| | 5 miles in the a.m. 5 miles in the p.m. Did both runs nice and easy. My knee feels much better. I can still feel a minor pain behind the knee cap. But over all I feel much better. | Add Comment |
| | 8.5 miles in the morning 8.5 miles tonight before the BYU game. Knee feeling pretty good. Have taken IB and also spent time with ice on it. This week I decided to rest and do less miles. I think overall it was a good call. Hope to be feeling good come monday and hit it hard next week. | Comments(1) |
| | 9 miles in the morning 9 miles this afternoon Did both runs around 7-7:40 pace. My knee is still a little sore but feeling better every day. I just can't cut back to 60 this early. Will play it by ear this week and see how I feel. I still feel like I can improve between now and the STGM. Although I will not do any more speed work on the track. May just do some tempo runs as part of a longer workout. If I start to feel pain through this week I'll do less miles. I wanted to do 100 this week but will stay around 80-90 as long as I feel good. I need to use this time while I'm "jobless" to train as good as I can. | Comments(1) |
| | 6.5 miles in the a.m. 6.5 miles in the p.m. blah I was looking on the web and runners corner has updated their web page and made a good link to the Hobble Creek race with some pretty good pictures of the St.George running club, and Chad. http://runners-corner.com/ | Comments(1) |
| | 7 miles in the morning 9.5 miles in the windy night with Bill Felt like not running tonight- but went out with Bill and after the workout felt pretty good. We ran from the running Store down through Santa Clara up around the Hamilin house and then back down through the lava rock area up to softball fields and back up to the running store. I drove it later and it was just over 9.5 miles. | Comments(2) |
| | 8.5 miles in the morning 12.3 miles with the club Meet with the club at the park did 4 miles jogging around the park before the workout. Then Dustin came and we went around the Bloomington Hills loop. It is 8.3 miles. Did a few more than I wanted to today. But it felt good. Really nice cool temp- we ran almost all of it tonight in the rain. 72 feels so much better than 100 for those afternoon runs. | Comments(1) |
| | 7 miles a.m. 5 miles p.m. just getting in the miles. | Add Comment |
| | Ran from Gunlock res down through Ivans and over the last few miles of the marathon course. It's been really nice here in Dixie the last couple days- the rain has cooled it off and it really seems to help the running. Good run today. First few miles were hard- then after the halfway point pushed it in and felt really good considering the miles from the week. When I got to the marathon finish line I did another mile and a half of cool down. | Comments(1) |
| | 6.5 early in the morning 6.5 late in the evening Really starting to feel good. As all ways it takes me a couple weeks to get over a race. I am starting to feel strong and swift again. Tonight did some pick-ups during the run, around 2.5 miles at 800m pace through out the run. Felt good. It was around 9p.m. and the temp was nice and cool. | Add Comment |
| | Got up this morning and went out on my old Big loop run. I haven't ran it much since May. I ran it in the reverse direction and added a little more. Pretty good run. I saw anouther turtle out on the trail. That makes three so far. This one didn't really care if I was around. Just watched me run by. Ran 5 miles tonight after the Big Brother final episode. It sucked. | Comments(3) |
| | 7 miles in the a.m. 5 miles in the p.m. On my morning run I got carried away running back home. I was listening to the Rocky Soundtrack, and dreaming about winning the STGM in 07 or 08, and I hit a mile of pure downhill... With my emotions running high I hit 6th of 7 miles in around 4:45 split. It was fun to run that fast, and then when I got home I cationed myself on how dumb it was. Thats an injury waiting to happen. Did an easy five tonight out on the golf course by my house. I'm starting to get my annual September allergies. I'm already sick of having a runny nose. | Comments(5) |
| | 7 miles in the a.m. 9 miles in the p.m. Had some bad food before the run tonight with the club. Bad day for me... | Comments(2) |
| | Short run late in the afternoon. Still feeling a little sick. | Add Comment |
| | The title of this run is "it sucked" or "the wind blew more than it sucked." I googled it at around 17 miles it may have been a little farther. Running hills and into the wind all day made it feel like 22. Steve and Bill did a good job keeping things fun. I could have stopped anytime after 10. I hate wind. Let's just say if it's windy on marathon day I may stay in bed and I'll come watch you guys finish. | Comments(1) |
| | 8.5 miles this morning 8.5 miles this evening Ran the loop up to the water tank and back down through the industrial park both time today. Pushed the pace on both runs from the water tank down. So around 3 miles per run at 10k pace. Legs, lungs, and body feeling good. My mind however is in this endless stressed out, planning/game plan mode. I'm guessing from now until the marathon will be kind of a mental war. Hope to run a good first half of this week and then see how it goes later on. We are leaving for our fall golf trip to Moab on Thursday. So I'm not sure what kind of miles I'll do in Moab. Saturday morning I may run the Moab half course if I can find it. | Comments(2) |
| | 9 miles in the morning 5 miles in the evening Did the morning run and it felt good. Went about my day and after going to the temple my wife wanted to go get some food. So we went to Red Lobster and I went crazy on the rolls that are amazing. After eating I decided that I wasn't going to go for a run tonight. Then we got home and I paced around thinking about not going out again. It was like not feeding a crying baby, I had to go. So at 9 p.m. I went out and did 5 more. | Comments(1) |
| | 9.5 miles in the morning 6.5 miles this evening On the morning run I had a case of the heavy legs. I just never got in rythem. The whole run was hard and sluggish. Then this evening I was in a different world. After a mile warm up it felt like I was floating. Fast and fun. I'm not sure why I felt so good tonight but I'll be happy if that same guy shows up on any race day. | Comments(1) |
| | ran 9 in stg this morning and 5 more when we got to moab. updating this on a cell phone. | Comments(1) |

| | 3 in the morning 9 in the evening We got home late from Moab Sunday night or early Monday morning so I wasn't feeling as spry as I needed to go out and run this morning. This afternoon I went out. Feeling the need to get a good workout in and burn off all the trash in my system from the weekend. It wasn't the best 9 miles I've ever ran. I had a very hard time finding my stride. As the marathon draws closer I am struggling to find that good running stride that I'll need on race day. It's like I'm running for the first time. No rhythm. | Comments(3) |
| | 7 miles in the morning 7 miles in the evening This morning I ran an easy 7 up into the desert over to the water tank and down the paved road. Did around a mile and a half surge during the run. Then this evening I decided to get one more hard workout in. So I drove over to Webb hill and did the hill 3x. It is around a 9% grade dirt road that is one mile up. Did .6 warm up and .6 cool down. Good workout. Legs feeling it pretty good- not worried still have 10 days left to refuel. | Comments(2) |
| | 2 miles in the morning 5 miles in the evening I wanted to do a lot of things today and running wasn't one of them. Just one of those days. Both runs were low effort, easy runs. | Add Comment |
| | 5 miles in the morning 8 miles in the evening with the club. I didn't think we went that far last night but it still look to be a little more than 8 miles. Felt good tonight- other than my "splash" stop at Harmons to use the restroom. | Comments(3) |
| | ran out of time today and only had time to go out and do a quick 5 miler at around 10k pace due to time. | Add Comment |
| | Ran with the club from the start of the marathon in Central down to around the halfway point. Felt like crap. If I had to race today it would have been bad. Hope to get things back in order before next week. | Comments(2) |
