After a looooonnnng shift last night, no down time, I could only sleep 3 1/2 hours, so got up, vacuumed and cleaned a toilet, folded laundry. No run. If it were cool and NOT hazy I might have been tempted. Hope to do a speed TM run tomorrow. Finally got over my soreness from my big fall. Arms, shoulders and neck were very sore. I am still getting a little dizzy when I turn my neck to the left. It is not as bad as Sunday so I guess I am on the mend. Sciatica improving, that waxes and wanes unpredictably.

Time for bed after this workout.....slept eleven hours and still felt "drugged" when I started out on my run to Kim's house for the dreaded TM workout at 910am. Ran 2.35 in 20:22 (8:42) miles there. Got on treadmill and eased into marathon pace over one mile--so a warmup. At 8.5 miles per hour it was 7:03 (1 percent incline), plan was to do 7 miles. Kept it there for just under three when I went up to 8.6 mph for a 6:58 pace. Did that for a mile (miles 3 to 4) then increased to 8.7 mph (6:49) for 1 1/2 miles (4 to 5.5 miles). Then I put it to 6:40 for a bit then 6:35. Okay now I am getting tired. Hard to focus on the plug outlet on the wall. The TV is not up yet at Kim's so all that remains is this outlet to stare at. She left the new Ensign on the TM but my head bobs too much I couldn't read any of the sentences. It was ridiculous. How can some runners read on the TM? My form must be off. Last mile I gradually increased the pace each .25 miles, from 9.0, 9.1, 9.2, then 9.3? for the finish (whichever increments end at 6:15 pace, I already lost brain cells to remember). Ran a "cooldown" mile at 7:30 pace. Last 30 seconds at 8:15. Gulped down some water than ran home in 19:37 (8:22). That felt like slow motion after the TM running. I am done. Coma state coming on. Felt refreshed initially, now drained. Total mileage on TM 9.03. Total outside: 4.7. Overall total: 13.7.

Per Marion's conversion (12 minutes biking = 1 mile running). Road my bike all over the place at 130pm (when I finally got my brain to want to exercise) for 1:27:29. Quite enjoyed just going wherever. Some tough hills that I was like "hey this is my easy day, cool it already". But the downhill "no effort" from Cedar Hills to PG more than made up for it. Battling depression lately. I am pulled in too many directions. Looking for that light...at the end of the tunnel. But same old same old... I work the next 5 of 7 nights.

That in between shorter, long run. I sat on my steps (9:45am) just trying to be motivated. Started out with hubby. Slowed him way down, I just had to start way slow because I was completely unmotivated. First mile 9:48. Thought it was 10:30 so I guess that is good. Most uphill but didn't care regardless. Drug out another few miles at my turtle speed then just went how my body wanted. Troy left me at mile three to home one more mile for him. I was going long. Did a pace check at about mile 4.5 (just under 8? wooo, feeling glad about that). Kept going by feel. Last two miles I thought I was dragging so I did a pace check where I knew miles. First 7:43 then last mile a speedy 7:21. That felt easy. So average pace for those 13.31 miles was 8:25 (course tool). I took the road less traveled. You name it, I was running it today. Just turned this way and that thru AF. One whopping uphill on 700 north to the AF temple. I was like hey I just ran 11 miles of that kind of uphill last Saturday, no big deal (however minus smog and heat). Ran around temple then home. Didn't know mileage but time was getting to where I should have been over 12, my goal. Well I went over by 2+. Total mileage (.83 mile cooldown at 8:36 pace)= 14.14.

At 230pm after roughly 3 1/2 hours of sleep, AGAIN. I thought I should try and get out there. Well the cool breeze changed to a warm one so I wasn't feeling all that energetic about it after the first mile (9:03) so slowed on this long uphill and was physically and mentally just not into it. Ran to the canal thru the "secret passage" off of Canyon Rd just across from the road that leads to AF Temple. Stopped at two miles and just walked for 2.33 miles real slow (18 min/mile), eyes closed to just a crack breathing in and out dreaming my time away. Did not feel like I was ever a runner. Decided to be a walker. Got to 1100 north where it is one mile to my house and decided all right Julie try to be a runner again, so I ran in at 7:18. Sat on lawn in the shade just listening to oldies from the 70s (meatloaf). Stretched, thought about being more positive, like Smooth. Do I count my 2.33miles of walking?

