Well it has a bee a minute!  I have basically been out for over 5 months.  My achilles is not better yet, but has improved alot.  I figured I would try a run today, knowing it would probaly be rough.  The run itself wasn't too bad in some ways.  For example I ran without pain, only some feelings of tighness, so that os awesome.  I am way freakin out of shape though, and it has been so long that I fogot how to run in a sense.  We will see how the recovery goes now?  I expect a little swelling and stiffness.  I did ultrasound it before I left and will do it again tonight.  8:10 ave, 8:43-7:36.  Good to get out there.  I weight about 195 right now, so we will see how that goes too.

Went out again today for an easy 3 miles.  Ultra sounded before I left. that seems to help.  8:28 ave

If I give myself a day or o in between and baby ithe achilles it seems to be good enough that I don't limp too much on a short run.  Gets stiff a couple hours later though.   Similar run to Tuesday, but 8:16 ave.

Ran this morning and it was 12 degrees outside!  Really tried to not limp, I think I did pretty good for the most part.  Went out the same way, but came back a different way.  I still ultrasounded before the run and I still get really tight a couple hours after, not right after though.  8:05 ave.  I am just so grateful to run, so I will keep babying it along or whatever I need to do.  6 months off sucked!

Achilles seems to be getting a bit better most days.  I went out today and it was faily slick out.  First mile was 8:49, 2nd 7:52, last mile was 6:57.  A sub 7:00!  Been a long time.  Achilles seems to be fine for a while, but after an hour or so, even with stretching really good and icing, it will get really stiff and still inflames. 7:52 ave

13 degrees out this morning!  Roads were very slick from the sciff of snow we got.  This artic freeze blowing in is legitly cold!  I went easy today, but ended up talking myself innnnnnnnto going 4 miles.  The achilles was pretty tight yesterday, so I took it easy and ate way too much sugar and junk.  Woke up this morning mildly congrested, mostly from eating neighor goodies.  I ultrasounded before I left for 7 minutes, it seems to help loosen me up.   8:13 ave for the run today.

Achilles was pretty tight today, spent about an hour ultrasounding and stretching it before I left.  I was tight enough that I was feeling it the whole run, especially on the lateral distal end.  Tried not to limp.  It was warmer today (32 degrees) and not many people out and about, which was really nice.    7:54 ave for the run and the last mile was 6:46.

Merry Christmas!

Ran 3 miles with Jaren at 7:49 ave.  Achilles was was pretty sore all weekend.  I spend a good hour on it before running today.  It was okay for the most part during the run, and felt fine right after, but then it got sore later.  First run with Jaren in probably 7 months.

Ran this morning late, pretty slick out todat with the new snow.  I was pretty slow because of that and the achilles just gets so sore and stiff still.  I still spend about an hour of prepping with stretching and ultrasound beforehand, it gets pretty sore a couple hours later.  8:22 ave.

Decided to go back to back days.  the achillles was sore all day yesterday, but was a bit better this morning, so I did my regular achilles prep and went out on the same run as yesterday out Prospero and loop on the trail and Mirabella and back.  7:52 ave today.

3 days in a row.  Same thing as yesterday, it was sore all day, but I worked on it for a while this morning and the achilles felt good enough to try, besides it is New Years Eve!  Same exact run as yesterday, but a bit faster with a 7:42 ave.  Rainy today and I got pretty wet.  All the snow for the last three days is gone now.
