Did the 6 miler loop again. I ran with Steve O the whole way. I wasn't feeling too good so I just took it pretty easy

| | XC training today-
I was feeling horrbile but I was glad for xc conditioning to start. Ran with Willy most of the way but fell behind. I almost got hit by this car and CURLY did. First day of XC workouts and somebody has already been hit, should be a good year!

5 mile repeats:
1. 6:00 (EASY first mile)
2. 6:01 (Ran by myself most of the time)
3. 5:55 (This might have been a little short but it had a hill)
4. 6:01 (This one was longer than a mile, had some down hill)
5. 5:48 (I really pushed on this one, we finished short of a mile. I had a time of 5:28
but my dad told me to add 20 seconds to it to equal a mile)
I'm going on a pioneer trek tomorrow. Hopefully I die, like some of the real pioneers.

| | I couldn't run the last 3 days because of the trek. The trek was a decent wokout though. Curly and me always ran with hand cart, so we got some running in.
Me, Austin, Fre, and Willy had a couple of PO's, but Willy always won.

All I have to say is that I love Monty. He came for the first time today. We ran the same 6 miler loop, except this time it was shorter with the new trail we took. I was just going to go the same pace as Monty (I was hoping slow). He was hauling through the whole thing so I did too. Austin, Trevor, and Kimz stopped at the Dixie Center and Monty, my bro, and I kept going. So we were in the lead for a while. Eventually those 3 Goolds caught us and things got competitive. I just went with Monty, I didn't care about the others. We came in behind Trev, Aust, and Kimz.
6 miler: 40:00/ 6.40 mile pace

| | XC practice-
This is my last year so I don't dread every practice, I love them. I am really excited for the upcoming season. Monty has rekindled my competitive spirit! Today we ran 5 Washington Parkway loop. Trev, Aust, and Kimz started out really fast. Monty and I were right behind. We all eventually settled in and ran strong, and Holt joined us.
5 miler: 34:02
Holt wants us (XC boys) to figure out what our team goal should be, so he can arrange for us to meet it. I will talk to the team and find out. Personally I think our goal should be a State Championship! Theres no point in settling for silver.

| | Wasatch Practice-
We ran in Oak Grove tonight. We did a 40 minute run uphill and then turned around and ran it back. My left calf was tightning for like the first 25 minutes. I stretched it twice, did nothing. I was far behind my Dad, Trev, Aust, and Kimz the whole way. The last 15 minutes of the uphill I pushed real hard. I got about 4.4 miles for the 40 minutes. I was hauling on the way back, then I caught up to Fre and ran with him. We finished the way back in 31.43. It was a great workout.
8.8(mostly uphill): 1:11.59
I talked to all the boys who came to this practice and we are all on the same page for our Cross Country goals.

USG 10K (6.2 Miles) 00:35:53, Place overall: 15, Place in age division: 5 | | O man! I felt horrible through the whole race! I can honestly say this is the worst I have felt throughout the course of a full race. I felt like I was going to throw up the whole way! I stayed mentally strong though. I wonder what my time would have been if I wasn't feeling sick the whole way. I think I might have broken 35. O well I PR'd for this course. Congrats to all my teammates and friends.

Leg 1:Â I was all excited to start this whole Wasatch Experience. Then I realized I was starting with all the fast people and got nervous. I started out too fast and got really dehydrated. I really hated this run but I just hurried and got it done. I was only 2 seconds over my predicted time so that was good.

WBR 2008 (181 Miles) 21:30:09, Place overall: 9, Place in age division: 2 | | Leg 13: I got the baton from Cowboy right before midnight and was ready for some sweet downhill. This leg started out with some real tough uphill, I was not expecting this. Then I got some of the downhill I wanted. I really loved this run but my stomach was hurting pretty bad. I was running in the dark and couldn't really see anything. The oncoming cars with their brights on blinded me. I wanted to flip them off. I ran this one real well and was under my predicted time by 10 minutes.
mile splits:
1. 8.06(sucky uphill)
2. 5.54 2 mile split: 14:01
3. 5.56 3 mile split: 19:57
4. 6.16 4 mile split: 26:13
5. 6.25 5 mile split: 32:39
6. 6.04 6 mile split: 38:44
7. 5.43 7 mile split: 44:28
8. 5.58 8 mile split: 50:26
.5. 2.40 total time: 53:07/6.18mile
Leg 25: I HATED THIS RUN SO MUCH! I was tired, felt sick and my legs were hammered from my downhill run. I stopped or walked to stretch my calves a couple of times. I was 2 minutes over my predicted time. I threw after and wanted to die.
5.6 miles total time: 43:29
Total Time: 21:30:09.08 /7:07 mile pace
This year was way fun! I loved our team and we are going to dominate in XC because of this.Congratulations to Holts team, and our Co-ed team. I love wasatch and hope the PV team will want me next year.

| | I wanted to take it easy today. I lifted some weights. I ran a mile on the treadmill and a mile in the heat of the day. I need to get use to the heat for XC. Now that Wasatch is over I only have one running focus: Run my best cross country season ever and help my team do the same.

| | I set my alarm clock but it never went off for cross country practice at 7. So hopefully I can get a run in later.
I was feeling really tired and hammered all day. I stretched it out and felt better.I ran at 4 pm today, probably the hottest part of the day. I was burning up so about 2 1/2 miles in I stopped at the Virgin and swam. I was getting attacked by thousands of bugs it seemed like. So I got out and ran home at a really decent pace.

| | I ran from my house to Washington Elementary, it was about 3 miles. Then for our workout we ran the Washington Parkway. I caught up with Austin and Willy about 2 miles in and ran at a good pace all the back to the school.
