This heat is wiping me out. I thought I would be adjusting better but apparently not. It was everything I could do to finish the last 1-1.5 miles today.

On call for work last night had a rough one with backups and servers having problems so kind of cut my sleep time short. Good run this morning, felt good for not having much sleep. The only bad part is that it was garbage day, with this heat that garbage just stinks.
Used my new Garmin Forerunner 405 today. Nice watch I like it.

Great run this morning, I felt good. Not so tired and my legs felt better. I wish the baby birds that are up by the Armory in South Ogden would grow up faster so the parents would stop buzzing me as I run by. No harm done though but it's just kind of annoying.

Good run this morning after the vacation since Thursday. I was lazy and decided not to run on Friday so this was a 3 day weekend. We were up in Island Park, Idaho. Awesome weekend, went fishing, ATV riding, boating. We had a great time. Went over to Henry's Lake Outlet to do some flyfishing and my son drove over on the ATV to tell me breakfast was ready, right then a big bull came out of the bushes and started grunting and moaning. Made us kind of nervous so we got out of there pretty quick without incident. But I caught a few nice fish beside the bull problem.

Nice morning, it actually cooled down to the lower 60's felt good. Just a nice run this morning, lots of other walkers and runners out there today. A couple of new runners that I hadn't seen before. Hopefully they'll keep up the good work.

Just a short nice easy run today. A little smoky but not too bad. I got to get me some new headphones, the right side is shorting out and it keeps going on and off every couple of seconds it's driving me nuts. Didn't feel tired at all today.

Felt a little tired this morning when I got up, slept really well though. That tired feeling didn't carry over into my run this morning, I felt good today. Nice morning, I tried to race the sunrise this morning on the first half since I run south and east. It was close but I made it half way, the sun was trying to peak over Mt. Ogden for about the last mile but I beat it.

Finally remembered to get some new headphones yesterday so the music didn't keep cutting in and out driving me nuts today. I got some smaller ear bud type I'm hoping they last longer than they have in the past. I keep sweating them out and they stop working.
Good run today, I felt like pushing it a little bit on the 5th mile but I held back just trying to take it easy today.

Had a hard time getting to sleep last night and an even harder time getting up this morning. Glad I did though what a great morning to run. I think the best part was the slight headwind on the second half that kept me just slightly cooler. The run felt great today.

Had a hard time getting up again this morning, probably because I had a good nights sleep. Why can't I feel this way on the weekends when I can sleep in, I'm always up by 7:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Great run this morning, I'm feeling pretty good this week.

This is my on call week so I got woke up around midnight by a backup failure so I didn't sleep as well as I wanted to. Garbage day today and it was warm outside so pretty stinky this morning. All in all a good day to have my short run. Ran went great and I felt great today. My feet got a little warm from running on the hot pavement though. The first split was off today, my watch beeped for the mile split around 15 - 20 yards later than it usually does.

Slept good last night and had a really hard time getting up, I almost slept through my alarm. I decided to add a little distance today and by a little I mean a little, about .6. Windy today, I had a really good headwind for most of the 1st half today. The run felt good in an exhilerating way, I was kind of tired but it was a good tired.

Bad night for sleeping, kept getting paged every 15-30 minutes with backup failures. Very tired this morning and my legs felt fatigued. Made it through my run though, got sprinkled on for a short time which felt pretty good plus you can't beat the smell of rain on a nice summer morning.

Very warm and windy this morning. Had a good headwind for the first half then it died and I didn't get the benefit of a tailwind for the second half. Just tried to take it easy today, the warm/humid weather kind of wipes me out. Good run, decided to add a little to make it 10 miles this morning. The light rain did help a little.

Great run today, I felt really good. I kind of started pushing it after the first mile. I almost got 5 mile splits under 9 minutes. Just missed it by 3 seconds in the 4th mile, although some of that is slightly uphill. My guess is those longer runs on Monday's are starting to pay off on the shorter runs.

No work today so I slept in and ran late. Very hot this morning. It's a little tough for me to run when it's over 85-90 degrees. But I trudged through and made it.

Got up early so that we could golf before work. Got to just over 2 miles and my stomach said no more. I had to turn around and high tail it home. Not feeling very well today.

Nice run this morning, I'm feeling a little better than I did on Friday so that's always good. It was a little cooler when I started out this morning and it felt pretty good. I didn't start feeling that it was getting a little too warm until around 8 miles in so not too bad this morning heat wise. Good run otherwise this morning.

Not much sleep last night, on call again and a lot of backups kept failing keeping me up. Tired run today, a little cooler again (around 64) so that helped. My stomach is still kind of iffy as well but at least I made it through my normal run.

Had a great night last night, no calls no problems just sleep. Good run this morning, got out about a half hour late. A little warmer this morning than I like it but I won't complain.

| | Another great run this morning. I almost talked my self out of it because the inner part of my left thigh was sore, I'm glad I decided to give it a try. I find it a little amazing that when you push yourself a little bit harder and then ease off you end up running faster than normal on the ease off part yet I don't feel like I'm pushing it any harder. Had a nice ride on the Harley last night up Weber Canyon and then over Trappers Loop and down Ogden Canyon. Splits: 9:37, 9:50, 8:56, 8:52, 8:27, 7:59, 4:20 (.55 Mile) Time: 58:03 (8:52 Ave. pace) 1st Half: 30:24 2nd Half: 27:39 | Add Comment |
