STG MARATHON (26.24 Miles) 03:09:37, Place overall: 294, Place in age division: 24 | | Made a bold decision to switch from new alphaflys back to my comfort in the endorphin pros about 10 minutes before the race. I’ll test the alphaflys more on a different day. Started about 2 minutes behind the gun. Some awesome early minutes with Reese Jones as he helped me smile and stay positive. Ran into Bailey Barker and Zach Holt as we hauled down to Veyo. They left me on the hill:( I lost a ton of momentum on Veyo and for a while after. Regained some confidence at Red Mtn trail head. Had a miscommunication on hydration at the half marathon (I was banking on some things there that I didn’t get). Hit my goal at the half way point about 1:30 even. Then I tried to be conservative on the awesome miles in the second half. At some point I started to slow down and didn’t even realize. Miles Boyer and Dave Holt ran with me as I approached the PV aid station and they just kept going with me. It was amazing. Even as I started to cramp and fall apart I had them for incredible support. Miles dipped at some point but Holt was my guide all the way to the last turn. Without them I probably would’ve run like a 3:15-3:20 range.
Proud of the race today. I was 15 pounds heavier than last year and only slowed down by like 45 seconds. Shout out to everyone who raced today! Jake Saari Sethro Wright Jake Wright Marie Wright Loren Wright Liz Archibald SGSilverbacks

| | Dead Fat Mapache. Marieta tagged me in after her run down Snow Canyon. Ran a random route to get home. Was expecting a pick up at about 9 miles that never came. Luckily, I’m a mileage whore so I was ok with 2 more miles. My Achilles was bugging for the last couple. Fun little route from Vista to Bloomington. 11.16 miles
