It's a new month!  I am so happy it is May.  That means 18 days left of work!  I went to the gym this morning and will be heading back this afternoon.  20 minutes elliptical, 20 minutes spinning, 10 minutes elliptical.

There is a 5k tomorrow here in Vernal that I really wanted to kick some bootie, but I might hold off because of the leg.  Hopefully by tomorrow it will be ready to go.

5 miles around track.  I can still feel a little pain.

I went back to the gym.  1 hour on the weights and 2 miles around the track.  I think that I need to stop pushing my leg so much...

Woke up with pain shooting in my left leg.  This thing is more than I thought, I am going to FORCE myself to not run.

Went to the gym, 1 hour spinning class, .35 mile swim.  The swim made my leg feel better. 

I am really frustrated with this injury in my left hip flexor.  Thank heavens I don't have any races planned in the near future. 

30 minutes of upper body strengthening.

I slept in. 

Yesterday I was invited to speak to the Uintah High School track team about my Boston experience.  The team is heading to region, so they wanted an inspirational story.  I told my "running" story and they were all so excited about it.  After I talked to them I had several kids tell me they wanted to do a marathon someday, and some already had!  The energy from these young runners was exquisite!  Sometimes it's exciting to meet young, fresh runners that are so dang excited about the sport.

I'm beginning to wonder if I have a stress fracture.  I have not ran since Monday and the subtle pain in my upper left thigh is not subsiding.  I have started taking recovery supplements and I will give running another try on Monday.  If the pain is still there I will be going to the Doctor.  Lame.  My biggest frustration is that it is beautiful outside and I am stuck inside the gym Xtraining. 

Today I did 55 minutes spinning and 15 minutes on the eliptical.  I am getting my heart rate to about 165-170, but I fee like I am loosing my fitness level as well.

My workout was pain free!  Pain is only there when I force pressure on my leg.

Pain is still there in the left femur area.  I am going to a specialist today to check out what might be the problem.  I just want this thing to heal, and I am going to live to what the doc tells me to do by the "T."

So yesterday wasn't the best of days.  First I went to the specialist.  They took an Xray, and they did not find anything.  They want me to do a bone scam test.  My leg is feeling so much better already, so I am going to give it time.  I'm going to continue to Xtrain until I feel 100% ready to do small mileage increments. 

I did not make it into the St. George marathon.  I am pretty bumbed about it.  I really wanted to use that race a PR course.  Hmmmm, I'm a little frustrated with that race.  Last year I didn't make it into the lottery either, but somehow I found a way to run it... I don't think I will be as lucky this year.  Back to TOU?  ew. 

Today I spent an hour in the weight room strengthening my upper body.  I will go back later to spin! 

So I was looking on the SGM website at the charity programs.  For only $750 I can run the dang thing!  Yeah right.  Like I have that kind of money.

1 hour spinning class.  Man, spinning is my new "thing."  I might be in the process of being converted from running.  No, that would never happen.

I am looking for a road bike. If anyone can help me find a nice, used bike, let me know!

30 minutes weight training.

This morninig in the weight room there was only this guy and myself.  We were sitting by each other lifting, and he kept making the strangest grumbling noises.  It sounded like he was in pain.  I tried to ignore him and just go on with my workout.  Then he was like, "Aw, my leg has a cramp!"  I didn't know what to do, so I just looked at him and smiled.  When I was leaving the weight room he proceeded to tell me good job for my efforts.  Guys on weights are strange.

I woke up really early this morning and decided I would dedicate a big workout to those running the Ogden Marathon.  I am a little upset that there is no way I will be able to run by next week.  My leg still needs time.

1 hour spinning class

50 minutes moderate effort on elliptical

20 minutes core workout out

33 laps in the pool.  I decided I would do 26 laps continually without stopping (one lap representing 1 mile of the marathon).  I continued onto 33 laps without stopping because I felt so good. .50 swimming was less than 30 minutes. 

I hope everyone had a good race today.  Weather was really warm, I hope no one died like I did last year.

My leg is tight when I try to run on it.  I am still really nervous to put any forced pressure on it.  It feels like it is taking FOREVER to heal. 

Went bakc to the gym for an hour spinning class.

I did 3 miles in Duchesne.  So easy.  I think that my biking is making up for the fitness I'm loosing running.  My leg feels weak.

So I was just going to take my leg for another "test drive" since it felt okay after Saturday.  Again, the run was easy.  My X training is really paying off.  My fitness level wanted to be pushed more, but the leg...no siree!  I took all of my miles at an easy pace.  I don't think I will try running again for another week.  BLAH!  (The femur does not hurt, but it feels WEAK, is this normal?)

Got on the bike for 50 minutes.  That bike about KILLS me over...I LOVE it!  I really want to find a bike to purchase so I can enjoy the outdoors and actually go somewhere.
