy about. I just need to really work on pushing through when I feel sick. Then after the race I got a ton of gatorade and cooled down 3 miles while Cheering for the JV Girls, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys races. 2 miles in the morning because we have a late start. Then off to study Biology. PM: Today for cross country we had our first speed, real speed workout of the season. So we started with about a mile warm up then a mile of speed changes. Then we stretched and changed our shoes. So then Bill told us our groups. My group was Voung, Kevin, Me, Abigail, and Sarah. So we were supposed to hit 3 minutes on each 800. The workout was 8 800s with a 400 in between as recovery. So we lined up, Bill broke us up, Natalie, Tomy, Dakota, Taylor, RJ, and Scott and my group was in the first group then like 30 seconds or something later is when everyone else went. So we started and our first 800 was 2:58. Then the times went 2:59, 3:00, 3:00, 2:59, 3:02, 3:01, 3:03. The last one I was absolutely dyeing. Our group pretty much stayed all together except for the last one when Voung and Kevin broke away from us and I just couldn't stay with them. The workout was not that hard but it was a real mental block for me, it was hard to think I have 7 more or 5 more or something. The physical part wasn't hard but the mental part was the killer. I'm glad I did the whole workout and not wuss out because this proves I can do 4 miles at roughly 6 minute pace so now I just need to do the 5Ks at that pace. Then for a cooldown I did 1.25 miles at the track with Andy and Caden. Then I totally forgot my locker combo and couldn't remember it for the life of me so I had to have Bill tell it to me. Then I got a delicious slurpee. Today was a good workout for me I just need to learn to push through things and stay with Voung because I know that I could have stayed with him today on that last one. Here is my blog. I was stupid and I didn't turn my garmin on for the recovery laps and on the cooldown because I accidently held down the button that turns it off instead of pressing lap. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/113959555

| | AM: Today we had a morning workout, the varsity was supposed to run down to Sugarhouse Park and do an outside lap. When I got to the park I had to wait at the light and so Abigail, Caden, Sam, Dakota, Jesse, and Annie caught up to me. So my shins were really hurting where it hurt last time on the bone right under my knee so I decided to try the lap but then I just didn't want to seriously do anything so me, Caden and Sam all did a small lap in the park then ran back up to the track. Caden and I broke away from Sam so we got back to the track before anybody else so we did a half mile at the track to finish off at 5 for this morning. Here is my Blog for this morning: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/114217653 PM: Since I was supposed to leave by 4 because I have a Spanish 3 test, AP Biology, and AP US History test tomorrow I wanted to get done early. So Dominique and I did a mile before Bill got there then we did another 400 and by this time it was like 3:15 and Bill didn't get there till 3:35. I new I had to get done so I ran up to the zoo at a fast pace then we all realized we didn't know what hill we were supposed to do at the Zoo trail. So we had to wait for Bill to drive up there, so he broke us into the groups he had us in yesterday and we did a hill just under .2 of a mile. We did that 4 times. Then we ran the 2.1 miles back to the track. Going back I knew I had to be done so the Varsity people started in front of me so I had some ground to catch up on. I caught up to Abigail and Nate, then I caught up to Voung. I knew Chris was in reach so I caught up to him and Chris stuck with me. We caught up to Taylor and Natalie was only like 10 meters ahead of him. If there would have been like another fourth of a mile Chris and I could of caught Dylan because he was like 20 meters ahead of us. We were hauling it down Sunnyside coming back. Then we ate Cake from Bill....... Then off to study for my tests!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is my Garmin Connect for going up to the Zoo: (You can see Dominique and I doing our mile on the page just look up Dominique and I mile) http://connect.garmin.com/activity/114217664 |

