I took second at USATF Nationals Cross-Country when I was ten. I was 6th at nationals in the 3000 in 2004. Personal: I did lots of competitive running growing up. I'm now 23 and have fibromyalgia and CFS. I just finished nursing school and am going back for my MSN in a few months, but I want to get back in shape and be able to run again. |

AM- Ran from the school down to liberty park. Did 10x1 minute fartlek. Then we finished the lap and jogged back up to the track. It was 5 miles.
PM- Ran from the track through the U campus up to shriners hospital and then back. It was also 5 miles for the day, so a total of 10. I got some new shoes that help with pronation. I think I am pronating and that is why my shin is hurting based on where the pain is. The shoes seem to help. With the new shoes it is much more manegable. (Evolution 10) |

AM- This morning I ran from my house to the golf course. I did a loop that goes out on a dirt trail and then back on some grass. The loop was about a mile. I did it 3 times the whole run was about 4 miles. Probably a little bit longer.
PM- We had a meet today. We decided to run the first 3k as a team. We were to hit 4:40 per k. We were pretty close but never quite hit the right time. We were always a few seconds slow. After the 3k we could go as fast as we wanted. It was hard to pick it up after running that pace for 3k. I picked it up a tiny bit but not very much. (Pegasus 21) |

AM- This morning we ran from the track up to Sunnyside park. We did 1 lap warm-up, then we did a 2 mile tempo. Then we did 1 lap cooldown and back to the track.
PM- Today we had the option to run on the roads or stay on the track. I chose to stay on track because it would be softer and flat. We did 1 mile warm-up, 2 miles of speed changes, and 1 mile cooldown. (Evolution 30) |

Today we ran at BYU. We jogged before the race about 2 miles. Then we ran the race. I got a good start, then I settled into a pace. I started passing people towards the end of the first lap and start of the second lap. I kept passing people but when I was almost to the third lap I was in between groups which made it harder to motivate myself. I think I slowed down from there, because girls started to pass me especially the last time on the track. I had 4 girls out kick me so I really need to work on my kick. My time was a 21:38 and I was 27th. The course was long and I figured if it would have been accurate I would have ran about a 19:40 so that was good but I still think I could have done better. AM- This morning I ran to sugar house park. We did the hill on the state course 5 times, then we ran back. PM- Tonight we did speed work. We did 1 mile warm-up, then 1 mile of speed changes and 1 lap slow. Then we did a ladder of 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 800, 600, 400, 200. Then we did 4 laps cooldown. Im not sure of all of my times but my first 200 was a 38, then my 400 was a 1:25, my last 200 was a 35. (Evolution 42) |

AM- This morning we did the VA loop, then we did 10x100 meter strides and a mile cooldown on the track. It was a good workout the strides felt really good. It rained on us during the VA loop pretty hard but was ok after that.
PM- Tonight we did just over a mile and a half warm up around the block with our school. We had a fitness challenge thing today as a school. After that we did the workout. We did 10x400. We were in groups of 2 and while one person ran we got to recover and we just switched off each lap. My partner was doing her 400's faster than me so I was getting less than equal recovery. These were my splits:

It was a good workout and at the end of each interval I was surprised by my times. My legs were really starting to feel it after about the 4th one. Afterwards we jogged a mile cooldown. My shin hurt a little more than normal but I think that is because I did the workout in flats instead of trainers. |

| I ran on the treadmill today because my shin was hurting and I was hoping it would be softer. I did 7 minutes warm up. Then I did some fartlek. 6x2 minutes on 1 minute off. I got 3 miles and my shin didn't hurt too much but still a little bit. |

AM-This morning I went on a shake out run before our race this afternoon. I ran about 2 and a half miles and threw in a few strides as well. My legs felt good. Where I was running was really pretty and I was sad I couldn't go further. I'll have to run there again on Sunday so I can see more.
PM- This afternoon we ran at GRIAK. It was a very big race. I tried to get out hard but didn't and got boxed in really bad but then it was a false start so it was ok. They didn't call the false start till about a minute into the race but at least I would have a second chance to get out better. The second start I got out much better. After the start I settled into a pace and pretty much stayed there. I think I need to work more on hills and my kick. My first mile was a 6:10 and my total time was 20:44. I finished in 110th and was at about the place throughout the whole race. After the race I was disappointed with my race because I think I could have pushed harder, so when we got back to the hotel I went for a run to calm down. I ran about 2 miles the first one was probably faster than what I ran in the race. |

| This morning I went for a run with my dad and Susannah. We ran on a trail by the hotel. We ran out just over two miles and then back. On the way back we took a bit of a detour which made the run closer to 5 miles. On the run we saw a racoon and 3 turkeys. Yesterday I saw 2 deer on the run. It was a really cool trail to run on I wish I could have seen a bit more of it. |

| We did one mile warm-up, then we did 2 laps of speed changes. Then the workout was 4x1 mile repeats. We were supposed to get progressively faster each mile. I was supposed to hit 6:25, 6:20, 6:15, and 6:10. I ran a 6:26, 6:20, 6:14, and a 6:01. We jogged 2 laps in between each mile for recovery. The first two felt good and were pretty easy. The third one was definetly the hardest. After that one I wanted to quit, and thought there was no way I would be able to hit a 6:10, but Emily told me to just stay positive and pretend like it was the end of a race. I did and was able to hit a 6:01. It felt pretty easy and I think I maybe could have went faster on the other ones. For a cooldown we jogged up to sunnyside park. We did a lap around and then back which was a mile and a half. I didn't take any ibuprophen before the workout and my leg didn't hurt too bad. I took some this morning but it probably had worn off by the workout. I'm going to try to cut back on the ibuprophen and see if I can be completely off of it by next week. |
