So yesterday wasn't the best of days.  First I went to the specialist.  They took an Xray, and they did not find anything.  They want me to do a bone scam test.  My leg is feeling so much better already, so I am going to give it time.  I'm going to continue to Xtrain until I feel 100% ready to do small mileage increments.

I did not make it into the St. George marathon.  I am pretty bumbed about it.  I really wanted to use that race a PR course.  Hmmmm, I'm a little frustrated with that race.  Last year I didn't make it into the lottery either, but somehow I found a way to run it... I don't think I will be as lucky this year.  Back to TOU?  ew.

Today I spent an hour in the weight room strengthening my upper body.  I will go back later to spin!

So I was looking on the SGM website at the charity programs.  For only $750 I can run the dang thing!  Yeah right.  Like I have that kind of money.

Sorry about you not getting in to SG. Though ToU maybe be your 2nd choice its a good one. Either ones is a fun and has it challenges. Heal up and you will be great.

STINK! STINK! STINK! What's with the specialist. X-ray doesn't pick up stress fractures. Of course the bone scan is as good as the doctor who reads and interprets it. It's frustrating. Most fractures take a minimum of 6 weeks to heal. Be careful returning to running. Listen to your body.

What a bummer with the lottery. May be you can still get in the same way you got in last year? TOU is definitely a slower course than SGM. GOOD LUCK!

Oh bummer! I have a friend that bugs them every year and always gets in. Worth a try:)

I am laughing on your upper body weight strengthening. I am in the same boat so my upper body is nice and toned but my lower body is going to pot. Oh well, what to do:)

Huan,

I did TOU and SGM marathons last year. Though they were 2 weeks apart, my SGM time was faster by ten minutes! I know TOU is fun, but it's not SGM. I refer to SGM as "God's running course." (I am not kidding).

Smooth,

When they took the Xray, all I thought was, "dang, I am wasting my money, they will never see anthing on that." I was right. BUT they could see that about three years ago my bone under went a lot of trauma. I remember that trauma. Not being able to walk and forcing myself to dance on it.

Michelle,

Aren't upper body workouts the best. Hehe, I am with you on that one. Nice arms, stomach, flabby legs... Gotta love the Xtraining.

How in the world will I get into to SGM? I hate that stupid lottery.

Bec - At running group this morning they said that quite a few people got in not once, but like 3-5 times!! So, they are 'selling' their entries. I don't know exactly how or why this works, but it must. Anyway, someone said they saw Smooth's name 3 times so I wonder if she got the same thing. Maybe I'm completely off base and it doesn't mean what I think it does. However, its worth a shot :)

Sorry about the x-ray, but hopefully the fact that its already feeling better is good! Keep that upper body good to match your killer legs :)

RAD,

I think that was a computer gliche. A lot of my friends were in there 3 times. But if someone is really selling a spot, I am up to purchasing it!

Rachel, I'm pretty sure it was a mistake. I think it was fixed this morning. The bummer thing about buying an entry is that it isn't in your name if your trying to BQ or build up to the 10 year club.

From RAD on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 15:10:24 from 67.166.99.8

See, I don't know what I'm talking about :)

Well...maybe $750 would be worth it? You could start a new charity "help Bec get to SGM" Then you could raise enough money to make your charitable contribution and get in :)

From Bec on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 15:36:00 from 205.123.38.151

Yes RAD! Want to donate? I only $750 to go!

It's actually not a bad idea. hmmmm.

Sure makes Boston look like a bargain, doesn't it?

From Bec on Tue, May 12, 2009 at 17:13:09 from 205.123.38.151

Smooth,

Oh yes it does make Boston look like a bargain. Especially comparing the two races.

Sorry you still have no answers about the injury, that stinks. But maybe it will just heal up on its own??? You are still rockin' the workouts, though!

Sorry about SGM, too. Not many seemed to get in this year. It will be lonely!
