I slept in today and didn't do a thing. I have rolled the heck out of my butt and back and they feel good. I stretched as well with the help of my husband Shawn. I just wanted to write about how good my legs and butt feel today. I feel great! I can tell there is bounce back in my legs that was lacking for a couple weeks.

I feel ready today. I can't wait until Saturday. The only thing weighing on my mind is the first half of the marathon. How to go about it exactly. And by that, I mean how do I slow myself down the fist half?  I am the type of runner that uses the method: take off from the start and hangs on until the end. How will I do this? I am scared of the hills as well. Also, I am worried about the heat. Ack!

Glad to hear you are feeling ready and are excited to go!

I've obviously never run StG but it seems like its setup perfectly for a major negative split. Of course the heat is going to be an issue if the weather forecast holds.

I guess I would advise you not to try and "bank" any time in the first half... that way you can crush it and feel good over the last 10K. No wall!! Run confident!!!

Yes Jake, the heat. I bought some s-caps and plan on using a couple of those for water loss. I really like what you said about not banking any time in the first half. And run confident. That sort of just lit a fire for me! :) so thank you!

Thanks Kira!

Good to hear those taper pains are gone. You'll do great on Saturday. Good luck with the heat.

Lily, I have a pretty good pace chart on excel that I inherited :) if you'd like a copy PM me so that I have your email and I can attach things.

You're looking good! And yes, plan on a neg split.