What the warm weather is this? Sorry but rather have cool breezes not warm. So "out of this world of a feeling" starting this run but figure I only have less than 4 weeks so I got to get serious no matter what or I am going to fade at SGM so I poured it on after climbing 1100 north at quick (not quickest) pace to canal. First mile 8:14 then slowed due to 10 percent grade to average of 8:43 to canal (1.82 miles from home) ran north on canal to below Deerfield Elem. ran north past Deerfield and on to Cedar Hills trailway to my one and only water stop. I have been forgetting to take gu on these intense long workouts, totally parched when I got to the water. Poured some on myself and drank until just before I felt like my stomach couldn't take it (you know the feeling). Anyway took off at 6:56 pace to Lone Peak High school then flew home as best I could getting back on the canal (rockie here so slowed me, plus sun beaming on my face, couldn't find my hat this morning and it was 10am). Got off the canal just below Deerfield again (think figure eight) this time headed south towards my home in Pleasant Grove. Ran past Lincoln Academy to my 800 road, pace check 6:52. Picked it up for the last mile, soooooo parched. Passed a guy real dripping huge drops of sweat. He couldn't even wave at me so just flew by him. Came in at 6:30 mile. Ran cooldown of 1.17 miles at 8:20 pace, usually I run this slower but it really did feel slower. It is just that I was running a 6:30 that it felt like a cool down. Walked a bit to get heart rate down more. Average pace for the first 10.09 miles (7:39). I am fine with that with the steep uphill in parts and the searing heat. Bring it on SGM!!!!

Not doing well at all in the sleep department (broken record here). Applied for a dayshift position on the medical/surgical floor at AFH. I would certainly miss the babies, my true love, but my sanity comes first. I need to work dayshift!!! Night shift is spiraling me into a depression/mood disorder. Already been there done that as a teenager after half my family were killed in two separate car accidents (1982 dad, sister, 1985, brother). I don't want to go there again. Plus I am older, wiser, I can pull myself out of it easier. Back then the anxiety from it all caused major sleep deprivation, plus I was an overachiever, type A personality, didn't miss school even if sick, track team, field hockey, ski team push push push and then break break break......then I moved Utah to go to BYU, was baptized into the LDS church on campus, gained hope, started to run longer..... Why am I telling you all this story? Well I guess I thought I ought to let you know who I am where I came from etc....why I am the way I am. I am from New Hampshire. Born in Massachusettes. Currently have one sister who moved out here after me and is married with 7 kids. My mother still lives back east but is a travel nurse in Arizona in the winter. I see her twice a year. She takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Tough woman. Anyway...I have stories that would make your hair on your arms stick up...sometimes I think about them...it helps me realize how strong anyONE can be. We all have our battles...no one is immune....so GO FIGHT WIN!!!!!!

Ran to Kim's house 2.35 miles @8:02 pace). Lovin' the cooler weather minus the smoke-filled air : DDDD. Ran Kim's worksheet speed workout on the TM. Faster paces feeling easier and easier. Ran 3 X 2000 (1.25 miles) with 1 lap recovery(.25 miles after each one): Started like this: 1 mile warm up on TM at 8:00 to 8:34 pace (1% incline). Interval 1: 9.2mph (6:35 x 1000 increased to 6:31x1000, 9.3mph). Recover at 6.7mph (8:54)x 1 lap.. Felt so cloud like here at this pace. Sweating like I was in Haites. Fan on but tipping back. Window open. Door closed. Interval 2: 9.3 mph (6:31pace x 1000 then 9.4 x 1000 for 6:27 pace). Recovery at 6.7 mph x 1 lap. Had to pick up the pace, good sign, hitting the top of treadmill with feet. Interval 3: 9.4 mph x 1600, didn't want to overdo it, but did pick it up for last lap (400m) to 9.5mph- 6:22. Cool down at 7.1 to 7.4 mph (8:15? to 8:27?) for 1 mile (Total TM miles 6.5). Workout felt controlled and quite exhilarating, detoxifying. Lots of dripping sweat, Kim came in right after I finished my last one. She was at the gym. She was like "wow, it is HOT in here". Didn't notice. Hope this plays well for dry desert heat of the SGM. I am sure it will be hot this year. Ran home a little slower than warmup here at 8:13. Felt really easy. Work tonight, 12 inductions scheduled. All the mommies want their babies born on 9/9/09. Half of those will be 9/10/09. Sorry mommies. Some inductions take a while : ((.

Very nice run with Josse and Melanie. Troy drove us up to Deer Creek Reservoir at 540am for a 6am start for our 18 miler. Melanie stayed a few paces in front of us. Josse and I hung back and "strolled" our first miles, at least from all my speedwork this week it seemed that way. I was happy to find that our pace after the first mile of 8:24 stayed under 8s the rest of the miles. We stopped briefly at the usual water/potty spots down that canyon. Josse knows a lot of runners but we only had to stop, of course, when we spotted her mother on the trail. That's when Melanie pulled further ahead. She waited for us at the mouth of the canyon. Thanks Mel!!! The canyon was so beautiful, the cool air, the changing leaves, the mountainsides. This course only drops 700 feet. With a nice hill up out of the canyon on 800 north (short though : D). We then went thru the Foothill Elem. neighborhood to the canal trail. About six miles on the trail, so harder to keep marathon pace plus 30 seconds (7:30 goal for me). We stayed up with Melanie, she started to tone it done, thankfully. Ran on the trail until 1100 north then ran down 1100 to the light (by Grovecrest Elem) turned left then left again into Grovecrest Elem parking lot where we added on a loop. Staying up with Melanie was my goal for the last few miles. Felt strong but glad downhill came when it did. So ready to be done. Lower back/sciatic bugging me but ended up going numb-like so muscles in back and upper quads felt really tight. No other major pains. Needed more water less things with sugar. We then cruised up the hill in Melanie's car to the top of 1100 north where there is the Grove Creek stream. We did a 6 minute ice bath. Melanie and Josse both verified that this creek is a lot colder than the ones they were soaking in. Run off from Mt Timp.? 10 minutes is too long in that water. Refreshing though. 1/2 way thru Amber's (6 year old) soccer game at 10am got a splitting migraine (I feel your pain now Josse). Hydrated more and took some ibuprofen. Still there but getting better. Two more soccer games to go this afternoon. Watch splits, some are averages because I wasn't always hitting my split button with Josse's or Mel's garmins (you can tell by the duplicates): 8:24/ 7:48/ 7:48/ 7:46/ 7:54 (water)/ 7:25/ 7:28/ 7:17/ 7:13/ 7:30/ 7:31/ 7:31/ 7:31/ 7:28 /7:28/ 7:15/ 7:37/ 7:07 0.2 in 84 seconds (7:00 pace). 2hrs 17 minutes 33 seconds, Average pace= 7:33.

| Just one of those twilight zone runs. I was going to do a 5x7:05 pace TM run after good warmup then a good cool down so called Kim at 810am. She said "hey why don't you come with me, my husband has the day off and is driving me up AF canyon 8 miles". Of course I dropped everything and hurried over there. We began our run at mile marker 12 up AF canyon before the fork in the road a ways. We took off at what felt extremely easy 7:17 for the first mile (we were trying to go slow, a warm up, then do 5 to 6 at 6:30). We quickly were able to pick it up to 6:30s no problem. Tried a caffeine gu (I don't even think it is that much, have to look it up) just before taking off, never again. My heartrate soared on the major uphill out of the canyon at mile 5. I have always had this problem with caffeine, plus I took it on an empty stomach, so I don't know why I did that. Just thought I would see. Wouldn't want to take that at SGM unless after Veyo where the downhill doesn't affect your heart. Here are our splits: 1: warmup 7:17 2: 6:27 3: 6:26 4: 6:30 5: 6:54 (huge incline, we were booking it, Kim did her's at 6:50) 6: 6:23 7: 6:17 8: cooldown 7:24 (this actually felt ridiculously easy, even slow) 9: 8:10 (This felt like we were running in slow motion and there was a good hill up to Kim's house). We were really happy with this run. Especially for me since I just ran 18 on Saturday at 7:33 pace. So getting excited, hoping this is a good sign. Kim felt way awesome too. We are getting in the zone. Got to work tonight so that puts a damper on things but I see the light. SGM is not far off now. I can hold on for these next few weeks.

