woke up at 4:20, went to the gym for a 20 min elliptical hell wake up!

10 miles with Rachelle, Sue and Merri. Great run. Great girls! Really picked up my pace the last 3 miles.

St. Geezy is coming up. Oh so excited to kick some butt!

Weights. 36 min elliptical. 7 miles running on the trail. Nothing to exciting. Oh, except  when I was running along and some yorkie was yapping at me so bad. It was 6:35 in the morning, so I yelled SHUT UP. ha! I Had two different spiders drop on me as I ran under trees, I seriously had a conniption fit.

I scared the hell-o out of some lady as I turned a blind corner and she was on the other side sitting & stretching. Listen Lady, you act like I planned that out. Not my problem if you're jumpy. I am wearing headphones anyhow, I can't hear anyone. To funny.

So, I feel like I am riding the fitness roller coaster. I gain fitness up to last years par, then I loose it. I think it's just because I am running inconsistent. Anyhow, ran this race today. Was 50 sec slower than last year. I blame it partially on the crappy eating for the last 5 days. I swear I gained 6 lbs since Thursday. Sugar isn't my friend when I'm trying to run quick. So I must get my diet back in control. Also no soda. Even if it is diet soda, I think it wreaks havoc on the system.

This course is flat with some slight incline, I think it makes for the perfect race. I think more runners could gauge how they are really doing by running this 10k or the 5k because of the flat courses.

JulieC was there bandit and she ran well. Got to hang with RAD, Sue, Merri, Rachelle and MelanieB a bit after. Oh and Jen Hughes won the 10k. (she won hobble creek)  she ran a 37 min something. That chic is on a roll this year. I think she's gonna pull off a near win at SGM. Dead serious. To bad she's not on the blog.

3rd overall female, 3rd of 30-34 yr olds,  Jen Hughes & MelanieB are in my age div.  1st, 2nd 3rd :) hehe

Ran 7 more after wards on the River trail.

first 10 with Merri, it flew by. We kept a great pace. The 2nd half I ran alone with music. And it flew by as well. You all should run with me, I have the funniest things happen to me all the time. This morning, I was at mile 20, and I turned a blind corner near my neighborhood and a high school kid on a bike and I ran smack dab into each other. What was funny was the martial arts maneuver I performed. He was on a bike so I ended up quick thinking and straddling his front tire.  I didn't want the front of my legs annihilated by his front tire. Yeah, I straddled his front tire. LOL!

Weights, Elliptical for 45 min, 8.6 outside running Merri's 5 mile square route, and some River trail. I'm surprised I had anything in my legs after yesterday. But I did :)

I always do a cool down walk after runs. I just never write about it.

9 miles this morning. First 7 alone, and I ran up the center street hill, it's about .90 long, and I did it as a veyo simulation. I need to find a steeper hill though. I've heard Harry's hill in Salem is the hill to run for that.

Then I saw Merri on my way back to the house. I told her I'd meet her back at the SF half marathon with cytomax and my camera. I was originally going to pace her the last half, but my cute husband went rock climbing around 8, and I needed to be home with the kiddos :(.

Went back and met Merri. Shot pictures. Saw RAD, McKenzie and a bunch of others. They took off, and so did I.

Ran 2 more miles 6:20 pace for each.  60 mile+ week done! I'll try to do the same this coming week and a 5k next Saturday. Allie will be on my mind next Saturday. Go Allie go!

Weight lifting. Then 10 tm miles next to Sue and Merri. First 3 were average paced. Then sprint intervals for 4 miles. Then 3 miles at a 6:50 pace. Fun times.

Elliptical for 25 minutes.

Elliptical for 27 minutes. Then went and met Merri for an 8 mile run. It was nice to be done earlier and shower and lay down for a 20 min snooze before I'm up and at it again. Things feel crazy these days. I am totally driving my kids around every day and it's a little stressful. Ugh.

17 mile morning. 10 w/ Merri and Sue. Love running with those girls.

Then 7 more alone. Another interesting run. I thought Sue said a spider was above me at a stop, and I had itchies for awhile after that. Then a truck tried to run me down on 100 south. That was weird.

The last 7 miles I ran alone I just wanted to go home and lay down and go back to sleep. I was going to do 18 but 17 was enough for me today.

