I haven't run in over a month, I have been taking time off. I decided that I wouldn't run until I really started missing it, and today was that day so I ran out towards mini Gu corner but stopped a little short. I need to ease back into the swing of it and not go to far to fast. I felt pretty good, nothing spectacular but I felt like I was having fun. My average pace was really steady at 9:00 and my total time was 36 :57, so a good start to it all.

I ran out towards Payson this morning, just 4 miles but its a start point so I'm pretty proud of myself for the effort, beautiful morning to. My average pace was 8:59 with a total time of 36:26, I have a migrain today so it wasn't a real fun run but atleast I was able to get her done.

I was finally able to get in another run this week, between work and family activities in the evening there has not been a whole lot of time. I ran out past the stake center via canal road and then back to the house, I felt okay until the last mile and then I just felt awful. My average pace was slow this morning at 9:13 with a total time of 37:38, it was a little brisk this morning.

I ran out towards Payson after work, I felt pretty darn good for a change so that was pretty cool, I just tried to keep it steady and enjoy the beautiful day. I got back to the house and was feeling good so I ran out to the stake center to add on another mile, I was able to run in shorts too. My average pace 8:54, forgot to turn off my watch one time when I stopped, with a total time of 46:37, good run even though the pace didn't show it.

Two days in a row! Good for me! I ran out to mini Gu corner via canal road and then back to the house, I felt pretty good for the most part. My average pace was a lot better today at 8:35 with a total time of 52:05, its hard to get motivated but I'm really trying.

I finally was able to get in some kind of workout for the week. I have been lacking in motivation and that is the only reason I haven't been doing anything... I'm not sure why I am having the issues but I just am not in the mood to run at all. I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and then 20 minutes on the treadmill, I'm going to try and get out tomorrow morning but no promises.

I ran out to Mini Gu Corner and then back to the house via canal road, pace was very slow but I was real proud of myself for getting out and getting her done. My average pace was at 9:24 with a total time of 56:57. I know it was way slow but still I was able to overcome the bad motivation issues and get it done.

I did some hill work today. I ran up past Mt Loafer school up Loafer canyon road and then towards the mailboxes, there is 200 meter hill that I did some hill repeats on and then I ran back down the same way. On the way down I had a 7:47 mile, my legs felt pretty good on the uphill and the downhill but my lungs did not, they have some catching up to do. My average pace was 8:54 with a total time of 46:05, it was a good start to the week.

I think I ran a little to far today for my fitness level, especially after the hill work yesterday, I think I would have been better served to run 3 miles or so... I felt okay through about 4 miles but then the wheels really came off and it was a serious death march, my average pace was really slow at 9:21 with a total time of 56:53. Im pretty proud of myself though, I have ran 4 out of the last 5 days so thats a pretty good stretch for me as of late.

I'm still having a hard time getting out the door. I just don't have the desire right now, and I'm not sure how to get it back... My goal is to get out tomorrow. I hope I can do it. I'm not sure why I am having this problem, it's really never been an issue for me in the past but I just can't get motivated.  Even signing up for a race doesn't get me going, it feels more like work and not fun like it use to be.  I'm not sure what I am going to do.

Well I was able to over come the lazy demon and get my butt out the door this morning, and what a beautiful morning it was. I ran out past the Stake Center and towards Mini Gu and then back to the house, the plan was to just go 3 to 4 miles and not worry about pace and just get the legs moving. I felt better after a few miles and just kinda enjoyed the beautiful air, my average pace was 9:17 with a total time of 38.00. Not real fast but thats okay, my pace quickened the farther I was able to run so that was a pleasent surprise. This was a good start to making a come back, now I have to just keep at it.

Finally I was able to get a run in and I didn't let the lazy demons talk me out of it, I felt pretty decent and I had really good flow in my legs through out the run. I ran out to Mini GU Corner via canal road, my average pace was 9:05 with a total time of 55:15. I had a way faster inward half of the run and my last mile was in the 8:30 range which is where I want my training runs to be as far as average pace is concerned. So all in all a pretty productive run and I was glad that I got out.

