| | Drove up the course with Reese, Cody, and Metler. They were going for “19” and I was going for “17”. As soon as they dropped me off I knew I was facing closer to 18 miles. My body held up for about 17 then really slowed up going into the last mile. Just kind of coasted the whole time. 18 miles, 7:16 mi pace

| | AM- Headed out on the only non private road I could find. Found a cow elk and her calf. Then I found a rocky/slippery trail. Decided to take it as far as I could. Ended up at the peak of the mountain pass. Ran the 5+ miles on the paved canyon road to East Canyon. 15.09 miles
PM- Picked up where I left the main road this morning. Not too eventful, just enjoying the views. 5.42 miles

| | Crew of Derek H, Reese, and Metler this morning. I really had to go the bathroom as I dropped down to Veyo. My Veyo climb was a pathetic 8:48 mile. Probably from all the uphill I ran this week. Felt much better after a quick stop at the Red Mountain Trailhead. Ross found me shortly after my pit stop anf I left him to start some tempo. Did about 6 miles of tempo then a little break climbing Winchester. I really wanted to hammer down the last 3-4 miles but my calf struggled on the last couple of downhills. So I stopped to stretch then coasted in. It was a good week with some tough runs. 20.50 miles, 7:13 mi pace

| | AM- Took 3-4 miles for my calf to loosen up. Started out with some of the newer boys then worked my way up to new groups. Girls caught me when I was being a baby in the sandy uphill. Ran with Breck for a minute. Then with the upper minute girls. Then after the water spot, ran with Trev, Liam, Kyle or Carter, Ian, and Jake. Added some minutes after getting back to the school. 8.93 miles
PM- 6 mile loop with Metler. Derek H ran the 5 miler so we started together and met up in the middle at St. James Park. Definitely felt the heat but had a good attitude about it. 6.01 miles, 7:21 mile pace

PM- Durag crew with Cody, Derek H, and Metler. I left M at the 3 mile bathroom stop and tried to see if I could hold him off. The heat got to me and slowed me down towards the last couple of miles. 6 miles, 7:25 mile pace

PM- Did a little destination run. Tried to muster some speed but the heat shut that down. Went into survival mode after 5. No run with Metler because of night basketball with my brothers. 6.52 miles

| | Crew of Noe, Reese, Clinton, Cody, Derek, and Metler. Nice catching up with Noe. Never got things going. It was a hard week. I think my brain melted back on like Tuesday. I had good miles and a ton of mediocre ones. Glad I didn’t give up. I was petty enough to stop my watch at mile 20 so my 21st mile split didn’t completely tank my average. Shout out to Fabulous Freddy’s for letting me refill my water bottle, it might have saved my life. 21.22 miles, 7:39 mile pace

Party of 6
Best run of the season so far! Crew of Little Orphan Laney, B Dawg, Em, El, Finch, YaYa and Mama W. Sariah was there too until she hit her minutes to flip. Kate found us on the bike and was a great support. The girls stayed together and conquered the hills. Super proud of the kids that I get to run with! On to the next one!
Camp was great! XC FOREVER!

Started at DV down into SC. I wanted to simulate more downhill in preparation for BC. Had some stomach issues early on. Solid through 13. G Monkey (no, not that G Monkey) found me with 3 to go. Race: The Williams sisters (no, not those Williams sisters) passed me and I started to slow. I should have gone with them. I mistakenly planned to pick it up in the 2nd mile. I wish I would’ve raced a little more scrappy. Overall I felt tired and flat. The kids looked good though, and that’s more important. 1.95 miles, Time: 12:12