Night shift recovery day. As I left work at 630am I felt a twinge in my left calf. That twinge turned in to some major sciatica/shin splint issues with my left leg only. That's what happens when you try for the third time to use those new sneakers you are not sure you like or not. They started to feel comfortable so I tried them yesterday. My old ones have holes on the top and major tread wear. Worn in two marathons and one 32 miler and for over 1500 miles. Scary huh?

Oh give me strength!!! This was one of those "I don't think so runs" but I gave it the best I could. I was still tired from lack of sleep but I told myself "just do it". So I ran my usual route to Kim's house (2.35 mi). Warmed up a mile on the TM and gradually got it to a 7:53 mile. Now the big stuff: 6 ( but did 7) by 880 (that's how Kim's TM is set up). I didn't know what mph was for a 3:05 so first put it at 10mph and worked my way down to a 6:11 pace which ended up being 9.7 mph. Ran this 7 times with a 1:30 rest interval which I was true to, I would wait for the TM to really be at the pace I needed then start the time to 3:05 then crank it down to 6 mph (10:00 pace) cause I was winded. I think due to the fatigue. My HR was higher even on the warmup run to Kim's. My left leg was in such pain that I just had to focus. Mostly the left leg shinsplint from the downhill run Monday with new shoes. Stupid, I know. Went home unloaded dishes, ate then went up to the river and iced times 5 minutes. HR even now seems unusually pounding like. Probably hormonal. Just before I left for my run I was suddenly freezing to death and actually had to blast the heat in my car while I drove my kids to school. I was shivering as I took off. Then when I got into Kim's TM room and did the workout I sweated so much I thought I pee-d my pants cause I was dripping sweat from my shorts in the back. But then I felt my back and it too was dripping. I must have been out of my zone for sure today. I was fatigued going into this workout, what could I expect? Ran a 3.49 mile cooldown. Made it longer cause HR too high after the 2.35. Recovery day tomorrow. MP run Friday then my 5 of 7 nights one more time before SGM. Goodness Gracious!!! There is light!!

Ran slow. Feeling achy, slight sniffly, flu-like. First mile 9:05. Avg pace 8:46 for 5.45 total recovery miles. Kim had a bad cold on Monday when I ran with her then it got worse when I went to her house to use her TM but she wasn't there. Figure I might as well get it now BEFORE the SGM not two days before. Not that I am asking for it just not going to hide from it. Think I won't get the full blown thing, crossing fingers. When I got home my oldest daughter woke with a sore throat and draining nose. Double whammy. Tomorrow's run should be interesting strength-wise.

