I need some help today. Here is the story, last night I received a message from my wife telling me that she canceled an appointment we had today (Wednesday) no big deal. I then went home after work and asked her why she canceled the appointment. All she said was she had a bad day and would not go into detail about it. So today when I woke up I let my dog out to go to the bathroom and started looking for the other dog, I then could not find her. Then I went in and woke her and asked her what happened to my dog. She then informed me that she had her put to sleep. I did not take the news very well. I am the one who took care of the dog, not her. I want to know what gives a person or wife the right to make decisions like that without asking there spouse. What??? Also I need prayer, so please pray for me...
My run today helped me get over my anger toward my wife, a little bit. My pace was 06:38.33. I am feeling pretty good right now. I also received some good news today. The owner of the company I work for came to me and asked me if I wanted to run a race in June; and then told me that the company would sponsor the race for me.

What a day; my pace was 7:02. Not too bad of a pace, but I
realized that I forgot how to pace myself when I run. Also I am hurting on hills,
because my second mile had a little hill and I did not do very well on running
it. I am predicting for my race
coming up in Salt Lake to be about 1:45 for a half marathon. So guess if anyone has any advice I could use
it now.

| Today's run did not go so good. I was not feeling too great and after three miles my body wanted to stop. My pace was 06:43.00. The first three miles was 6:59 pace then i had to go to the bathroom and rest for a minunite because i was not feeling good. Then the last seven miles were a 06:36.14 pace. |

Not a bad run today; I was a little tired but not too bad. My pace was 07:11.17. I have noticed that my treadmill pace it fifteen seconds faster than my street running. Something to think about.. J |

What a day of running; my pace was 06:47.00. I did find out that my thyroid is not working and it is affecting my running. So I am now taking some herbal medication to help my thyroid start working again. The problem is that when I am running I am getting dizzy and sick and have to stop in the middle of my run. So I am praying that this herbal medication works. Thanks for reading this. |

What a day... My body decided to get sick on mile two instead of mile three. So I used the time to get a drink and other stuff. So my pace today was 06:57.17. I think I feel the medicine working, but I am not sure. I do pray that by body will be better by the race next week.

Another rough day, my stomach was giving me problems. Well
just say that I had to go to the bathroom a lot during my run today. If I figure
right my over pace was a 6:55, I think.

Today I was trying to run some mile repeats but the mile I was
running was uphill. And I did not run on the treadmill today. I was going to
run six miles, but for uphill running that was way too much for me. I think
next time I am going to run half mile runs, I think I would get a better
workout.

I am cutting back on mileage, because i
have a race this weekend. My pace was 7:08 with a one percent incline
starting at 1.75 out of 5.00 miles. I want to try to simulate running
on a road as much as possible. With one hundred sit ups. Also, I am
not sure what to cut back to on my mileage. I was told by someone to
cut back at least 75%of my mileage per week. Any suggestions?

Today not a good day at all. My run
started out good, but ended bad. By mile two I was dizzy and not
feeling good. So I stopped for a couple of minutes and went back to
running and that did not help very much at all. I just kept feeling
worse and more worse. So went back to work and told the owner that I
needed to go to the doctor because I was having heart problems. So I
went to the doctor and had some blood work and a EKG done. And all I
found out is my heart is good. I still do not know why I am getting
sick in the middle of my running. I was also told to have a running
test to see what my heart is doing while I am running. But that cost
275.00 so I will pray about this and decided if I need to get this
done. And I am still plan on running the Salt Lake half marathon on
Saturday.Also my pace was 7:19 per mile..

Not too bad day of running; my pace was 06:56.60. I had to
stop running at mile 2.50 then I was able to finish and when I was one I felt
good.

| Nice easy run today. My pace was 07:26.33. Also, starting next week no more treadmill :(. I am going to miss the treadmill. But i did talk to my trainer and i think we have a plan of action for me. I will tell you all next week what the plan is...Have a Great day.... |

Wow what a race. When I went into this race I was really nervous.
I had been running the treadmill and was not sure how I would run a race on the
road. But thanks to God and Kory I was able to run a good race. I have to thank God for helping me because
when I started He gave me some scripture that helped me to know that He was
going to help me and when by body started falling apart he help me to finish
the race. And Kory for going with me and
also helping to build my confidence and having someone there to talk to and
come up with a plan of how to run the race.
Also, the day of the race the weather really sucked and the wind was
just horrible, I think the wind was blowing at 20 mph with gust up to 25 mph. My
over all place was 200 out of 3819, and for my age I was 22 out of 199. Some of
my problems were that I needed to be more hill ready and I was not. So before my next race in May I plan on
running some hill. The next race will be in Ogden Utah May 17 and I am a little
excited to run.

