Race: Bountiful Dual Meet (3.17 Miles) 00:22:40, Place in age division: 7
Total Distance
6.17

Today was a dual meet we had at This is the Place monument against Bountiful. So when we got to the monument we did some of the course as a warm up, it was like 1.5 or so miles. But we had like 40 minutes until the boys raced. My, Gio, Voung, and Kevin were going to go all together in this race. When it got closer to race time we did another half mile warmup by jogging to the start line and doing strides. I did 4 strides before the team got to the start then Caden and I did 2 more. Then we all lined up and the gun went off. So Me, Kevin, Gio and Voung were all together for about the first mile. Then Voung and I broke away. When we finally got off of the gravel and onto the grass Caden and Sam were just behind us. Voung and I were not pushing at all today because we were just using this as a tempo run, not even as a race. So even if JV people passed us we let them because we were trying to stay consistent. But when Caden passed us Voung went with him. I stayed consistent and because of it Sam passed me. I didn't care because I am saving my legs for BYU on Saturday. After doing the 2.5 laps on the grass we went back on the gravel and to the finish line. By this time Sam, Voung and Caden were about 100 meters in front of me so I picked up the pace to try to catch them so when we finished they were about 10-15 meters ahead of me. But it was a hard course but I went slow so it was not that bad. Then when I got home I did a mile cooldown. Here is my Garmin  Connect:
