Kira gave me a ride to the gym at 5. I needed to lift today. So I lifted weights for 30 minutes. Then elliptical for 52 minutes with Kira and Sue and another friend. Then I did 3 miles of sprint on off's (hiit training woohoo!). Then I ran home which is only 2.5 miles from our gym, plus I added some extensions. 4 more miles in 29 minutes flat. fast!I just feel things clicking for me lately. Speed and endurance is upping each week for me. I am so glad.

I'm running a 5k on Saturday. Still the sub 20 goal. I think this time is the lucky straw!

Just wondering, but are you able to lift as heavy of weights early in the morning as the afternoon?

From Lily on Thu, Sep 15, 2011 at 12:34:40 from 67.199.178.210

I seem to lift heavier in the mornings. Afternoons, I feel sluggish and more tired. Same goes for running for me. I run quicker and lighter feeling in the morning as opposed to the afternoon.

I like weight training in addition to my running because it builds a strong body. I believe if someone is going to run a marathon, you need a strong frame that can carry you through the distance. I firmly believe it. :)

I'm the same way on the AM v PM thing. Too much 'baggage' has seeped in by the afternoon.

Nice job on the miles! stronger and faster - I love it!!

Nice run, especially after your long run yesterday! You're so going under 20 on Saturday, I can feel it :)

Lately I feel like an alien is occupying my body for the first couple of hours after I wake up.