Now some fun stuff about the day before and the day of the
race. I did get to meet some really good runners like Sasha and Adam, thanks to
Kory for introducing me to them. But one
thing about Sasha is he really helped me on my running by giving me a running
plan during the winter which really helped be to get to this point of my
running, so thank you very much. One funny thing about the start of the race
was when they started the race I stood around for about three minutes and when I
finally got to the chip starter the song playing on my mp3 player was “who let the dogs out.” And after the race I was waiting to cheer
Kory, Adam and Sasha on I was really amazed by watching the winners of the
marathon coming in to the home stretch. Then I had a really good ride home and great
conversation with Kory. This was a very very fun weekend for me.

Not much planned for this week in
running. I was told by my trainer to not run very much this week. My
pace today was 7:42 and according to him I am should be running 9:00
miles. So this week I am not running much and it will be a lot slower
times. Then I was told after this next race I should not plan any
races for a while. He wants to build my aerobic base mileage. Which I
am bummed because I want to race some more races, but I understand
what he wants to do.

Today’s run was another easy day. My pace was 9:10; I think my body is ready to pick it up a little. This is a new way of running for me because I am use to running fast every time I run. So I am praying that in the long run I will be running a lot better than if I was running my way. |

Today’s workout was fun. I ran three miles in 26:23 (08:47.67 per mile), but every ¾ of a mile I would pick it up from a 9:00 minute mile to a 7:00 minute mile for about thirty seconds and then I would back down to a 9:00 minute mile. It was a nice change for me. |

Nice easy run today. My pace was 8:53. I have to tell
on myself, I have been running the treadmill. I know I said I should be running
outside, but I figure that this week is a relaxing week for me and it would be
ok to run on the treadmill. I have been running with the incline set at one
percent and today I ran with it at two percent. I do plan on running my ten mile run on
Saturday outside. I am running the
Pocatello marathon course to help me get use to running down hill, to prepare me for the
Ogden ½ marathon.

What day of running, my pace was 8:54.
But it sure was a pain. The course I used was the beginning of the
Pocatello Marathon and that is a down hill course. So my goal for
running was to run nine minutes miles and running a down hill course
that becomes very hard, I think I wore myself out trying not to run
so fast. I kept speeding up to a eight minute mile and then slowing
down to a nine minute miles. So by mile seven/ eight I was wore out.
Also, I did not bring any water with me. But praise God my friend
that came with me had some extra water. So the last few miles I had
to stop a couple of time, but that is OK I guess. My heart rate over
all was a 150 bpm (Beats per minutes). Over all not too bad of run..

Todays run was a windy one and a little
warm, the temperature was 72 degrees. I ran ten miles today,
according to my trainer I should have ran ten tomorrow. But today
worked out better. I really do miss my treadmill. Why you ask OK I
will tell you, 1) no wind 2) no traffic 3) It sets the pace for you.
4) Smooth running, I could go on but I think you get the point. So
anyway have a good night or day, depending on when ever you read
this.

Todays run was OK, my pace was 8:57.
But at mile four I stopped and talked with a friend and forgot to
stop my watch, so that is why my time it at 14:16. I have been
learning a lot about running, and what I have been learning is I need
to slow down and work on my aerobic running. Which is really hard for
me because I like to run fast. But thanks to Steve and Kory, I think
I am understanding why. But it has not been easy for me. I will
write about this more tomorrow.

Today was a eye opener for me. I did
not realize how much out of shape I am, or should I say my aerobic
training fitness sucks. How can I tell this, well my run today I was
tying to keep my BPM between 120-150. I was able to keep it low, but
I was running so slow that I could have been speed walking faster
than my run today. It was kinda of funny when my five mile run was
over I could not feel my legs because they were so numb from running
so slow. But I will keep running this slow if it helps me to obtain
my 1:30 minute for a Half-Marathon. So thank you for reading, and if