AM: This morning for workout we started at the track and ran up to Foothill, over to the U down to 1300 East and back up to the track. Easy workout because of the Murray race. We had to do .75 of a mile at the track to make it an even 4. Here is my morning Garmin link: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/115003093 PM: This afternoon we started with a mile warm up, a mile of speed changes then a mile cooldown. This actually was 3.1 not 3 because I was running in the outer lanes for most of it. Here is my Afternoon Garmin Link: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/115003113 I'll put my Garmin Links up later tonight. Murray Invitational (3.1 Miles) 00:20:24, Place overall: 296, Place in age division: 9 | | Today was the Murray Invitational. So when I woke up I knew I wasn't going to do my best because I woke up with MAJOR bad allergies. But I wasn't going to let that get to my head. So when we got to the race it starts poring!! for like 20 minutes, then it stops and as a team we start our warm up. All day I was planning on running the JV race so when I heard I was running the Varsity race I really tried to clear my throat and my nose from allergies. So as a warm up we run a bit of the course, I only ran 1.5 miles because I had over an hour till my race. So when it was closer to my race Caden and I do 6 strides, drills and stretched to stay warmed up while cheering for other members of our team, with the strides and everything we did about a 2 mile warm up. So we changed shoes and get to the line. No sooner does the gun go off it starts poring rain again, of course its my race. So since the ground is so slippery I sort of tripped but I caught myself and had to sprint to catch back up to Dylan and Dakota. So I eventually catch back to them but after we did our first lap and were going up the second hill that is when they started to get ahead of me. I didn't care at this point, I was just working of passing people whenever I could. So as I am passing people and we get onto the dirt I notice my shoes are filling up with mud. So our first mile was something like 6:20 or around there. Thats exactly what I wanted and I was feeling really good so I decide to pick up the pace. But when I get to the snake thingy thats a trail and is covered in mud. I ran up it hard to pass a ton of people but when I did I slipped down the hill so I had to run up it again then I slipped down it again so I had to run up it for a third TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is when Caden passed me. But when we got to the dry dirt I faced planted in that dirt also so in this race I fell 3 times this race. So when I get to the indian head I just start really to pick up the pace because in the second mile is when I really fell. So I just picked up the pace until I got to the water park, thats when I started to kick it in. Natalie yelled at my to use my arms because they are crossing so I did and I really picked up the pace from that. Then I saw the finish line and I sprinted with everything I had left because it was a lot because I just didn't go fast today. Then we stood at the finish line for like 20 minutes. Then Jesse's, Annie's and Olivia's moms brought us PIZZA!!! THANK YOU!! Then when I got home, after unthawing from freezing to death at the race I did 1.5 mile cooldown. Today I really didn't want to go for a run at all! I woke up late because I was allowed to sleep IN! So I went for my run in the afternoon. I started from my house, ran up to clayton middle school, noticed my Garmin was off:( so I had to turn it on then run the 2 miles so I really did like 2.5 but im only counting it as 2. I was pushing way hard because I wanted to be done and I had to get back so I could do my homework. I was so sore the entire run, my calf's were way tight, when I stretched it helped a ton. But it was just sort of a miserable run. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/115500792

| | Today for cross country it was a sort of easy workout. Well the workout part was easy. So we started at the track, ran down to 1300 East and took that street all the way to the avenues. We met up as a team on T street. We broke into three groups. I was in the fastest group with Bill, Tomy, Scott, RJ, Taylor, Chris, Vuong, Kevin, Natalie, Sam, Caden, Gavin, Andy, and I think thats all. Sorry if I forgot someone. So the workout was, stride up one block recover on the flat part then stride up it again. We were supposed to only go to 3 miles but we wanted to make it to 11th avenue so we went over. So Then we did the same thing coming back. I was pushing way hard on the numbers 3-8 then I slowed down on 9-11. So then jogging back I took it slow on the way back. Then when we got back to the track I did a 200 to make it an even 6.5. When I got home I did my hamstring and holding my knee up for a minute thingy weights. My legs were way sore so I stretched a bit afterwards. |

| | AM: Today in the morning we did a speed workout. We started with a mile warm up with a mile of speed changes. Then we quickly changed shoes and got to the line. The workout was 2 200s with equal recovery 400, 600, 800, 600, 400 and 2 200s all with equal recovery. This morning I just couldn't be up at the top of the pack that I know I need to be at. I was way back there but I was still pushing as hard as I could. During them though I was still passing at least one person on every time of speed and on the last 2 200s I just gave it all out. I didn't care how tired I was, I just booked it and I was up where I was supposed to be. Then after those we did a half mile cooldown to get an even 7 miles. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/116169776 PM: This afternoon it was just a recovery run. So Vuong and I take the first part slow then we accelerate every mile. So at the first mile he was way behind me so I didn't want to wait for him so I just accelerated. But when we got to Sugarhouse park I had to go to the bathroom really bad so I went in Arbys but when I got out everyone was ahead of me so I had to work to catch back up to people. When I caught back up to Annie, Jesse, and Sam I just ran the rest with them. The workout was jog to sugarhouse park, do a lap in the park then come back. When I got home I took a 15 minute ice bath. Bountiful Tri Meet (2.7 Miles) 00:19:25, Place in age division: 9 | | Today was a tri meet against Bountiful and Woods Cross. So we did the whole course as a warm up. The course was really hilly. So Bill told the top 10 Varsity runners to stay as a pack and run a 7 minute pace for them. So after the warm up we go to the line and start. So we all start out as a pack and right on pace. For the first mile all top 10 people are there. But then the top guys start picking it up so we start breaking away from eachother. I didn't care who beat me in this race because it was just a tempo race and I was on pace the whole time, thats all I cared about. So after that Jesse and I did a mile cooldown running to the bathrooms and then the whole team did another mile cooldown to do 2 miles cooldown. Here is my Warm up then the race Garmin Links: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/116169781 http://connect.garmin.com/activity/116169785 |

