| | A couple of years ago I told my Dad how I wanted to run from Oak Grove to St. George. He didn't like the idea and thought it would be too hard. Well today was the day we tried it out! We drove a couple miles up the Oak Grove road because we knew that time was working against us. We started right around 6. I was pretty optimistic for the first 7ish miles then the climbs kept coming. I didn't expect to have that much climbing. Miles 8-10.5 were the worst. By the time we started getting some rolling hills my legs were already hammered. I endured and made it to the pavement on the turkey farm road. I think if we had more daylight I would have tacked on more mileage. So maybe not the full distance I once envisioned but still a really good workout. 19.25 miles

| | AM- Shake out run! Bloomington Loop with Manzanita addition. Almost had some people traffic jams on the loop. I understand why people are out and about. Just different seeing people in places I used to run alone. 4.05 miles
PM- Got out late and ran in the cool air. I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I started the run so that put a damper on a relaxed night run. 8.04 miles

| | Coasted to a new record of 81.58 miles! Beating my 2015 best of 80.15 miles. Since all my races and track kid's races got cancelled I had to create my own conquests. Now to keeping it consistent. 8.59 miles
side note: I made a deal with myself that if I got a new mileage record then I would end my soda lent early. Baja Blast Baby!

| | AM- Got out a littler earlier today! Parked at the very south end of River Rd. Ran about a mile up the road and did the biotic trail. Mixed in the rest of the trails at White Dome then another mile loop on Biotic and back to the car. Those trails are the soft I need right now. 8.11 miles
PM- Just me and the moon for 4 miles in the cool night. I am enjoying the leisure of running whenever I want. However, I miss the consistent running schedule with the kids at PV. 4.03 miles

| | Parked my car right where the dirt starts on Turkey Farm road. I was determined to run up to the Broken Mesa trailhead. In the first mile my left knee was hurting pretty good. I debated turning around early but decided to carry on. I ran by the Yellow Knolls trailhead and saw 11 cars. 11 cars? I don't even think that is a very cool trail but it is getting a lot of attention. After 5.5 miles of decent pain I arrived at the Broken Mesa TH and made a decision to hike for a little bit to rest the knee. Once I got to the top I just took it easy and the more time I spent running the less pain I felt in my knee. I'm not sure how it happened but I was thankful things worked out. Broken Mesa was awesome, running the Powerline back to the car was my least favorite part. I am loving the speedgoats! 14.01 miles

| | AM- Mayors Loop with Derek and George. Then Derek and I extended with Aaron as he finished his run. My knee started out hurting but got better as the run went on. So maybe the trick is to get a couple of miles behind me then I won't be in pain. 6.75 miles
PM- Easy 2 in the fresh night air. 2.33 miles

| | AM- Drove out to exit 27 Black Ridge rd. I found a single track trail and ran that for 4.25 miles. I really enjoyed it! It probably connects to the single track I ran a couple of weeks back from exit 2. I did a negative split on the way back. It was more uphill and I had a headwind and dropped 2 minutes. 8.51 miles
PM- Went and explored around Gunlock looking for petroglyphs with Marieta, George, and Star. It was a lot of fun and we were successful in our goal. 3.67 miles

PM- Weights in the afternoon. I wanted to get out for a second run but actually got caught up doing some school work. I am trying to be more creative for my students and make some videos and what not.

I enjoyed the run in the desert. I got some weird jolting pains into my right knee. It would come and go every couple of minutes. 10.02 miles

PM- Late night run on the Bloomington Loop with Manzanita extension. My turnover is better in the dark because I am worried about foreign objects forcing my legs off the ground faster. Felt pretty smooth throughout. 4.16 miles

PM- Started at 9:30pm and explored out by Sunriver. Ran into 3 cop cars either helping a dude on a bike or arresting him. Milked more mileage around random Bloomington neighborhoods. I felt much better this week. Less pain is always better. I think Utah Valley Marathon is happening so I want to get some good mileage throughout May. 8.26 miles

| | I ran over to the Dixie Center to meet up with Steve and Aaron. All I knew was we were going to do some fiesta fun 200s. I didn't know we were going to run 5 miles before we even got there. The warm-up pace was faster than I usually run. The 200s were tiring but I enjoyed the push. I did 8 of them with Steve. Then back to Dixie Center and on home. 12.53 miles