This morning was a real eye opener to how far I have really fallen... Pace was so slow that I felt like I was walking. But, I have only myself to blame and this is a true wake up call to start to get back at it. We are going to Hawaii on June 19th with the kids and that is my goal date to be back to where I was pre St. George marathon, I will post everyday, every painful step and every stiff muscle along the way.  I hope I can do it and get it back, my average pace was 10:03 with a total time of 43:04.

I ran out to mini GU Corner via canal road this morning, I didn't feel really great but better than on Tuesday. My average pace was still real slow at 9:21 with a total time of 56:47, oh what I would give to be able to run  a training run in the 8:30 range again... Even though I wasn't able to run on Thursday I still feel like this is a better week for me, at least its a start.

It was another lazy week. I just couldn't get myself out there... But, I was able to get out the door this morning and so that is a positive, I felt a little better today, still not real fast but better. I ran out to Mini GU corner via canal road and then back to the house, I felt okay but on the last mile I started to have some stomach issues and barely made it home. My average pace was 8:53 with a total time of 53:21, I can live with that right now because its a long way to get back to where I was before, so I'll consider this a win!

Payson park loop this morning but I cut out the rollers, I haven't ran this route in a while. I felt okay but not great, I had an 8:30 mile on mile number 4 so that was a pleasent surprise, my average pace was 8:57 with a total time of 55:51... Thats a better time as of late but I'm still feeling run down and no energy, I am going to stay consistant all week and see how it goes. Finsihed up with some push-ups, 3 sets.

I ran the Mini Gu Corner route this morning, I probably went a little to far, I should have just went 3 or 4 miles as opposed to the 6 miles that I went. I ran some hills this morning, I ran up to the mailboxes via mount Loafer school and then down Woodland Hills drive to Canal road and then back to the house. I ran out to mini Gu again this morning, my stride finally lengthened and I felt half way decent. On the way in I Ran the last quarter of each mile as fast as I could and they were in the sub 7:25 range, not my best but a lot better than I have been...  My average pace was 8:41 with a total time of 53:18 , lots of positives on todays run.

I ran out past Mini Gu and then half way up to Gu Corner and then back to the house via canal road. I felt pretty good again today and pace was quicker like it was on Thursday so that was a nice surprise. The plan is to add a mile each week to my Saturday long run until I get up to 10 or 11 miles and then just hold it there for a while, I don't want to go to far to soon and injure myself. My average pace was 8:35 with a total time of 1:01:02, that was a perfect time as my goal today was to run just over 60 minutes and I was able to do it.

My average pace was 9:01 with a total time of 1:12:44, it was just the right amount of time, it was about 10 more minutes than last Saturday so that was just right. I felt okay today I was just kinda there nothing spectacular, I missed a few days this week but I still was able to run a few days so that was good.

Morning run out past the Stake center. It was a serious death march! I have had some rough runs in my career but not like this, not for a while anyway. I crawled up Harry's Hill this Morning and then crawled back to the house the same way, I have really last a lot of fitness just from November. I had a really positive run this morning, it started out slow and difficult, average pace on the first 4 miles were 9:30, but the last 6 miles were in the 8:30 range with the last 2 miles being the quickest and the strongest, those miles were 8:20 and then 8:07. I felt like I could have gone more so that is a good sign that my old self is still in there I just have to stay consistent and it will come back. My average pace was 8:55 with a total time of 1:32:52, I'm really happy with this week and I just have to keep this up and I'll get back to where I was.

I ran the Payson Park Loop and I extended all the way to the Park, I haven't ran this route in a long while... I felt okay but not great and my legs had that hit the wall feeling the last few miles, but I was able to get it done and I am really happy with myself. I felt pretty good at the start this morning but then the last few miles were like a death march, not fun at all, and not to mention the major VPB that I had to endure. I ran out past Gu corner and then down into the river bottoms and then back to the house,  my pace was slow at 8:55 with a total time of 1:30:57... I wasn't able to run on Wednesday or Thursday because of work and then all the graduation stuff that was going on. Our last two kids graduated this year so we are done with high schoolers now, pretty crazy.

