| | Today for cross country practice we met at Sugarhouse Park. Today was my first day back for not running for exactly one week and not being at practice for almost two weeks. We did the cemetery loop. I was really pushing it though, mainly to finish because I was exhausted as soon as I got to the cemetery. My first few miles were the fastest which made me really mad because I always end fastest. But for it being my first day back it was good. Overall it was a horrible run that seemed abnormally long, but oh well. Tomorrow I am going to push myself so I get my speed back like I never took the two weeks off. BILL, I WANT YOU TO MAKE ME KEEP UP WITH YOU THE ENTIRE FARTLEK WORKOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I got home I did my core. But during the run my knees and ankles did hurt a lot and they never did warm up. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/103388336 |

| | Today for cross country practice we met at wheeler farm. We started with a two mile warm up instead of a three mile warm up. Thank goodness. Then we went and sort of did a stretching circle. I was feeling OK until this point, I was pretty much just tired. The workout was 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3 with a recovery if I remember correctly is 1,2,2,1,2,2,1,2,2 but I am not totally sure. When I was done with that I was totally wiped out, it felt like I was totally pushing way hard but then when I was finishing out the lap I noticed that I was going the same pace as I was when I was pushing it so I probably could of gone faster. Then we did an adventure run of running through the farm. When I had about a half mile to go, I stopped and ran through the sprinklers to cool off but then I got totally soaked:) When I was running I noticed that both of my knees hurt way bad, they even hurt to walk and they never warmed up. Then when I got home I did my weights and my core. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/103628468 |

| | Today for cross country practice we met at the horrible trail across the street from the zoo. It sucks because it seems uphill the entire time even though it is only like 3 miles long, or at least that is as far as I went today. Going to the turn around I was going pretty slow until Amanda passed me then I spent the rest of the time until the turn around trying to catch up to her. I never really did though. When I was going back I really tried to push the pace so going there I was doing like an 11 minute pace...... I know ridiculously slow but then when I was done my average pace was low 9 minutes which is ok because I am still really trying to get my endurance and my speed back. Then when we were done we did arm swings, step ups, wall sits, and our core. Then when I got home I had the best spaghetti ever!!!!!!!! and I finally got my junior prom pictures:) then I did the rest of my core and I did my leg weights. | | Today for cross country we met at the old K mart and drove up to Jeremy Ranch because today was the bike and run. My partner is Sarah. How the bike and run works is the two of you as a pair has one bike, then every mile you alternate biking a mile and running a mile. So when I was running a mile Sarah was biking a mile. It was a good run for me today because I really tried to push on the miles that I was running, doing sort of a speed change but when I was off I was biking instead. We did that for 10 miles but since five of them were biking it doesn't count as 10 running miles so after the workout I went to the gym since it was really really hot outside and ran three miles on the elliptical to get an even 10. Then when I came home I did my core. Here is my Garmin Connect: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/104079279 |

Today for Cross Country practice we met at Liberty Park. We started with a lap warm up then a sort of stretching circle. Mostly it was everyone was in a circle then everybody stretches at there own pace. Then we broke into the groups for firemen. My group was group 2 with a variety of people. We probably had the biggest group because I only had to sprint like 4 times at most. Then we stopped and waited for the other group to get back, then we did a 2 mile cool down to finish out the day at 5 miles. I felt like I was pushing throughout the entire workout even though today was not a hard workout at all. My average pace was sub 8 minute miles so that means my speed is coming back, just in time for school. Then when I came home I did my core and my leg weights. Since we got done so early, I got to watch the entire episode of Dinosaur Train!!!!!!!!!!! After Dinosaur Train I took a 15 minute ice bath for tomorrows race. Charitable Trust 5K (Minuteman) (3.14 Miles) 00:22:06, Place overall: 61, Place in age division: 14 | |
Today was the Charitable Trust 5K also known as the Minuteman 5K. I started out feeling sick to my stomach but when I got warming up it started to go away. I warmed up with Kevin, Dylan, and Vuong. Then we went to the bathroom, met up with the rest of the team and did drills and strides. The strides I was pushing them because when we went to the bathroom I totally lost my warm up. So we went to the starting line and the CANNON went off!!! It was a freaking Cannon and not a gun. But anywase I started out fast because I wanted to see how fast I could push my first mile, I was right with Kevin and Vuong. For our first mile was 6:23 which is good but it was a bit down hill, the second mile was a bit off because my Garmin said 2 miles about 20 meters before the 2 mile sign but my watch said 13:15 or something and they yelled it as 13:30. Up till this point I was with Kevin and Vuong. At about the mile mark Abigail caught up to me and stuck with me until she, Kevin and Vuong broke away from my on the uphills and I just couldn't keep up with them. At this point my goal was just to finish doing a sub 7 minute mile. That last hill at the very end was a bit longer than a half mile because the race was 3.14 (pi) haha instead of 3.1 so we did a bit more up hill. When I got to the up hill I really sprinted it all out because Kylie was coming up on me and I didn't want her to pass me. Then me, Bill, Kevin, Vuong, Kylie, and her dad all did a mile and a half cooldown and went and ate our breakfast:) Then when I got home I did my core.... No leg weights today Here is my Garmin Connect: Warm Up http://connect.garmin.com/dashboard Race http://connect.garmin.com/activity/104963121 cooldown http://connect.garmin.com/activity/104963134
