| | PM1- 10 minute warm up with the boys with a tight calf. I was wondering why my calf was so tight, I've had so much time off from running and it didn't hurt yesterday. Then I came up with a theory....maybe all these nike pegs I have been buying are the problem? 1.32 miles
PM2- Switched into some differen't non Nikes and had some relief in my calf. Ran the track with Dave and later Coach W. 4.33 miles

| | Still having calf problems? Terrible feeling because I had high hopes for this weekend and Lake to Lake. It's my favorite race and I may not be able to do it this weekend, epecially as a 2 person team. 3.52 miles

Lake to Lake Relay (50.2 Miles) 06:09:18, Place overall: 6, Place in age division: 2 | | I could not pass up on my favorite race! I told Ross that my calf was not going to be able to run 25+ miles. So we threw together the best 5 person team that we could. Marieta was recruited to run 1 leg, George was called upon to show some grit. Then Skyler came through as our MVP recruit (someone who has actually been running and in good shape). The team was assembled and I think we all overperformed. I was able to muster out 2 legs without my calf exploding. I was able to find the pace correct for each mile. Had I ran faster at any given moment I think my calf would've ruined me.
Of course after the race I had to follow the Lake to Lake tradition and jump into the Lake. I did it once and I was totally fine, other than the water being super cold. Then George wanted to join in too. I did a second jump to make George happy. I even suggested we high five in the air. I jumped off my injured leg and felt a tear in my calf. I got too cocky after surviving my runs and now I am paying the price like a moron!
Leg 3: Ran smooth and conversative, focusing on running a decent time for the team wihout injuring things further.
4.25 miles 31:02/7:19 mi
Leg 7: I actually felt worse on this leg but knew it was my last leg for the day so I played a little more risky. It will be nice to run again without feeling like I am being held back.

| | AM- Just weights this morning. I had to drive away right when the kids were about to start to run so I didn't get tempted into running. My calf feels a little raw so I figure I'd listen to my body and gear up for an afternoon run.
PM- 10ish with girls then laps with Holt. Calf feeling more sore, I’ll chill through the weekend and not run that much. 2.51 miles
