No running today.. I did have my pastor at my church pray for me and the other day God gave me a scripture on healing. So I am claiming that I am healed in Jesus Name. :)

Today’s run felt good. My shin splint is getting better and I was able to run four miles. My average pace was 08:54.25. I ran on the treadmill because I felt I need a soft place to run and the treadmill was the best for me. I did try to include some inclines but that started to become too much for me  I am not sure how much to run tomorrow, but I will pray about it and see how my let feels tomorrow and go from there. What day, I almost did not run today. When I was at the GYM and going through my stretching routine I felt pretty good, but when I started running I almost stopped.  My right calf was almost hurting to the point of stopping, but a couple miles in the run it started getting better not much better.  So I think I will have to see about tomorrow running. I will let you know.

I was not sure if I was going to run today, but after going to the doctor I felt really good about running. My goal was six miles on the treadmill with a .5 percent incline with my pace per mile about 9:00. I was also treated for my IT muscle for repair and was told how to treat my shin splints, it worked but I was feeling pain in other places and I was also told to take 800 mg of ibuprofen three times a day.  I am praying this will take care of my shin splints. Not to bad of a run today. My 1 1/4 mile pace was about a nine minute mile pace with a 0.5 incline. While running i ran into a friend i use to work with at AMI. and she was so impressed how i am looking. And i have to say that made me feel great. So when i ran the next 4 3/4 mile i was feeling good and ran faster with an increase of my incline and pace. I was able to run an 8:34 pace with an 1.0 incline. I did keep an eye on my bpm and keep it between 140 to 150. I have to say my shin splints were feeling OK to good, but i still have pain. Thanks for reading and have a great day...

I had a nice run today. My shin bothered me a little bit but not bad well just say compared to Friday it was like night and day. I ran six miles with a 0.5 incline and my BPM was between 146-154, my pace was 8:23. When i was talking to my friend while running we decided to run a marathon in December in Las Vegas. So that will be my first marathon and i am a little excited to see how I will do. Thanks for reading and have a good night.

I have decided to take a break from running :(. My shin is not healing and I need to stop running until it is fully healed. I have tried everything else and nothing is working. So I am hoping that in a week or two I will be back to running. I think I will try will try using the stair stepper or the elliptical machine. If anyone has any advice for me I could really use it right now. Thanks for reading and have a good day..

Evening: 

I went to the doctor today and we decided that taking four weeks off would be the best for me. Then we talked about cross training like the stair stepper, elliptical and riding the bike. So i am going to start my work outs with riding the bike and then use the elliptical 45 min to 1 1/2. And some of the reports i have been reading says that the elliptical will almost give you a better work out. Any other suggestions?

I did not run today, but I used the elliptical. And I am feeling a little soar but not too bad. I hope that when I can start running again that I will be in better shape compared to when I started using the elliptical.

I am trying to get myself instead of reaching a mileage point that I can reach a time point. I used the elliptical for one hour today and when I was done I could not feel my legs. So I know that it is working. I also kept my heart rate from 140 – 150 bpm. My ultimate goal is to use the elliptical hour and half every day. So I will see how that goes. Nice easy day. But i am having a harder time keeping my heart rate around 150, i think that is good? Also, i am not sure why but when I start the elliptical i have a hard time keeping my heart rate even close to 150 it is either too high or too low. It takes me about fifteen to twenty minutes to obtain my goal of 150 bpm. Weird... Thanks for reading and have a great day.

I tried running before i used the elliptical and my shin was still hurting. So i used the elliptical for one hour, then i tried running again and it was a no go. I think i am going to go to the doctor tomorrow and see how my shin is progressing. I will let you all know more tomorrow after my doctor appointment. Thanks for reading and have a good night...

Today I tried something different. I use the stair stepper for fifteen minutes and the elliptical for forty five minutes. I read on the internet last night that if you want to keep your endurance use the elliptical and if you want to run faster use the stair stepper. So today I did both. My shin bothered me a little with the stair stepper, but not too bad. So tomorrow I think I will use the stair stepper for ten minutes and the elliptical for fifty minutes. I did forget to tell about my doctor appointment. Not much to tell about. The doctor said that my shin is looking good and I also had him look at my shoes for wear pattern from running. Well according to my right shoe pattern I do have the tendency to have shin splints. So after some discussion he told me how to fix the problem. I think I am going to try to go every week until the shin splints are gone. One more thing we talked about. I asked him about getting shin splints back after I start running again. He told me that as long as I keep doing cross training that I should not get them back. He told me that people who that just stop and do nothing while there shin splints heal are the one that get them back when they start running again. I guess there was a lot to talk about, oh well. Afternoon:

When I started my workout I was going to just use the stair stepper for ten minutes, but I was feeling so good I decided to go for the fifteen minutes. When I was using the stair stepper I did not feel any pain from my shin, but some burning and I think that was from building muscle that I lost during this time of healing. Then I used the elliptical for forty five minutes, I am starting to feel better using that machine not as much pain. The elliptical is a lot harder than I thought. So now what will I do, I think I will start asking God when I can start running again. So thanks for reading and have a Great Day..

Not too bad of a day. I ran for a mile and a half at a nice easy pace then I used the stepper for fifteen minutes and then the elliptical for half an hour. My shin did not bother be too much, I felt a little tension but no pain. I am taking my running nice and slow. Thanks for reading…

Today I ran a mile and a half with forty five minutes on the elliptical. I also went to the doctor today and found out that my shin splint on my right leg is about thirty percent healed. I am getting really frustrated about my leg and the healing process. But I know that God works all things for those who trust him. Today went good for me. The doctor told me I can run a mile and then do the rest of my work out on the elliptical, but my shin was a little soar. I have been icing my shin at night and praying for healing.  Then I used the elliptical for fifty minutes, keeping my heart rate between 145 – 160 bpm. Thanks for reading and may God bless you.

Today I felt good so I decided to use the elliptical and run. I started with thirty minutes on the elliptical and then twenty minutes of running then back to the elliptical for twenty five minutes. I am keeping my running at a ten minute pace, so running that slow does not bother my shin. I actually felt like I had a good workout. I have been redoing my back deck and that has taken a lot of my time. So that is why I am not keeping up with my blog. Thanks for reading and have a great day…
