Yesterday I had some kind of tendon pain near my calf/inner side. So I didn't think I would be waking up to do anything today. Turns out I am ok? I am confused because it hurt a lot yesterday. I woke up and had zero pain. It was 7:15 so to late to drive up and meet Jun, Matt, Rad and co. (so sorry guys!) So I ran from my house up the trail then onto the hill of canyon road. I felt so strong this morning. No fatigue, and I feel as though I am efficiently using oxygen at a higher threshold now.  The tempo back down hill was awesome. I felt like I was flying!  :)

7 miles - hard workout. First 30 minutes went like this: incline varied between 2-2.5% for 5 minutes on and 3 minutes off. Speed was progressive, went up 1 blip every 5 minutes. Lots' of things to pay attention to simultaineously while running, sheesh.

Minutes 31-54 were done at a 1.5% incline 1/2 mile repeats at a 6:27 pace. 400 m recovery in between. The sweat, oh the sweat!

17 minutes elliptical hell, of course  :)

Weights for 30 minutes. I don't like the meathead lifestyle and aura. Just my opinion....

Ran 9 miles with no real structure of a workout or anything. It was just for the fun of it.

14 minutes elliptical.

I slept in a little. Then 60 minutes on the elliptical. My foot had sharp pains Monday and Tuesday night. Thought I should be careful again today. My Doctor thinks my feet and I are a joke. You wouldn't believe how many times in the last 3 years I have been in there for hurt feet. The same question is always asked: "are you wearing good supporting shoes during the day?" ummmmmmmmmmmmmm  no. I walk around my home without shoes on all day. And the shoes I do wear out are dainty, thin and cute. Not supportive at all. I already know the solution to my problem. Let me now get a clue and appppply them :)

7 miles with Rachelle and Jen on the salem canal/partial harry's hill incline loop :)

Great workout for building endurance. I have missed Jen tons! I never saw her this summer at any races since I was out with my calf problems. Beautiful foggy morning. Glad my foot allowed me to run with them today. :)

River trail loop x2 with Rachelle. This weather has been so nice out for running. Our time went by fast- chatting away. Loved it. :)

Weight trained for 20 minutes. But I am just not into lately. Its ok, I don't NEED to be into it with Boston sorta on the horizon.

Ran 9 miles with some serious pick ups from minutes 40-60. held a 7 min tempo the last 3 miles too.

16 minutes elliptical hell. Oh heavens, it's so boring compared to running and getting a rush of endorphins. Ah well.

12-12-12   Ran 12 miles! Denny Thorne, Run13 race director asked on Facebook last night if anybody was doing anything whacky for 12-12-12  .So I decided I would run 12 miles today.

This was hard and hurt the last 3-4 more miles BAD. I did a ladder speed workout from miles 3.5-7.5  3-3-2-2-2-1-1-1  Legs were hammered and somehow I carried on and ran until I hit the 12 mile cut off. My legs were like spaghetti the last 3 miles so those were 7:53 pace. Overall run time was 1:23

Strength trained for about 25 minutes. Randomn things. Zombie mode. Sleep walking I swear.

Ran 8 miles and my left knee was buggin a little. I did about 6 half mile repeats at a 6:30 pace

16 minutes eliptical.

Say, if it's going to look like grey depressing hell outside, the least it could do is snow down this way. sheesh

Left knee hurt a bit off and on after running yesterday. So last night I made the decision to elliptical today. So that's what I did.

1 hr 17 minutes of that. Shoot me! :)

Ran 7 miles in my new Brooks purecadence shoes. They felt really good. I struggled with some lack of pep during some of my pick ups this morning. But maybe its due to that fact that I was up wrapping Christmas presents last night until 11:20. I woke at 4:45 (insert cuss word). I will finish wrapping over the next few nights. I can't run into a catastrophe like  last year. I left all the wrapping to 1 night (the day before Christmas eve. I was up until 1 am so tired, my eyes looked blazed. Halfway through the wrapping I started to cry because I was THAT tired. haha!

Ran 8 miles. Fast pick ups the last 20 minutes. That seems to be my norm lately. I better be careful.

This morning I wanted to test my speed outside running 200's. I believe I'm on track where I want to be in my training for Boston. hit anywhere between 40-43 seconds per 200m.  I feel stronger which makes me happy.

Christmas Day: I didn't even care to run. I did put my Sorel boots on and take a very cold, but bright and sunny walk up the river trail with my 2 youngest kids.

8 miles face paced. (finished in 58:28.  I think I officially have my speed nearly %100 back. (after the lower leg injuries. So no need to push speed to often anymore. It will stay there. Time to start Boston training and begin to add more daily mileage/Saturday long runs.
