We got another 3 inches of snow on top of the 7 or 8 we had.  Spent about an hour and a half shoveling, on top of the 2 hours yesterday, but I will take it, we need the snow so bad!  Wore my hiking shoes (SpeedCross) today for traction.  Same run as Saturday. The roads were bad and the sidwalks worse, some of the spots on the trail were almost a foot deep, so it was tough and slow going.  First run of the year.  The achilles was better this morning than in has been, but I didn't prep and ultrasound, so it didn't feel great on the run and started to get tight right after.  9:11 ave

Leg and back day and then practice at the HS.  Ran hen I got home and right before dark.  Roads are really bad and and still a lot of snow and ice.  Tired and schilles was a bout the same as it's been so it was slow going, but I was glad I did it.   8:23 ave

Ran 4 miles with Jaren late morning.  I worked on the achilles pretty good last night, and spent some some this morning warming it up.  It was probably the best it has been in 6 months.  I am anout 198 pounds righ now though, so lots of work to do by end of March.

Freezing rain today and I got drenched!  Glad I was able to run though.  Achilles was a bit better than usual, but of course was sore later.  Did a different out and back today on Morning Blush and Emeline.  7:43 ave and 6:41 last mile.

Ran later just before dark.  Very similar run as the other day, but no freezing rain.  I felt the feeling in my upper stomach like I was running and out of shape, and it is that uncomfortable feeling, but I had less achilles issues than I have had yet.  6:36 last mile, mostly downhill, and a 7:36 ave.

It was warmer. like low 40s, today.  I spendt a while this morning cleaning up around the yard and doing some things with the vehicles before snows again.  Got out on a run around noon.  Achilles wasn't as good today, but it seems to be improving a bit.  I tried my new hot pink Nike ZoomX Invincible FK2s.  They were great, kind of a weird shoe, but very good ride and comfy.  Ran up to Emeline via Morning Blush and Crown Rose and out to the end of Butterfield Park and back.  Kind of kicked my butt today!  7:33 ave and last mile was 6:42, so I will take it.

Ran with Jaren up oin Mantua.  Because of the snow we couldn't make it around the lake, it was too deep.  So we ran the road and part of the trail on the NE side and back.  8:26 ave.  Still snowy and icy, but doable.

Ran this afternoon for a bit longer, 4.5 miles.  The achillles was about the same.  I do better when I take a few minutes and ultrasound, and I should have today.  I felt okay today.  The plan should probably be to get frequency up, so maybe get 4 days in a week in.  7:35 ave and about 27 degrees today.

Went 7 miles today, out to Cove Pond and back.  But I went out via Prospero, so I added up the hill on Emeline to get the 6.5 to 7 miles.  Lets were tired from lifting and I didn't feel like running.  Achilles was about average, stiff and sore.  On my way back i ran into the kids and met them all with a snowball!;).  This run hammered me, longest run by 2 miles since June when I got hurt.  Ended up with a 7:39 ave.  Might pay the price for this one.

Ran 8 miles today.  Achilles was pretty stiff even though I took 2 days off.  Ultrasounded first thing, which helped.  Had a hard time breathing, was pretty congested, and the air was pretty crappy too.  But I got it done.  Did a variation of a loop out to to cove and back.   fairly prorgessive 8:50 first miles going up Highfield and Patriot, 8:05 next mile, then under 8:00 after that, with the last one at 6:47.    7:40 ave.  Goal next week is to run 4 days.

Did not feel great today!  Got out for a run after some ultrasound, but it still took a while to get the achilles warmed up, in fact, it never really did completely.  Ended up with 4.5 miles at 7:30 pace, which is good for me right now. 8:28, 8:06, 7:14, 6:55, and 6:04 pace for the last half.  My calf gets so tight in some areas, probably from overcompinsating.

Snow day today, so we had virtual learning.  Then because of the crazy storm and drifts I spent 3 hours moving snow.  Once I got a bit of food and recovered for a little while I went out running.  The roads were bad and I was tired form snow removal and legs yesterday.  Pretty slow and tough run.  Glad to have time to do it though.  Achilles was about normal.  Did some scar tissue massage and scaping afterward, so tomorrow I will be sore.  8:10 ave.

Went running this afternoon with no achilles prep, which I probably needed.  It was a blizzard at first, then warmed up a bit, then got freezing cold.  I ran out to the Cove and headed up the hill to where the kids were.  I ran into them half way up and they were heading down.  The first part of the run I felt tired and the claves and achilles were sore.  But on the way back, with a lot of downhill, I went 6:45, 6:36, 6:28, and 6:33 last 4 miles, which gave me a 7:24.  that is actually my best average back.  8:19, 8:05, 8:03, and 8:23 were the run up.  Mostly ran solo on  this one.   Glad to get it done.

AM- This is probably the last run for a couple weeks.  I am going into a boot today to try to isolate this achilles and get it better, because it just isn't getting better after 12 months.  Ran with Jaren ad the kids this morning.  Went to rosecrest and then up to the church on Juniper Crest and back.  We turned around on Rosecrest before the church and ran home.  5.5 miles at 7:30 ave.  Achilles was super sore and stiff today, so it is time to try something else.  I would like to run and hike again without issues.

The clay on the trail is super slick.  I was happy because I haven't done a trail run in a year.  I went and got adjusted yesterday and did some trigger point stuff and scaped and it all seemed to help.  I wasn't as stiff and sore today as I have been.  The switchbacks up seemed to be not as extreme and I was able to get warmed up.

Got up at 4:00am and caught the bus across the street with Jaren, Tim, and Evan and his daughter.    We hung out at Ruby's Inn for a while and then Jaren and I warmed up a mile at9:03 pace.  The achilles wasn't great, but much better as I got warmed up.

When the race started, I took off pretty conservatively, I jsut wasn't sure how I could do with my broken body, but hoped for the best.  The first couple miles were in the 6:30s and then I started going faster when we hit the canyon.  The downhill with the curved road the way it was was a bit tough on my body, it hit my right leg ( quad is often tight) and my left calf (injured and non healing stupid achilles) just the right way to cause it stress.  I just tried to stay consistent throughout the race and stay tough.  Ended up getting back into the 6:30s a bit, but held on to average 6:20 for the run.  I got passed by 2 guys in the last 5 miles, but passed about 5 people, so I gained 3 spots and ended up 1:23 and 14th place.  If I would have realized the time, I might have pushed a bit harder to hit at least the 1:22s.  I was happy enough with this race, considering that my training has sucked for over a year and I have been so messed up with this injury, and still am.  2nd slowest half marathon, but I will take it!

Jaren did well, he ran smart and tough and ended up 5th place in his first half and got some prize money.  Proud of him!  It was a fun weekend in Bryce and we ende up doing well, and did some great hikes at Bryce.  headed back to Nephi for the car show parade, and the best rodeo by far in the state, the Ute Stampede.

Ran a 10 mile loop out around Herriman High and back with the team.  About 3 miles in the left hammy cranked up and I didn't know if I would make it or not.  Stretched i a couple times and continued on.  Stopped and waited for Brroklyn and ran with her the remainded, about 6 miles.  7:29 ave.  Body is beat up, but I haven't run that far since Bryce.  Doubled my weekly milage with on run.

Same run as Saturday.  We got rained on good the first couple of miles and got soaked.  The run wasn't too bad, went slower too.  The left hamstring was sore tight and sore, I think I overdid it with the TENS yesterday.  7:50 ave
