Russian champion tries Crocs, commits to racing a marathon in them

Nikolay Chavkin in the video below did 3x1000, first two in Adidas carbon-fiber models, the last one in Crocs. Surprised by the result (2:52, 2:52, 2:50) with the fastest interval done in Crocs, he committed to racing a marathon in Crocs if the video gets 42K likes and 195 comments (for 42 km 195 m, the marathon distance). Nikolay's current marathon PR is 2:14:00. The video was created by a Russian sporting goods store chain. Their moto is "more sports - brighter life", which we think is wonderful, and also deserves a Like. If you want to see a fast marathon in Crocs, go to the video and click the Like button. Ran some speed work with the boys (well I tried). I shortened some of the 3 minute intervals so I could focus on different people and actually run their pace. I did about 1:15 with Trey and once we hit the rock hill it was over. My right knee seemed a little tweaked on the hill. 7.18 miles

Exit 13 trails into twilight tunnel and up to Highland Park. Had some fun with the girls. Then on the way back I asked Kate what time she had, knowing she was trying to run 50 minutes. She said 46 so I told her she better get moving. We definitely had more than 4 minutes worth of running left. We went zoomin down the trails and hit a low 6 minute mile pace. Finished with 52 minutes. Ran easy 3 with George around Tonaquint. 8.84 miles

Up Ice House for a little bit before running back for the team heading up Mustang. Ran slow so I couldn't keep up with the boys. The girls caught me and I was content to run with them. We made the full loop and I had my back spasms on some of the steep hills. 6.29 miles