Kim met me and my dear faithful and sleepy husband at my house at 435am. We drove to Riverwoods and left Kim's car there then Troy drove us to the start of the Provo River Half Marathon for a 510am start. Kim had a head lamp, I had a tiny flashlight. It was PITCH BLACK for the first four miles. Very Halloween-like. The cows moo-ing sounded like those in the movie Cars. I think they were tipping as we sped past them. It was difficult to keep pace at first in the dark and cold. Perception was off obviously. I always run slower in the dark. Our plan was to run MP average for the whole half. We stopped at the Vivian park potty for one to two minutes. Very strong smell of cologne in the women's bathroom. Odd. Not good for me of course so b-lined it out of there and started our flatter part of the course to the big uphill at mile 6.3 to 7.5 turn around. Gross. Headwind was intense and it was still very dark. Shadows were playing tricks on us. We had our headphones on at this point as we weren't as scared as up South Fork. It took the edge off. We didn't talk much here cause we couldn't hear each other. We eventually passed two runners and two bikers. We picked up the pace after the turn around and were happy to get under 7s for 6 of the 13 miles. It was tough for me as three intense workouts in one week is a little much but it is all in the name of SGM PR. Time will tell. Will be taking it down a notch next week and even more the next. Here are our splits: 1: 7:12 2: 7:15 3: 7:10 4: 7:05 5: 7:10 6: 6:47 7: 7:24 Major uphill!!!! Head wind. We pushed hard. This mile is out in the open and not on the trail so the wind is felt much greater.
8: 7:27 Major uphill for half of this. Legs vacationing at the turn around so pace slower. 9: 6:54 Time to pick it up so we did. 10: 6:38 Little too early of a surge. Must slow it down. Still dark.
11: 6:53 12: 6:57 Hey I think Kim can turn off her headlamp. I see a glimmer of daylight.
13: 6:49 13.1 @ 6:41 pace. Wow we did it and the world still looks asleep. Hopped in the car and made it home by 7:10am. Average pace: 7:02.4. Yee Haw. Now to go, go, go the rest of day before my big 5 of 7. I will try to pencil in a nap around 1pm. And a blizzard of course.

Started with Troy for a warm-up. First mile 8:48. Troy picking it up but breathing hard. I am like slow down. Take it easier on yourself. He doesn't run consistently, but at least he does go out from time to time. We parted at 2.5 miles as I went up to Kim's to do a short TM workout. Total miles there (3.3 @ 8:26). TM warm up at 7.5mph (8 pace) x 1 mile then over 1/2 mile picked up the pace to 7:24, so 1 1/2 mile warmup then 3 miles at 10K pace which I put as 6:45, who really knows. Without resting in between, because this is a tempo workout this is what I did: 1 x 6:49, 1x 6:44, 1x 6:40 picking it up the last .25 of the last mile to 6:22. Ran cooldown on TM first at 8mph (7:30 pace) x 1/2 mile then 7.5mph (8:00 pace) x 2 miles. Ran home the same route I came so another 3.3 miles (7:54 pace). But because Chariots of Fire came on my iPod (I just put it on there last week), I replayed it like 5 times and my pace picked up so I didn't really cool down this last part as much as I like to, so I added on another 1.14 miles at 8:46 pace. Grand total 14.74 miles @ 7:54. PPS I felt fine at that pace on the TM except for a really bad backache that was pulling on my hamstrings. No rest for the weary. Got to work tonight. I am not seeing a taper here. I will have to cold turkey it next week :DDDDD. Night shifts are like still running and running and running. LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT, I SEE IT.

Nothing. Night shift recovery. Only three more nights I have to work before the SGM. Lack of sleep as usual is making my nervous system spazz out. Going easy tomorrow. Muscles need to relax longer.

Feeling yucky. I just don't do well with the night shifts. All my nerves are on fire. Sensitive that is. Food doesn't look good either. But managed to feel happy eating a "organic" poptart from Costco. It brought me back in time to when I was 14 and my friend Andrea ate lots of poptarts (non-organic) and peanut butter and fluff sandwiches. I lived in New Hampshire then. We biked everywhere. To the beach, to work, to her house, to mine, through town. The kind of town where there is a big Ben like clock in the middle of it with a train station and an Ice Cream shop on the lakeside. Oh how free we thought we were, roaming this way and that all summer long. Okay back to the present. Feeling lots of lower back pain, like an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being back labor pain. No kidding. Yesterday was worse. I told Troy to take it slow with me and he ran with me nearly 3 miles and headed home and I did my planned run nice and easy. First mile 9:04. Went uphill to Cedar Ridge Elem via the Cedar Hills trail and nice roadsides. Came down farm road and still no desire to pick up pace. Blah. Okay by the last mile I decided to check myself and pick it up already. Okay that is fine, last mile 6:19 (first 1/2- 3:16, second 1/2 3:03, felt happy about that as it didn't feel too bad). Avg pace for 8.02 miles = 8:40. Cool down for .55 miles. Really need to rest my muscles in normal sleep, but that can't happen until Friday or Saturday night. Luckily my job involves newborns. I so love newborns!!!

