Vacationing up in Island Park Idaho, great weekend fishing. Sunday I was fishing in the river and a bear came down and stood on the bank less than 100 yards away. My son, brother-in-law and a couple of hikers just stood there staring. The bear went back into the brush and then came back down to the river and played with some trees for about 5 minutes and then left. It was really awesome to see a bear that close in the wild, it made the trip.
Had time for a quick run on Monday morning, I was on vacation after all. Nice run, it was cool up there in the morning and it's at altitude (2000 ft. higher than I'm used to).

Great run this morning. It was about 42 degrees when I left, perfect. When it's cooler I run better because I'm not over heating. I was able to push it pretty hard for the whole run, for me anyway.

Another great run this morning. I set out to try and take it nice and easy today after running pretty hard yesterday. I felt good this morning even though I rammed my thigh into the footboard on my bed.

I did not want to get out of bed this morning. It's been a busy week and I'm feeling a little tired. But I made myself get up and run and I'm glad I did, I feel a little better now and I'm not beating myself up for being lazy. My goal today was to just relax and run. Good run this morning it helps to concentrate on relaxing.

Good run today although I could only have water because I was fasting so that the doctors office could take blood this morning. I like to have a mixture of 1/2 Powerade and 1/2 Water. Felt good, I didn't really look at my watch except for mile 9 which was slightly slower than I would have liked.

Good run this morning, not really thinking about pace but I'm running pretty well for me right now. As long as I keep the average under 9 minute miles I'm happy.

Windy this morning, I had a pretty good head wind for most of the 1st half of my run. My legs felt a little heavy and I seemed to be breathing harder this morning. Could be from the wind and the first 2 miles being uphill.
Time: 1:04:44 (9:05 Ave. Pace)

Great run this morning even though my right thigh felt a little tight. Nice temps very little wind just made for a good morning to run. I really had to blast myself out of bed to go but I'm glad I did. I noticed at the half way point that my ave pace was 9:42 per mile, I was able to cut :45 sec off of that in the second half.

Nice run this morning, the moon was awesome. Full moon setting in the west and the sky went from blue to purple to pink. Kind of slow today on the run just decided to take the first couple of miles easy.

Good run again this morning although it was a little warmer, nice moon set in the west again. I don't know what was up with the Garmin this morning but it measured my first mile 30-40 yards longer than it usually does, wierd. It must be the full moon freaking it out......

No runs Thursday or Friday last week. I was diving in the Channel Islands off Santa Barbra CA.
Rainy and windy this morning so I was relegated to the treadmill, yuck. I was able to make myself go 5 miles today. I get too bored on a treadmill, I'm more of an outside running person.
Time: 45:00 (9:00 pace)
Splits where all at 9:00 pace.

Looks like I've caught some of this crap that's going around so I really don't feel well and especially in the mornings. I decided to go out for a run after work and it really kicked my butt. It was a struggle the whole way.

Another good run this morning even though I felt tired. My legs were especially tired and the first 2 miles seemed to drag. Once I got past those first 2 I felt better and finished strong.

Good run this morning, it was still pretty warm especially for the end of September. I'm not complaining though. I thought my effort felt normal today but the time was a little slow, I must be a little tired or something just not right today.

Good run this morning, effort felt about the same as yesterday but my average pace was better. I did have something odd happen today, a cat started chasing me up the road just like a dog would, very weird. I had to stop and tell it to go home.
