I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004. Personal: I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again. |

AM- Today we did a lap around sugar house park, then we did a lap of fireman. Then we did some strides and about a mile cool down. I decided not to take any ibuprophen this morning to see how I was feeling. My shin hurt, and my hip hurt a little bit too. I think I'm out of alignment so I'm going to go to a chriopractor tomorrow. My shin seems to be staying the same so at least it's not getting worse. (Pegasus 159)
PM- Tonight I did a loop around the park and then a mile of speed changes. My hip was hurting so Demetrio rubbed it out. It was very tight. Hopefully after a few more massages it will feel better. (Pegasus 162) |

| Today we went for a run from sugar house park up to 1900 e. then along 1900 e. to Sunnyside Ave. Then down sunnyside ave. to 1500 e. and back to the park. Me and Susannah ran together. It was a good run. Our time was 41:31. We picked it up at the end a little so we could try to get our time to average 8's but we didn't pick it up soon enough. I went to the chiropractor today and am feeling much better. I also got a massage so that should help. (Pegasus 167) |

| Today we had an easy workout. We ran a loop around the park for a warm up then we did 4 strides, and 3 hills, and then we did a cooldown lap around the park. My time was 38:04. My legs felt good, but running downhill hurts my hip. (Pegasus 172) |

| Today I ran the Murray Fun Days 5k. I felt good before the race, I took some ibuprophen which I haven't been doing, and my legs felt good no pain. They were a little slugish. I jogged for about ten minutes for the warm-up. The race went ok. I ran a 20:56. I couldn't really open up though. My splits were 6:28, 6:51, 7:02, 35. I ran 45 seconds faster than last year so that was good. I think I just got comfortable and never pushed myself. After the race me, susannah, and kiley jogged about a mile and half cooldown. |

| Today me, Susannah, and Kiley did a long run. We were only going ten but I needed 11 so I did a mile before hand. Then I did some stretching, then we started from liberty park. We ran up 1300 s. to 800 e. Then we ran across 800 e. to South Temple. Then up South Temple to M St. Then up M St. to 3rd Ave. Then we ran across 3rd to the road that goes up Memory Grove. We ran up Memory grove and then to the gate at the mouth of City Creek. We stopped for some water and I took a gu, and then we ran back pretty much the same way but we ran along South Temple instead of 3rd Ave, and on 900 E. instead of 800 E. Our time was 1:37:11. It felt good, and we opened it up at the end. That's the first long run I've done in months so I was excited about that. My hip hurt a little bit but we went for massages after and I think that helped. (Pegasus 183) |

| Today we did a six mile loop. Me and Susannah and my dad ran together. We went North on 1500 e. from sugar house park to Sunny Side Ave. Then We ran down SunnySide Ave. to the street that goes behind East. We ran along that street to 900 S. Then we ran down 900 S. to 900 E. Then across 900 E. to 2100 S. and back up to the park. It was 6 miles. My time was 48:14 so about 8:00 pace. The run felt good, it definitely wasn't at a comfortable pace but it wasn't too hard. I've been feeling a little sick and my stomach was bothering me at the beginning of the run. My legs really started to feel it coming back up to the park. This week I'd like to hit 45 again. I'd like to make my easy miles at 8:00 pace from now on. Today my foot fell asleep for about two and a half miles of the run. This has happened a few times recently, and it's always my right foot. Does anyone know what could cause this? Also, I've been sleeping alot lately 12+ hours a day (and if I had time I could sleep longer). I think I might be anemic so I started taking an iron supplement, but I don't want to take too much iron. Does anyone else take iron and how much? (Pegasus 189) |

AM- We had a good run this morning. It was 5 miles from the park. My time was exactly 40:00 so 8:00 pace. 8:00 pace is still not comfortable for me, hopefully as I get in better shape it will be. Me and Susannah ran together. (Pegasus 194)
PM- I did a lap around the park and then 3 laps of speed changes and one lap slow. I decided not to do speed work because my leg was hurting a little bit. I sort of wish I would have but it's probably better I didn't. (Pegasus 197) |

| This morning our team went for a run that was 6.25 but I'm just going to call it six to keep it even. My time was 59:46, so really slow but we ran on a trail so that was probably why. We ran on Bonneville Shoreline Trail from the zoo to Red Butte and back. It was a good run my legs are a little sore, and my leg still hurts when I run downhill. (Pegasus 203) |

It was a good workout my legs started to feel it on a few of the repeats. I need to motivate myself to push harder though. (Pegasus 211) |

| Today was free slurpee day so for xc practice our team went on a slurpee run. Every 7-11 we ran past we had to stop and get a slurpee and drink the whole thing. The slurpee's were 7.11 ounces each. We stopped at 6 different 7-11's. We stopped at these ones: 200 S. 1300 E., 705 3rd Ave., 300 E. 100 S., 300 E 400 S., 800 S. 200 E., and 800 S. 1300 E. It was 7 miles long and was 1:02:06 of running time. It was a fun run but because of all the stopping didn't feel like that much running. By the end of the workout we had all drank 48 ounces of slurpee! (Pegasus 218) |

