Met Tim, Evan, and Spencer again at Butterfield.  This time we ran down by my house and down the Bluffdale route.  Planted some drinks at Bluffdale Park.  The snow was coming down the whole run and it was around 27-30 degrees.  Glad I wor a hat to keep it out of my eyes more.  The only bad part was going down 13400 S.. Evan slipped and fell on his back, arm, and head on the sidewalk by Monarch.  We had just been talking about getting off the slick sidewalk when he went down.  Banged his arm the worst, but got his head too, bummer!  That was Tim's whole fear in going out today.  The rest of the run was good.  I took off the last 2 miles and went 6:30 and 6:20 to stretch out the 7:45 ave a bit.  Glad to get this one done.  7:35 ave

It has been really cold, in fact it was single digits last night.  Been a bit tight and tired this week and I was not excited for this run.  However, it wasn't too bad.  I drove Hunter and Tim over.  We met Evan and warmed up for about 1.75 miles at 8:38 ave. .  It was about 15 degrres at the start, but I dressed about righhhh.  Went out at 6:30 pace and mainatined that through the first half.  I tried to pick it up a bit, but didn't start going faster until 2 to go.  Ended up running a 1:00.2 after a 30:30 first half, so I was happy with that.  Passed a couple people in the last couple of miles which is always nice.  6:25 ave for the run.

Solo 20 miler this morning.  Took a day off for my Birthday weekend and decided to get the long run out of the way.  Weather was decent, high 40s and just a few sprinkles.  I did my normal route if I were going up Butterfield Canyon, but stayed on the highway and then ran down toHerriman High.  Added a bit at the end of 6000 W.  Then I went back to 6400 West and the standard 5 miles home, other than I was long, so I took Prospero instead of Rosecrest in the last mile.  This was a tough run, a lot of hills.  Glad I had music with me.  Planted drinks for 5 miles, 12, miles, and 16 miles.  Last 3 miles were sub 7:00 (6:48, 6:34, and 6:29).  Glad to get this one done.  7:25 ave after a 7:39 ave first 10.

Started a 20 miler with Tim, Evan, Brandon, and Jaren was coming the first part.  Started at Tim's house.  Knee was a bit better than the past couple of runs, however I could feel my stride was off.  We stopped at my house for everyone to catch up, this was at 8 miles.  We got a Gu and a drink and headed out.  I made it 1 mile to Monarch and was running with Brandon and all of the sudden my right claf sized up on me with sharp pain.  I stopped and tried to stretch, but it was too cranked and I was afraid of  straining it worse so I bailed.  Super disappointed about this one.  I ended up walking home and driving down to the end with my bike and riding the last few miles with the guys.  My calf is definitely hurt now too, probably from over compinating for my knee.  Super frustrating that I have Boston in two weeks and am injured, especially since I have been so healthy!  I guess the plan is to get as healthy as possible in two weeks and try to maintain some kind of fitness level.

Ran from camp at Cottonwood down to Nephi.  It was gorgeous at first, but at about 3 miles a warm south wind picked up and I had a headwind the rest of the way.  Doesn't happen too often that you get a headwind going down the caynon.  First mile was slower because the achilles on my left side is having issues and is the reason I took yesterday off.  It warmed up though and I ran decent down and was uder 7:00 every mile after with my last one at 6:23 and an average of 6:49 for the run.  needed this run, because I have Bryce in 3 weeks and I am not in shape, or 100% yet.

Achilles was pretty tight today, spent about an hour ultrasounding and stretching it before I left.  I was tight enough that I was feeling it the whole run, especially on the lateral distal end.  Tried not to limp.  It was warmer today (32 degrees) and not many people out and about, which was really nice.    7:54 ave for the run and the last mile was 6:46.

Merry Christmas!

Ran 3 miles with Jaren at 7:49 ave.  Achilles was was pretty sore all weekend.  I spend a good hour on it before running today.  It was okay for the most part during the run, and felt fine right after, but then it got sore later.  First run with Jaren in probably 7 months.

Ran this morning late, pretty slick out todat with the new snow.  I was pretty slow because of that and the achilles just gets so sore and stiff still.  I still spend about an hour of prepping with stretching and ultrasound beforehand, it gets pretty sore a couple hours later.  8:22 ave.

Decided to go back to back days.  the achillles was sore all day yesterday, but was a bit better this morning, so I did my regular achilles prep and went out on the same run as yesterday out Prospero and loop on the trail and Mirabella and back.  7:52 ave today.

3 days in a row.  Same thing as yesterday, it was sore all day, but I worked on it for a while this morning and the achilles felt good enough to try, besides it is New Years Eve!  Same exact run as yesterday, but a bit faster with a 7:42 ave.  Rainy today and I got pretty wet.  All the snow for the last three days is gone now.
