I needed to run today since i took two days off from running. My goal now is to run for time and not mileage. So i ran an half hour at a 8:58 per mile pace. My shin is soar so i am going to ice it. The good news is my heart rate was between 144 - 153 at that pace. Not bad, i think. Thanks for reading and have a great day..
Not too bad of a day, the shin was a little soar but not too bad. I ran for forty five minutes (5.05 @ 8:57 pace) then i used the elliptical for fifteen minutes ( .68 miles). Not much else to say. I guess i have one more thing to say and that my deck is 95% done :). Thanks for reading and have a great night...
Today was an interesting day. I started out running at a
nice easy pace and then my shin started bothering me. So when I was at my first
mile I decided to stop and wrap my shin and guess what that helped. So I went
back to running and decided to test my heart rate. I usually like to keep my
heart rate around 150 bpm. So as I am increasing my speed I notice that my
heart is also rising with the speed of the machine. So I then decided to take a drink of water, and
then guess what happened next? My heart rate went down. So I increased my speed
again and my heart rate started to go up, then I took another drink. And as I am
running it came to me, it was like the light bulb turned on. And this is what I
came up with. As my heart rate goes up my body starts to dehydrate or as my
wife says “starts to stress.” So when I was running I would drink some water
which would help me to keep my heart rate around 150 bpm which would stop my
body from stressing out. So I was able to run a 7:57
pace and keep my heart rate around 150 because I was drinking water. So let me jump back for a minute and talk
about the past for a minute. When I would run nine minute mile my heart rate
would be around 150 +.So my little test today was called the Water test let me
know when my body starts stressing out I need water and I could tell this by my
heart rate. So please let me know what you think about my water test and if you
have seen the same thing when you are running. Thanks for reading and have a great night…
I ran six miles at a 07:56.50 pace. I was trying to keep my
heart around 145 - 155 bmp. I think I did a good job at that. I also rolled my
shin before I ran and that helped a lot. Plus, I am going tot the doctor for a
check up. I have a lot to do tonight so I will write and tell about my doctor appointment
tomorrow. Thanks for reading and have a great night.
I had good news from the doctor yesterday. He said that my
shin is 75 to 80 % healed. I also talked to him about my training. He told me
not to run on cement or asphalt because those are the hardest on your legs.
Then I talked to him about cross training, so for now on Monday, Wednesday and
Friday I am going to run. Then on Tuesday and Thursdays I am going to use either
the stair stepper or the elliptical for about a half an hour and then run for a
half an hour. I hope my plans works. I want to run a marathon this year and I would
like to do well and this is my training plan to help me get there. Thanks for
reading and I will write later today…
I ran for half an hour then used the stair stepper for another half an hour. My shin was a little soar, but other than that i am doing good.
Ran eight miles at a 07:41.75 pace. I was trying to keep my heart rate between 145-155. I think i accomplished my goal. My shin was a little soar, but whats new? Thanks for reading and have a great night... :)
Today's run was a big pain. I could not tell where the pain was coming from in my right calf muscle or shin. So i keep praying and wrapping my let tighter and tighter. I did run 10.3 miles in an hour in a half. I think i am soar from yesterdays run? But thanks for reading and have a great night.... :)
No running today. My leg is really soar so i decided to take a brake from running today and tomorrow. I think the time off will help my leg to heal. I will try runnning Sunday. Thanks for reading and have a great day... :)
I was only planning on running three, but i was feeling really good and decided to run six. I think i needed to slow down and not run by my heart rate. I ran 8:57 pace with no incline. Thanks for reading and have a great night..... :)
Ran three miles today, at an 8:57 pace. One good thing
happened today. I forgot to take my pain medicine, so I was really worried how
my shin would be but it was a little more soar than usual but not too bad. Then
I used the elliptical for a half an hour, so I was able to get 1.25 mile on it.
So over all not a bad day. I am learning something new and that is my knee on
my right leg I starting to give me problems. So I guess I have to go to the
doctor again. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day….. J
I ran three mile in 08:30.00 then i used the elliptical for a half hour. Then i wen to the doctor and had my hip adjusted it was out really bad.. Now i am looking at buying new shoes, because it is time to replace my old ones. Thanks for reading... :)
Today i used the elliptical for a half hour then ran three miles. With the elliptical you have the option to to go forward or backward. The first fifteen minutes i used the elliptical backward and i felt pain in my legs where i have not felt pain before. Then i ran three miles in 08:26.67 pace, then back to the elliptical for another fifteen minutes, but this time i used the elliptical forward. Over all i think i did good. After going to the doctor yesterday, my knee felt good and my shin is getting better i feet i can run better. Thanks for reading and have a great night.
I used the elliptical for ten minutes, then ran five in a half miles. My leg was feeling good, just a little pain here and there. But i am still praying for 100% healing. Also, i ran a couple of miles with the incline at 1.0. Thanks for reading and have a nice day..
Nice easy day of running. I used the elliptical for 5 minutes, then ran six miles at a 8:20 pace. I can tell for sure that i need new shoes. Not much else to say, but have a great night.
I just found out yesterday that my son (stepson) is now in the Air Force. I will write more later...
Today was a hard day. When i was getting ready at theGYM my friend asked me if i wanted to run with him, so i said ok. Boy i did not know what i was getting myself into. The first half of the run was almost straight up hill and i am not ready for hills yet. And this size of hill not even close. But i think i did ok, my friend told me that the first time he ran the hill he had to walk some of it because he was not ready for it. But i ran the whole thing without stopping. One good thing my shin did not give me too much of a proble, but that is to be expected. I did not do time, so i am not sure what my time was. Then i used the ellipticla for almost five minutes. So i guss not too bad of a day. Thanks for reading and have a great night... :)
Nice easy run today. I was trying to run by my heart rate, i was trying to keep it around 150 - 160 bpm. So i was able to run the ten mile in 79:46 at a 07:58.60 per mile. My shin was a little soar and so was my knee.I think that was from yesterday run. But i am done and tomorrow and Saturday I will take it easy. Have a great night.... :) Also i did run the treadmill with a 0.5 incline the whole ten miles...
