Personal:

I retired from the Army after 26 years of service in 2010.  I moved home to Arizona.  My wife and I are empty nesters.  In 2016 I had stents placed in my heart after discovering coronary artery disease.  Since early 2016 I have lost 30 lbs and got in much better shape.  August 2017 I retired again. We served a mission to Mexico from October 2017 until April 2019.

total time 56:00.  I ran with Andrew.  talked half the way adn then I was beat.  short mileage the alst 2 weeks really set me back compared to this distance on 8 aand 15 march.  splits 9:20, 9:20, 9:12, 9:16, 9:17, 9:35.  Andrew left me in the dust on the last mile.

total running time 35:53.  after 7 minutes warm-up, I ran 2 hard and 2 easy for 6 reps.  then at 32 minutes I went hard for 1 minute and at 34 minutes I went hard until the end.  splits 8:53, 8:36, 9:01, 9:23.  my 6th hard session wasn't very fast in reality.