I ran the Payson Park loop but I cut out the rollers, I felt a little clunky on the way out but then on the way back I felt a little better. My average pace was 8:41 with a total time of 54:06, I was able to get in a pretty good rhythm and finished pretty strong, it is a good start to the week.

I ran Harrys Hill this morning, I felt a lot stronger today than last time on the uphill and the downhill, I guess the one legged squats are starting to pay off. Progress. I had one MP mile on the downhill (7:48), my average pace was 8:48 with a total time of 56:15. I ran out past Gu Corner and down into the river bottoms and then back to the house the same way, after returning home I did a 2 miles loop back past the stake center via canal road. i felt pretty decent this morning and my legs seemed to handle the mileage good so i feel like I am on the right track and making progress, my average pace was 8:40 with a total time of 1:45:04. I had a pretty strong last mile which tells me I am getting back to where I was before the long lay off, but i still have some work to do.

I ran out to Mini Gu Corner via Canal road, I was having stomach issues the whole way and I even had another VPB so it wasn't real pleasant... I have also tweaked my back so that was bothering me as well but I was able to get her done even though it was slow most of the time. I drove to the top of woodland hills and then I ran down to the mailboxes over to Loafer Canyon road and then up that a little ways and then back down to the house, its a good combination of downhill and uphill. I felt okay but not great, my legs are a little tired but not to bad, I want to do this a few more times before I start running Payson Canyon in a few weeks. My average pace was 8:45 with a total time of 1:07:04, I had a few 8 minute miles on some of the downhill miles but for the most part I tried to just take it easy for the first time down.

I ran the usual route down into the river bottoms and then back to the house, I did few loops around my house to get the 15 plus miles in. I needed to get out at least an hour earlier but I slept in and I really paid for it those last few miles. My average pace was not great but not to bad either, average was 8:53 with a total time of 1:56:29... My goal is to bump up the long run mileage each week, I did some downhill training on wednesday and It kept me from running for a few days because of the stiffness, I hope I'm done with that now too. I really need to be getting the mileage in from here on out.

I didn't run at all this week but I thought I still could get a decent long run in but I did a stupid thing... I hit the hot tub last night late and my legs just felt totally wiped out through the whole run. I hit the wall at Like mile two and then I just gutted it out the rest of the way, I tried to tack on a few more around the house but the old legs just wouldn't go any more. I was going to run with the Spanish fork boys down Payson canyon but I slept through my alarm... So, I drove to the top of woodland hills and ran down to Loafer canyon road, up that about a mile and then back down loafer canyon road to canal road and then home. I had good form on the downhill but my leg turn over is way slower than normal so the pace is about a minute slower than I am usually on this route, the legs felt good on the uphill but the lungs did not... I just need to make sure I either get Payson Canyon in once a week or this route, If I do that then I should be okay for the marathon. My average pace was slow at 8:48 with a total time of 1:07:16, I had one MP mile towards the end, (7:53). My fast twitch muscles are not cooperating.

I ran out to Mini Gu this afternoon and the old legs really had some spunk in them so I let them go so to speak, at least for me any way. My average pace was 8:25 with a total time of 50:22. I had some really faster miles in there and I accidentally forgot to turn my watch off on mile 4 so that screwed up my average but that mile split still would have been ion the 8:15 range, so a good run today. I finished up with some upper body weight training and some push-ups.

I ran out towards Payson this morning via canal road, I didn't feel as spunky as Wednesday but I still felt okay. My average pace was 8:45 with a total time of 41:11, I finished up with some upper body weight training and then some push-ups. I will run a little tomorrow too, probably in the 6 to 8 mile range. My achilles is till a little tight until about a mile and then its fine, I will need to keep an eye on that.

