| | AM- Ran with the younger crew and got strides rolling. I didn’t last too long doing barefoot running. Felt much better after putting shoes on. 4.01 miles
PM- Fueled by movie theater popcorn and zeppes I embarked on a gut wrenching run in Bloomington. Came around a random corner and had a Pit Bull sprinting at me. I yelled and braced myself to throw hands only to have some lady yelling from a RV. Luckily cooler heads prevailed and I didn’t have to murder that dog. Ran into the desert and navigated my way home with a tummy ache. 5.5 miles

| | One of those mornings where I found every reason to stop. Adjusted my shoes, took off calf sleeves, looked at a snake, etc. Decided to hit some desert since I was running slow. My last couple of miles is where I felt the best. I’ll bounce back and I’m super excited for next weekend! 8.53 miles

Top of Zion (1.6 Miles) 28:45:30, Place overall: 4, Place in age division: 1 | | Top of Zion: Leg 1. Got the party started by myself (we were the only team that started at 7. I ran pretty well. Really took advantage of downhills and flats. Back was hurting on the roughest uphills. I wrote my 2015 splits down on my hand so I knew when the fast and slow miles were. It really helped me be successful. 9.4 miles / 1:15:03 / 8:00 minute pace
Leg 13. Hot and nauseous. My easiest leg and I blew it. Had no energy even though I had like a 10 hour recovery from leg 1. I really liked this leg but it was a struggle. I’ll blame the heat and the fact that I needed to take a spooky dooky 👻. 7.13 miles / 58:35 / 8:13 minute pace

Top of Zion (6.95 Miles) 28:45:30, Place overall: 4, Place in age division: 1 | | Leg 21. Reverse Bryce. Ran the most fun stretch of Bryce Canyon Half backwards so it was the opposite of fun. I was surprised how many cars came cruising by me at 1 in the morning. Proud of my efforts and that I didn’t walk. Felt so much better than my 2nd leg. 6.95 miles / 1:03:31 / 9:08 minute pace

| | 5 Hills. Missed practice because Isla and Trey conspired together to make sure Marieta and I got no sleep. Tried to simulate some hill work in Bloomington. Ran 2 hills off the B Loop. Then I found a shorter hill that I ran 3 times over. Ran a 55, 51, and a 46. Pretty proud of my hill efforts, even if it was no Washington Steps. 6.21 miles

AM2- Warm up with girls. Then I tried to find my crew for progression. I was being such a baby in the grass so I ran on the track when I could. Had a stint with Sea-Bass and the boys, with Samantha, and then I found Rylee and Laura. Stuck with them for at least 3x5 minutes. Good time. Cooled. Then added after some more after that even though I didn’t want it. 6.60 miles

Beaver Canyon Half Marathon (Simulation) in (13.11 Miles) 01:26:22, Place overall: 5, Place in age division: 5 | | AM- Little back and forth testing the shoes .47
Rolled up with Royce, Kaelynn, Trevor, Jason, Janz, and Mia. Rush met us up at the top. Decided on the route 13.1 up from the turn to Diagonal.
Started out ahead of the speedy crew and was immediately struggling, a head wind didn’t help anything. I only did well on the favorable down hill miles. My hat got blown off about half way through, luckily Kaelynn grabbed it for me but that cost me some time to go back and grab it from her and get the legs rolling again. I felt sick on the Winchester climb and just struggled my way to finish. Overall it was a good experience. 13.11 miles 1:26:22 / 6:35 mile pace
Little cool with Jason. 1.19 miles
