Run a sub 3:20 @ Air Force Marathon 2015.

Woke up with pain shooting in my left leg.  This thing is more than I thought, I am going to FORCE myself to not run.

Went to the gym, 1 hour spinning class, .35 mile swim.  The swim made my leg feel better. 

I am really frustrated with this injury in my left hip flexor.  Thank heavens I don't have any races planned in the near future. 

30 minutes of upper body strengthening.

You should try running in the pool at waist deep or get one of the bouyancy belts and run in the deep water like the old ladies do!? lol btw, what race is that photo taken? That is an awesome river shot behind you.

There is a current pool at my rec center where all of the old ladies walk against the flow of the water, I will give it a try! Man, I am aging a lot faster than I thought.

I am so so so sorry to hear about your leg! That STINKS!!! Teena knows all about pain and being dedicated in rehabing after injuries. I hope it's nothing serious. Definitely no running until you find out what's wrong. Hey, at least you know how to Xtrain. If I get injured, I have to learn how to do all that stuff. Get better soon!

I am sure that you would put anyone to shame in the pool. 75 minutes of pool running? They should make that an event...you would win. Feel free to kick Walter's trash, he deserves it.

The pain is more like a stab feeling when I put weight on it. Sometimes when I sleep it feels like a shock feeling.

First off, you're pretty amazing for an "old" lady. Yeah, if I had as much energy as you I wouldn't know what to do with myself. You are not old! Thanks for the support. I'm trying to convince myself that time off of running is a good thing.

Bec - go see a physical therapist, they can help you with the problem. Its easy to just take time off and let it 'heal' but if its a problem that needs fixing, the PT can get it fixed faster and help you through the pain so it doesn't come back!!! Thats my two cents.... better safe than sorry. Hopefully there are some good PT's in Vernal, or close anyway.

I would RICE and take a couple of days off and then reasses. :)

(I'm barely learning how to deal with taking time off of running ... so I might not be the best person to ask.) :)

I will take your advice. It's hard for me to pull away when it feels good, even though it's not completely healed.