My time was 1:21:50, so about 8:10 pace. I was really happy with my time, my legs felt good and didn't really get tired, but I was breathing hard the whole time. Overall it was a good workout. AM- This morning we met at liberty park. Collin said he was coming but wasn't there and since he lived really close to the park we decided to jog to his house and wake him up. After that we started the workout. We were supposed to do 4 laps each lap getting 15 seconds faster. Me and Susannah ran together. The first lap was really slow, too slow. It was a 13:22. The next lap we had trouble only speeding up 15 seconds and our time was 12:55. Then we ran a 12:41. The last lap we just opened up and didn't worry about time. It felt really good and was an 11:25. The overall time for the workout was 54:54 for 6 and a half miles. So it was 8:26 pace which isn't too bad. Tonight we have speed work. So that should be good. My legs are a little tired but it feels good to be able to run without pain and push the pace a little bit. (Pegasus 245)
PM- Tonight I had the wasatch athletics workout. I got there a little late so I did the warm-up lap around the park alone. Then I did 3 laps of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Then we did the workout. We did 1 800. I was supposed to shoot for 3 minutes, my time was 2:54. The first lap was a 1:30, and the second a 1:24. It felt pretty hard. Much harder than it should have for that pace. Hopefully as I get in shape it will feel easier. Then we jogged one lap and did 10x200 with 100 meter jogging in between as recovery. These are my times for those:
1- 42
2- 43
3- 41
4- 41
5- 41
6- 41
7- 42
8- 41
9- 40
10- 38
I ran them with Carol. My legs were tired and felt a bit slugish today. I didn't think I was going to be able to make all ten at that pace, so I was really glad when I did. After that we did a lap around the park for the cooldown. (Pegasus 251)

It was a good workout. I pushed pretty hard and was very tired by the end of the workout. Afterwards we did a mile cooldown. My total time for the 7 miles was 57:43. (Pegasus 265)

Today I had a great race! I ran a 19:49, which is over a minute faster than Murray. My first mile was a 6:12, then a 6:16, and then a 6:43. The last tenth was a 37. My last mile was too slow. It was uphill but not that much so I'll have to work on that. I'm excited to have run under 20 again hopefully I can continue to improve. |

This morning we got to the start at about 5:20. I walked up to the start line and did a little bit of jogging. Then I did some strides. The race was a little late, so I had some time to do some extra warm-up. I was able to start right on the line. I had a good start. My plan for the race was to run 6:15-6:20's for the first 3 miles and then just do whatever I could for the rest of the race. The first mile everyone went out hard. Me and Zak Erickson were together through this mile. We were close to eachother in the race at Draper, so I figured I was at a good pace. When I came to the first split It turned out I had ran a 5:39. At first I was thinking wow, that was way too fast! But my legs felt fine so I decided to keep pushing. The next mile was a little harder because there was much less downhill, and gradual uphill before the mark. My split for this mile was a 5:45. It sort of worried me to see another split so fast, but I was still feeling good so I didn't worry too much. I was also glad to be pretty consistent in pace. The next mile was a bit harder. It had some steeper downhill as well as uphill. It didn't feel like I was really able to open up on the steep downhill just before 100 s. The uphill didn't feel too bad, and my legs still weren't hurting. My split at the 3 mile time was 6:24, so My 3 mile total was a 17:49. I'm guessing this put me somewhere around 18:30 at the 5k, and my PR in a 5k is 18:59 so that was encouraging. Right after this mark my legs are starting to feel it. My body realizes this isn't a 5k and I was only half way done. I started hurting but I just kept telling myself that I had the endurance and strength, so my legs would get me there I just had to keep pushing and keep hurting. My next split was a 6:15. I was surprised that it was this fast, because it felt like I had really slowed down. This was encouraging and helped me to push a little bit more. There were also a few people ahead of me that I was closing on and this pushed me too. The next mile was a 6:24. I was really hurting by this point, and I was counting down the blocks. I'm not sure if this made it go by faster or slower, but when ever I start to hurt I count down in meters, block, or minutes. If it's really bad sometimes in steps. I think it sort of puts it into a different prespective of how much longer I have to hurt, and breaks it up into sections. The last mile was a 6:52. This didn't feel too bad. I had ran it earlier in the week so I was prepared for it. By that point I had given everything and was just doing my best to get to the finish. The last .2 was 1:25. I didn't have any kick left in me. I was passed by 2 people right at the finish. My kick is something I will have to work on, but for now I was really happy with the race. My overall time was a 38:48. My goal was to break 40, so I did that and was really excited about it. A few things that I was happy about my race were that I kept pushing/hurting the whole time. I've been having a problem with getting into a comfort zone and not pushing out of it. Also I trusted myself more in this race which was important. Alot of races I'll start out at a pace I know I can hold, but I never try to go faster than that because I'm afraid I will die. Today I went out hard and trusted my legs enough not to back off. After the race I went and cheered for my dad on the Marathon. Then I jogged a lap around the park with Carre, for a cooldown. |

AM- This morning I slept in and didn't get to the park till 1:00, so I did my run in 103 degree weather. It was awful. I went 6 miles. I did 2 laps around sugarhouse park, and then jogged up and down the river for the last 2 miles hoping it would be cooler there. It took me 50:00. I'm a little sore from yesterday, but not too bad.
PM- Tonight I was having a sleep over with a friend, but since I still needed some more miles. I ran to the ice cream shop 4 miles from my house and we met up there. I pushed the last two miles and my time ended up being 30:40. It was a good run. My leg hurts a little but it should be ok in a few days. |

Me and Carre just took it easy while the others pushed ahead. After the 12 miles I decided to stop and I would just do 2 miles tonight to get my mileage in but then I realized I only needed one more mile so me and Carre jogged the last mile. I took it easy today, my leg started hurting at about 8 miles, but not too bad. My time was 1:49:11 so 8:23 pace. Overall it was a good run, but it did get hot by the end. (Pegasus 308) |