I ran out past Mini GU Corner via canal road and then back to the house, I felt pretty good just kind of a nice easy run and enjoying the morning, my average pace was 8:49 with a total time of 53:45. After the run I did some lower body weight training and then finished up with some push-ups, its been a good week and I hope to add a few more runs next week.

I wasn't able to run or workout yesterday but I was able to get out this afternoon, I ran out to Mini Gu and then back to the house. My average pace was 8:26 with a total time of 51:27, I finished up with some upper and lower body weight training and then some push-ups. I felt good out running, it was a beautiful day.

My goal today was just to run for just over 40 minutes but not exceeding 45 minutes and I was able to split the difference. I ran out towards Payson via canal road and then back to the house, my average pace was slower than yesterday at 8:53 with a total time of 42:21. My legs were a little tired from yesterday as I worked them plenty hard on the Bowflex after my run but they loosened up towards the end of the run which was good.

It was a pretty bad week this week for my running, I have been working on my Christmas displat and then just regular work have kept me pretty busy. I found some time this morning and I ran out to the T in the road pass the stake center, I had to run back tio the house in the first mile because of stomach issues and so that mile was run walk and pretty slow. But everything else was sub 9's,  I just wanted to get something done today... I finshed up with some upper body and lower body weight training.

My first run in a while,  my back has been pretty wrenched out so I did what I could today but it was slow going. I ran out past the Stake Center and toward Mini Gu and then back to the house, my back felt a little better after a few miles. My average pace was slow at 9:25 with a total time of 38:17, like I said it was slow go. I have to find a way to be more consistent, its been a real struggle as of late.

I've been relegated to the elliptical as I have wrenched my back and it is still bothering me pretty good, I ran 30 minutes on the elliptical and then finished up with some leg presses and some push-ups. At least its something. I will probably do another 30 minutes this evening, I can only do 30 minutes intervals.

I ran out to Mini Gu and then back to the house via canal road, I felt pretty good considering that I haven't been running much over the last little bit. My back was marginal at best and I had to shorten my stride some but other than that it was all right. My average pace was 9:04 with a total time of 54:55, I finished up with some upper body weight training and some lower body weight training and then some push-ups. It was a great workout and I am thankful that I was able to do something today.

Its just been hard for me to get out the door this whole year, I'm not sure why but it just has. Time to make some changes and find a plan.

I ran the Big Blue mailbox route which takes me toward Payson via canal road and then back to the house the same way, my legs were pretty tired especially running two days in a row! My average pace was slower today at 9:14 with a total time of 43:25, other than the slower pace and my legs being tired it was a pretty good run and a beautiful morning. I finished up with some upper body weight training and some push-ups. Lets shoot for 3 days in a row tomorrow.

I ran out to Mini Gu Corner and then back to the house all via canal road, It was windy at times and the old legs were pretty tired from 3 days in a row of running. My average pace was 9:15 with a total time of 56:06, I finished up with some lower body weight training... It was a pretty good week for me and I'm glad I was a little more consistant, If I could just add in a day or two then I could start getting some fitness in again, Thats the goal. I will have to go less miles on some of those days as I just don't have the fitness level to go the 6 miles everyday, I will have to work up to that over the next few months.

I had two MP miles in the middle and they were 8:04, 8:03, my average pace was 8:20 with a total time of 51:05. I haven't felt that good for about a year, so it was a really nice surprise, I finished up with some upper body weight training and then some push-ups.

It was to cold for me yesterday. I ran out to Mini Gu Corner and then back to the house via canal road, I ran into my Brother Curtis and we looked at all the Elk that was out it was pretty good to see him again and catch up.  I felt pretty good on the way out but the last couple of miles I slowed a little bit but that's okay it was still an enjoyable run. My average pace was 8:42 with a total time of 53:21, the chill outside was tolerable today.

But I didn't quit and I got through it, my pace was way slow because of the 30 mile an hour head wind and tired legs for some Darn reason...  My average was 9:18 with a total time of 56:45, it was a nice Christmas Eve run and I was able to run in shorts which was nice.