| | AM: So this morning was just a recovery run. I started out with Vuong with a slow first mile. Then at the mile mark we pick up the pace and catch back up to the lead pack, we stay with them until they break away from me and sam. So when Sam and I get to the drinking fountain they were just about to leave so we quickly get a drink and head out. So were about 100 meters behind them but when we get out of the U campus at the light we caught back up to them, then we stayed with them the rest of the run. We just kept picking up the pace because we felt way good.
PM: This afternoon, it was a easy workout. Jog up to Sunnyside, do a lap then meet at the tree. So we do a fartlek workout of 10 1 minute on and 1 minute off. For this workout I stayed with Dylan, Natalie, Vuong, and a few people I don't know there names. I had a pretty good workout today. |

Today was the Bob Firman Invitational in Boise, Idaho. So we got up at 2 AM and met at the East High Track at 3, and drove down to Boise at 3:15. So I was supposed to try to sleep on the bus so I got there early to make sure I got a good spot on the bus so I could lay in the isle to try to go to sleep. As soon as I got down on the isle, Vuongs water bottle explodes in the cubby above us so we had to mop everything up and then have it dry, by this time it was like 5:30 and the sun was barely starting to come up so I decided to just watch a movie. So when we got to the race, Kevin and I decided to go on a 1.5 mile shake out run, running one lap of the course and grabbing some flags while were at it. After that we decided since we had like 3 hours still till we raced, to go back and eat and cheer on all the people racing right now. So I ate a banana, an apple, flaming hot cheetos, and funyons. Not the most healthy of a diet before I race and 2 chocolate milks. So Finally it is time to start warming up so Sarah has already raced she decides to join in and do a mile with us, I took everybody on a warm up, Kevin, Me, Blake, Anders, Mac, and Nelson. So we head over to the start, do drills and a few strides. So Finally the gun goes off and were off!!! I got out fairly OK but I would have liked to start out faster because I was pushed into the pole:) But oh well it was a fun start to elbow a ton of people out of my race. So at about the half mile mark I am in my goal, my average pace was a 6 flat which is what I needed it to be and I was in the top 20. But then tragedy happens, I didn't see this dip in the ground and I totally eat DIRT!! I face planted meaning I fell hard on the dirt on my face. So I quickly get up and a few people pass me. I stay with the group I am with, I was starting to feel comfortable with the pace so I picked up the pace. Going up the hill I am feeling good and passing people going up it but then they passed me going down it. So after the mile and a half mark I am starting to feel sick. Then all the sudden I blow chunks all over this kid running next to me..... Sorry!!!! When I finally get to the 2 mile, my time was 13:36 so I knew there was no way I was going to pull off a 5 minute mile to make my goal in the state that I was in, I just needed to be done. So Kevin passes me going right on the sand the in the sand Andy passes me. So I pass Andy again going up the hill but he passes me going down it. At this point I was feeling a ton better so I picked up the pace to try to catch Kevin, I almost did, he was about 20 meters ahead of me at the finish instead of 100 where he was originally. When we make the final turn I totally sprint it in, I was not proud of my final time or place. I know I could've done better because I was slower this year than I was last year. When I got to the finish I could barely stand up though. Then I did a 3 mile cooldown while cheering for my other teammates races. I did the cooldown with Caden and Vuong. We just redid the course without the start and finish lines. Here is my Garmin Link: (This is just the Race) http://connect.garmin.com/dashboard