Kira gave me a ride to the gym at 5. I needed to lift today. So I lifted weights for 30 minutes. Then elliptical for 52 minutes with Kira and Sue and another friend. Then I did 3 miles of sprint on off's (hiit training woohoo!). Then I ran home which is only 2.5 miles from our gym, plus I added some extensions. 4 more miles in 29 minutes flat. fast!I just feel things clicking for me lately. Speed and endurance is upping each week for me. I am so glad.

I'm running a 5k on Saturday. Still the sub 20 goal. I think this time is the lucky straw!

I finally ran a sub 20 5k this morning! I love the run13 organization and their ability to truly make a race fun. This was so fun and it was for a good cause. The money raised goes to the racing cane foundation. Shoes for the the children in the Dominican Republic. There were 2 guys there from the Dominican representing the country. There was also a 10k and a childrens 1 mile.

I felt great during the race and somehow I just knew that I would hit the sub 20. Here's the catch, every run13 race I have run has ALWAYS been a distance overage. The Provo city marathon 5k was .25 over back in May. Ugh! This race was no exception. So I actually clocked at 20:28. I talked to the directors after wards and they said they always mark there distances about .10 over. So when I got home, my husband and I went into the Garmin program to see where I hit 3.1.... 19:45! Right on the money! And speaking of Money, I won!  I never care about winning, but I do always have a goal time with each race I run.

So here's to SGM, and maybe another 5k before Oct. 1st. You can't beat the fitness you get from a fast 5k. Happy Saturday and I can't wait to hear how Allie did. She was on my mind all morning!

1.5 mile cool down. 5.3 miles out on the river trail this afternoon.

30 min elliptical. 8 miles running with Sue and Merri. Good run. However, I am starting to feel the effects of marathon training. My body is telling me it's time to tone it down. I feel like I am peaked for sure. I wish it was Saturday. My si joint is acting up, my rear hurts. My feet hurt. My knees are pissed off at me. I am ready to back off on the running. After this marathon, you better believe I'll be the fast running blogger turned cross training foo. Kind of like Burt.

Yesterday morning during my run with Sue and Merri-weather, my body was on fire all over telling me to tone it down. I hate toning it down, but I obey the commands of my body these days. So today was....1 hr 31 min elliptical and major weights. I weight trained hardcore on my hips. They needed more side to side strengthening I think.

It's my booty I can cry if I want to, cry if I want to, cry if I want to!

My arse hurts. Just like this last spring. I need this marathon to be over with, and I need the weather to cooperate that day and not rain. Come on!

I didn't run today. I am trying the every other day program so I don't end up injured during this last week, because like I said, my buttocks hurts.

1. hr and some change on the elliptical hell. But not before a load of weights. I'm ripped right now :) 8-10 miles tomorra mornin'.

That is all... carry on my peeps.

25 min elliptical, 4 miles running speed intervals. I felt faster and more powerful than the full speed on the dreadmill.

Then I came home and ran up the center street hill, and turned around and ran back down fast. 4 miles outside all together.

8 miles total. I feel peaked and ready for the marathon. 7 days can't come quick enough.

I hate the taper. I feel like crap. I hurt. I know a lot of it is in my head. But it still bugs... and then I start feeling like: why am I running a marathon again?  haha

57 min elliptical. I came out to my car to put my garmin on. I was just going to run 5 miles around Spanish fork and end back up at the gym parking lot to drive home. I locked my keys in my car duuuurr. So I ran 2.5 home, and then 2.5 more around my hood. Now I'm off with my husband to unlock my car and get back home.

1 hr 17 min elliptical. I didn't mean to stay on quite that long. I was busy talking-

I feel unprepared for St. George. I don't know if my mind is messing with me or what. I also feel bloated and fatty patty.

My only goal is to try and beat my last marathon time. I want to have fun as well. I am scared though.

I slept in today and didn't do a thing. I have rolled the heck out of my butt and back and they feel good. I stretched as well with the help of my husband Shawn. I just wanted to write about how good my legs and butt feel today. I feel great! I can tell there is bounce back in my legs that was lacking for a couple weeks.

I feel ready today. I can't wait until Saturday. The only thing weighing on my mind is the first half of the marathon. How to go about it exactly. And by that, I mean how do I slow myself down the fist half?  I am the type of runner that uses the method: take off from the start and hangs on until the end. How will I do this? I am scared of the hills as well. Also, I am worried about the heat. Ack!
