I had a great run with Kory this morning, but running in the wind really sucks. Kory says that the wind was around 15-25 MPH, but to me it felt more like 30 MPH winds. I sure enjoy running with Kory, we have good conversation and it really helps the run to go by fast. Tomorrow i will be running my seven mile course and then off to Idaho Falls. Thanks for reading and have a great FRIDAY! :)
I had a good day of running with Kory and fun day with him and his daughter in Idaho Falls. I ran seven miles at a 7:07 pace. I was feeling really good today because there was no high winds to run against or should i say fight. But anyway not much planned for tonight, rest and enjoying the night with the wife. Tomorrow my wife and i are going to the movie Fast & Furious, i will let you all know how the movie is. My plan is to run 30 miles with ten mile long run on Friday with Kory. Thanks for reading and have a great Saturday night!!
Day off. This week all i have planed is to run 30 miles. Not much planed for today, church and relax and
movies. I went to the movie Monsters vs. Aliens and Fast & Furious. I know I
am movie crazy, but that is ok because today is my relaxing day and watching
movie help me get my relaxing in for the week. Now for a little movie review
from Barry's corner. Now my first movie Monsters vs. Aliens: I thought it was a
good movie with lots of action, but I thought it needed more 3-D it had a good
beginning and kept me in suspense the whole time. Fast & Furious was really
good, I am not sure if it was as good as the first one, but my wife and I really
enjoyed it. Anyway, Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Ran five miles at a 7:21
pace and I was feeling a little stiff. Not much planed for today, work and
rest. Well not much else to say, thanks for reading and have a great night!
I had a hard time relaxing on my run this morning, i am not sure why. Ran five miles at a 7:07 pace. I have a few things planed for today, work then talk to some people about a job working on wind turbines then the rodeo. I am not really into rodeo, but i will go for my wife because she really wants to go. Now i am off to take a shower and then my morning nap. Thanks for reading and have a great day! :)
Ran four miles at a 7:18 pace. I really did not feel like pushing myself today, so I just relaxed and enjoyed my run. I can not believe that the Salt Lake marathon is next week, then less than a month later is Ogden. Boy time sure does fly by these days. Anyway, I went to the rodeo last night and it was a lot better than i thought. Not much planed for today, work and rest. Then tomorrow i have a eleven mile run planed with Kory, i am not sure if we are running the Pocatello Marathon course or not. Well, thanks for reading and have a great day :)....
I had a really nice easy run today. I ran six miles at a 7:19 pace, three of the miles were with Kory. Well, a week from today is Salt Lake 1/2 marathon I am a little nervous and a little excited. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
I heard a really good prayer this morning and thought i would share it with you. It was suggested to pray it every morning. I really believe that if prayed that God would really use it and you will see God work in ways you have never seen before. This is the prayer
Father thank you for favor in my life!
Father thank you for causing me to be in the right place at the right time!
The Wisdom to make good decisions!
Your Grace to handle any challenges!
Your strength to over come any adversity and Your faith to believe for big things!
I can not wait to see what Your going to do in my situation!
For running this week, not much planed. But i do have my 1/2 marathon race in Salt Lake on Saturday. So please keep me in your prayers and may God Bless you all!!
Ran another four miles at a 7:15 pace. I started getting my gear together last night for my race on Saturday and it took me a long time. I did have to re-format my I-pod which is good because i needed better music on there anyway. The music i had was just to slow for running. But i am about 75% done packing. Anyway, not much planed for today work and fix a friends printer and rest. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Nice easy four miles at a 7:32
pace. I decided to run by feel today and not push myself. The good news is that
I am half way through my work week, plus I get a three day weekend. Anyway, not
much planed for today, my usual work and rest. Also, I went to the chiropractor
yesterday and I really needed the adjustment. Have a good day! :)

To start off I have to thank God for all the help He has given to me. Then I would like to thank Kory for all his help in training me and all the encouragement and helping me to get to this point in my running. Then I have to thank Bill for all his help in pacing me during the race and giving me a plan of attack for the end. Thanks, Kory and Bill! The night before the race Bill, my wife and I had an awesome dinner and we really enjoyed getting to know Bill. I was still pretty nervous about the race and by a miracle Bill and I were able to start the race at the front line. From there we had a good start and for me it got even better, because I did not have to pass a lot of people and that really helped me to save my energy for the end of the race where I really needed it. The first few miles were down hill and then it flattened out to a slight hill to even a bigger hill which really sucked. I am glad I did not know about the hill because I don’t think that I would have run as fast on the rest of the race. But one thing I have learned is that to eat the sports beans during the race which helps me to keep up my energy and helps keep me going. For me it was kind of funny when I was at mile five the leader of the marathon caught up to me which meant they were at mile six. When they passed me it felt like they were just walking by me and they did not even look tired. Anyway, I had kept taking my sports beans and kept my eye on my pace and average pace tying to keep it under 6:53. I do have to say that the course had changed from last year to this year and the course was a lot harder, especially with that nasty hill at the end. I kept trying to catch this person in front of me, which I was able to keep him in sight the whole way but I still was not able to catch him. Also, during the race I kept hearing sirens and I thought it was from my music, but I later found out that the leader in the wheel chair race was behind me almost the whole way. Then around mile eleven they passed me of course with his sirens blasting, so I gave the officer a dirty look. Then I was happy because I did not have to hear that stupid noise any more. After that stupid hill I had to start my self motivating yell which I tell myself “Come on Barry you can do this” which helps me to speed up. I know I am wired, but that is OK. I was 55 out of 4125 and for my age I was 6 out of 247 and I am very proud of myself. Plus I was able to meet Steve (Air Darkhourse) I do have to say he is really an awesome person and someone you all should get to know! We went out for lunch and had a great visit. Thanks Steve you are really an awesome. Any that is my race day in a nut shell, thanks for reading and have a great week!