Go figure, not sleeping. Went to bed at 7am and awoke at 9am. That is after taking a soma in desperation. Didn't even touch me. My circadium rhythm is all messed up. I can't believe I work tonight too. Tried sleeping the rest of the day. But had to get up at three to see kids, help with piano, be a mom. Tried again at 5pm but nothing. Went to work totally buzzed wondering if I am going to die early from the stress I am putting on myself. My nerve hurt all over from lack of rejuvenation and my allergies to chemicals are worse without sleep. I just pray for good sleep come this weekend. My left leg- hip to foot is in alot of radiating nerve pain. I know if I slept it would go away. I see the chiropracter monday. No running during survival mode. Insomnia does not become me. I am trying to be optimistic but truth be told I am in a lot of pain. How do vampires go without sleeping : D?

Woke after three hours of sleep. Didn't take a soma cause apparently it doesn't help. Layed there for another hour. Pain in leg/hip/foot is up there on the charts. Totally nerve pain but makes the calf muscle feel numbish. Had Troy do the "hurt so good massage". For some reason pressure on the nerves helps the pain. Currently have a frozen rice bag on my lower back. While at work I was so tired that all my nerves were tingling, my face, arms etc... I just held on and thought SGM should be much much much more easier than these past few night shifts. Here is an "ALL STARS ALIGNED" goal for me for SGM. It just came to me last week. Pretty lofty but who knows... At mile 25.2 (one mile to go) I want to see the clock at 2:59:59 or less. Yikes did I just write that? If I do I think I will stop for a photo shoot (not!). I could still do a 9:59 last mile and be under 3:10. This is wishful thinking, hence the star analogy. "Twinkle, Twinkle little star"...."if I could have this wish tonight". Currently having brief thoughts of going on a very short extremely slow run this afternoon. Let it be :D

SCARY STORY TO FOLLOW. First, words can't explain the extent of the sleep deprivation...I don't suggest ever following my schedule...I awoke to the same old nerve pain. Took a neurontin last night(antiseizure med that works also on nerve pain), my presription I don't like taking cause it makes me loopy. It only eased my brain and not my nerves. Anyway, I couldn't sleep after sleeping a whopping 6 hours, Hooray!!! So, knowing I had to pick up Kim at 540am for our last run together with Melanie in Lehi I decided to get up at 5 am. SCARY HAPPENINGS AT MY HOUSE THIS AM: DETAILS-- I got dressed came down stairs about 515am. I originally had a brighter light on as I grabbed my sneakers but turned it off and just had the dim light on in the kitchen so as to stay in quiet state. Suddenly I hear rattling. My first thought is that "why does it sound like Cookie (my hampster) is back in her cage running on the wheel?" She escaped in March and her cage is put away, so unlikely she is still roaming around. The wind? I looked out my back window. I certainly don't want to run in a wind storm. No wind. Trees don't even show a slight breeze. So I turn the corner from my kitchen to my front hall and can view my front door. The dead bolt is rattling back and forth as if someone is trying to open it. FREAK OUT moment. I turn on the bright hall light that lights up in hall by the front door and the door stops rattling. Yikes. I quickly, but quietly run up the stairs and whisper loudly, still thinking I am hallucinating or something " Troy!!! someone is breaking into our house" He quickly came downstairs. The dead bolt lock was almost opened. We locked all our doors, three to be exact. Troy went in the garage and our door (not the garage door for the cars), but the back door was wide open. Our middle console to are car was also open and things taken out of it and placed on the seat. Keys were missing. Still missing. Troy looked for anything in the garage missing. Nope. Called the police and they arrived within minutes. I was shaking like a leaf but after telling the police my story, Troy escorted me into the car and watched me nervously drive away to meet Kim 15 minutes late. My teeth were chattering but I couldn't feel the cold. I was so shaken. If I were just two minutes later getting down the stairs he would have been in my house. What would I have met up with? Words can't explain. I can't believe this happened. The police told us they incarcerated a guy who broke in and assaulted a woman while she was sleeping, just a few hours before this. She didn't know the guy. This happened in PG. He said, "just because we are in Happy Valley doesn't mean things like this can't happen. So not right. So violating. More on my run later. 8.56 miles at 7:37 pace. This was easy for us. But I was still freaked out and my hip/foot was ailing. Still need good sleep. Splits for our easy run: 8:23, 7:47, 7:35, 7:29, 7:52 (potty), 7:05, 7:33, 7:37 and 7:25 for last .56 miles.