Since we didn't get back from Boise last night till like nearly one in the morning, I slept in. I went for an easy 3 miles in the late afternoon. I started out going down to Sugarhouse Park, going into the Highland High School track, doing a lap around the track, doing 5 laps of their stairs on the track. (I would have done more, but there was a creeper staring through the fence at me) Then I did another lap on the track and then I just ran home. | | Today for cross country, we met at the track and drove down to Cottonwood Complex. When we all got there, as a team we ran the regions course as a warm up. Then we went over and did 6 strides. Then we stretched for a little while then we did 6 Bessy's. I am not sure my times but I know I was faster than what we did over the summer because over the summer I was doing 1:53 and today Sarah was doing 1:56 and I was at least 50 meters ahead of her on all of them. On those I was really fast on the uphill, passing a lot of people but then on the downhill and the flat part I was passed by Sam and Taylor on everyone of them. Then we did a 2 mile cooldown and drove home. Here is my Garmin Link: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/117817268 |

| | AM: This morning we had a morning workout, since Bill arrived late we had to do a less warm up:) So we did a half mile warm up, then 3 laps of speed changes. So the workout was a timed mile, then 6 400s. We line up for the mile and we go. I start out really really slow and on each lap I got way faster because I am trying to run so I don't die at the end, be able to keep getting faster. So I started out with Sam. We ran our first lap in like 100 seconds..... WOW really slow!!! So then I speed up and he tries to come with me. He sticks with me for about another lap then Sam falls off. My 800 time was 3:15 which was not fast enough. So I stayed that same pace for the next lap then on the last lap I just keep getting faster. My overall time was 6:27 so that means I did do a negative split which I was proud of but I still should have started out faster to get a faster time. Then on the 400 I ran with Bill and Natalie. My times were roughly, 80, 75, 80, 79, 75,71. Then we did a half mile cooldown. Here is my Garmin Link: http://connect.garmin.com/dashboard PM: This afternoon was a recovery run so we ran down to the gully, did 2 laps then ran back. But before this we took our team pictures which went great!!! When we got back we did 2 300s then came home and stretched a ton and took an ice bath. Highland Tri Meet (3 Miles) 00:19:50, Place in age division: 9 | | Today was a tri meet at Sugarhouse Park. So as a team, we ran the first 2 miles of the race to get used to it again. The course was, the first two miles were the exact same as the state course then on the third you go straight, around the pond again, down to the drinking fountain and around that corner then finish on the soccer field. So we change shoes after cheering for the girls finishing then we head to the starting line. I got 2 really good strides in before they call us to hear what the course is. So we line up and the gun goes off. I start out pretty fast, up with Dylan but then some Highland Kid sticks his hand out or foot or something and tries to trip me or knock me out of the race. IM LIKE WHO THE F$%K DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!!! So I speed up again and catch back up to Sam and Caden passing the highland kid and so nicely elbowing him in the stomach:) So we all are running down on the flat part and I know I need to get distance on Sam, Caden and Kevin because I knew I was going to die going up the hill so I sprint down the hill but they stuck with me. Going up the hill, they didn't get too far ahead of me so I caught back up to them. Going around the pond I kicked Goose poop up on my leg..... IT WAS SOOOOO GROSS!! Thats when they got ahead of me. So going up the hill again I was trying to catch up to them but they weren't getting closer to me or farther away, we were going the same pace. I look down at my pace and it is faster than I thought it would be so I continue running the same speed but then I realize I am almost done so I start picking up the pace. Then making the final turn I catch back up to some Bountiful kid and we are like booking it!! I was in front then him, then I was, then he was and it went like this the whole sprint. It was the closest time ever!!! I still don't know who won that, they put our tags next to eachothers because the officials don't know who won it either. Then Caden and I did a mile cooldown. Bill sat us down and gave us the annual regions talk for a few minutes then as a team we went on another mile cooldown. Cedar City Invitational (3 Miles) 00:19:50, Place in age division: 10 | |
Today was the Cedar Invite. So when we got there we found out what we were racing. I found out I was running Varsity again. So we did 1.1 mile warm up while Cheering for the Varsity Girls. Then we did strides so it added up to about a mile and a half. Then we lined up and stretched. So the gun goes off and we start out fast. We make the first turn and im feeling good so I speed up and stick with Dylan for the first mile. When we hit the mile mark we were at 6:08. We took the downhill fast then on the flat Dylan started to get farther away from me. Then Caden passes me so I stick with him for a little while but he speeds up and same goes for Kevin. Pretty soon There all ahead of me by like 100 meters. I try to pick up the pace to catch them again but I couldn't. By that point I had given up mentally so I just needed to be done. When I was done I did a mile and a half cooldown of shame. Then I went to St. George with Abigail and Maggie to volunteer at the Marathon... Thank you SOOOOOOO MUCH Maggie!!!!!!!!!!
