945am - overcast, intermittent rain heavy at times, nice cooling breezes, mid 70's

poor sleep again last night so i slept in and resigned myself to another treadmill run this afternoon but once i got things settled at work i saw that the weather was actually pleasant in spite of the late hour so i went for it and my optimism paid off.

5 miles - 8:43 avg - 'ster/'tist/'stview - after a couple of days off i felt better than i have in a while. this might be the first run all year where each mile is a sub 9 minute mile. the way things have been going the last couple of years i'll take this as a positive sign.

still enjoying a break from miles (like, for the last three years - lol!) but seriously, i've wrapped up a couple of minor projects for this summer and now have no excuse to not run consistently until ski season starts. i did go kayaking again last night which compelled me to run this morning as my legs get pretty cramped stuffed into a tiny whitewater kayak. still, i'll probably just run for fitness until i find some motivation for something more.