Saturday was completely filled up with three soccer games and a home BYU football game. No resting when I definitely neeeded it. So of course today, Sunday, I am completely exhausted. The near-breakin yesterday am has me on edge and zapped the rest of the adrenaline from me. My face is numb and tingling and my limbs are all weak. This has been happening for years to me. Especially after breathing in perfumes. I think I have an adrenal gland fatigue problem. Whenever I stress my body, running or an intruder the symptoms are more severe. It is like I have to pocketbook my adrenaline for race day or I won't have any, no matter the training, come race day. So REST REST REST is the theme this week with perhaps 3 to 4 x 400m sprints at 5K pace. Not sure yet. I slept a long time last night in blocks of three hours and still feel extremely fatigued. At night I am getting very anxious. I wanted to come down to get some ibuprofen and some water but I froze in my tracks looking at my deadbolt. I am sure I will get over this and feel more free soon. I hate this paralyzation of the unknown. Any suggestions on how to restore the adrenals? I have read up on some supplements. Not sure they work.
PS: My bishop in church today encouraged everyone to watch conference rather than just TIVO later. I shared my experience from yesterday with some scripture references to "thieves in the night" and being ready for the second coming in testimony meeting. I shook like a leaf. Anyway, I told the bishop I knew there was a reason I stepped up my time frame for SGM to 3:10 (so I could have 5 minutes to get back to my hotel to watch General Conference, I guess I should just listen around to those listening to it by radio). No worries for the rest of you, your bishops didn't make you the challenge : D.

Begged Troy, not really, to run an easy 6 with me. We ran a nice loop that included a long uphill, nice and easy. First mile 9:10. Last mile 8:00. Average pace for 6.34 @ 8:50 pace. Still feel very exhausted. Went to Mel's chiropracter. Saw him last year same week. He really worked the hip with ultrasound and some vibrating machine, stretched the psaos muscle etc... then adjusted me. Supposed to go back on Wednesday. Came home relaxed at first then drained. Tried to take a nap. Lasted briefly, 30 minutes. The countdown begins. I plan on running a "25.2 miler" this Saturday. Anything I can do to get to the 25.2 mile marker (maybe I will just say the 25 mile marker) to see the clock at 2:59:59. Of course all goals go out the window if rainstorms and pelting winds are involved. Or lack of personal drive after mile 20. My plan is to have that drive. Clock is ticking.....

Ran an even breezier pace today then yesterday. Troy is fatigued and I don't care to push it. First mile 9:30. Ran a loop that included the American Fork High School Track. Troy was unaware of our lay over, but hey he got to rest and time me. 1st lap with a "tailbreeze" @ 82 seconds!!! Hello!! That would be a tough margin to keep up at without going all out so the second, having a "headbreeze" I came in at 84 seconds. The END. Ran home for a total of 5.1. Pace a breezy 9:02. Did anyone hear the forecast last night for the SGM? 83 degrees and BREEZY in all caps. Hence the overuse of BREEZE * in my log today. * Breeze- a light sustained wind.

I feel the need, the need for NO RUNNING OR EVEN LEAVING MY HOUSE AGAIN today. I think this weather is casting a spell on me. I so am not wanting to revisit that memory. I think I will watch Anne of Green Gables all day and put up Halloween Decorations after I have a long warm bath. Oh and carb load of course, but I am not interested much in food. How can that be? I had enough excitement being the carpool driver for my daughter and her four friends and the gas meter reading "0". Got literally 10 feet from the gas pumps after stalling out three times on the way there. Got pushed into place by two nice young men. How embarrassing as I was in my pajama bottoms with a running shirt. See how cold weather even zaps the last of the fuel out of your car? Usually if it hits zero while driving we have more time. I better pay heed to this warning and FUEL up even if I am not hungry.