I was feeling really good today and wanted to run more, but that will come later on this week. Ran five miles at a 7:13 pace and was not really working that hard to get that pace. Tomorrow i am going to run six. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Nice easy run of six miles at a 7:21 pace. I was thinking about running 40 miles this week then jumping it up to 60 next week. Then start my three week mileage cut back for my race in Ogden. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Ran seven miles at a 7:30
pace. I had an ok run today, the last three miles my legs were really tired and
I can really tell that I need an ice bath. I woke up around 2:00 A.M. from a sinus headache and could not fall back to
sleep, so I decided to run my morning run early. But the bad news is that my
head was in pain and my legs did not want to run. On a brighter side of things I
ran into someone name Joe and we had a nice talk for about a half mile. Not
much planned for today, work and then my wife an I are going to see Jeff Dunham
which I am really looking forward to. Anyway, time for shower and bed. Thanks
for reading and have a great day!
Had a good run with Kory this morning! My run in the beginning was a little fast, so that is why i slowed down. On the other had Kory had a great run and after mile six he took off and i did not see him again until I was at his house waiting for him to come home. I have been trying to shorten my stride to help with my running form, but that is not an easy thing to do. I guess i will keep trying until one of these days it clicks and i am able to run proper. Not much planned for today, work and maybe a movie. If i go to a movie i will let you know what movie i go to and what i thought of it. Anyway, have a great day and weekend!
Ran seven miles at a 7:19
pace. I have been struggling with my running form for a long time now and Steve
(Air Darkhorse) told me a way of running that really helped and it helped a
lot. So today's run felt really good and I really am not tired from it. Thanks
Steve! Anyway, Kory and I ran this morning I only ran seven and he ran twelve.
I just wanted to hit 40 for the week and I did :). As usual Kory and I started
out together and then Kory started running faster and faster, but with my way of
running I was not too far behind. The Centaury hill slowed me down, but not
that bad. I still need more practice on the course before I feel more comfortable
running it in a race. Next week I am planning on running 60 miles and trying to
add more speed drills in to help me with my race in May. Not much planned for
today, ridding my scooter around and maybe a movie. Thanks for reading and have
a great day!
Relaxing run this morning. Ran seven miles at a 7:17 pace. Not much planned for today, Church and relaxing. But on the good news is this week i am only working three day this week. But the bad news is I am taking my son to the airport on Thursday and i am not sure when the next time we will see him. He is leaving for Afghanistan in September. Anyway, Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Morning: Another day of running seven miles at a 7:15 pace. I have been trying to run speed drills during my run which has been going good i think. I feel more tired toward the end of my run but i think that is good thing. Anyway, not much planned for today, work and an evening run then rest. My goal for this week is 60 miles, with a long run of 15 miles on Friday with Kory. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
Evening: Nice relaxing run at a 7:35 pace with a 0.5 incline. Thanks for reading and have a great night.
This morning i was woke up my my dog wanting out of my room, then i had a hard time falling back to sleep so i decided to run. As you can tell by my time i was up early. But the good news is i was having a good run. Ran seven miles at a 7:07 pace on my normal seven mile course. Anyway, now it is time to go take a shower and then back to bed. Have a great day!
Easy run today, my pace was 7:29 and my goal was 7:30 per mile. So i did not do to bad trying to reach my goal. Not much planned for today just my usual of work, rest and maybe laser tag tonight with the family. Thanks for reading and have a great day! :)
