I could not pass up on my favorite race! I told Ross that my calf was not going to be able to run 25+ miles. So we threw together the best 5 person team that we could. Marieta was recruited to run 1 leg, George was called upon to show some grit. Then Skyler came through as our MVP recruit (someone who has actually been running and in good shape). The team was assembled and I think we all overperformed. I was able to muster out 2 legs without my calf exploding. I was able to find the pace correct for each mile. Had I ran faster at any given moment I think my calf would've ruined me.
Of course after the race I had to follow the Lake to Lake tradition and jump into the Lake. I did it once and I was totally fine, other than the water being super cold. Then George wanted to join in too. I did a second jump to make George happy. I even suggested we high five in the air. I jumped off my injured leg and felt a tear in my calf. I got too cocky after surviving my runs and now I am paying the price like a moron!
Leg 3: Ran smooth and conversative, focusing on running a decent time for the team wihout injuring things further.

Leg 7: I actually felt worse on this leg but knew it was my last leg for the day so I played a little more risky. It will be nice to run again without feeling like I am being held back.
