| | Fun run with the running club. Good to be out with the boys again. | Add Comment |
| | As luck would have it I couldn't sleep at 4am so I got up and did a run before having to go to the golf thing at 6a.m. I was happy to get this run in after the fact because there would have been no way to get one in any other time today. | Add Comment |
| | Did a run this afternoon. My wife made a big meal and I only waited about one hour after eating it to go running...bad, bad news. Dry heaving all over the place, I wish it would have just came spewing out. The run took me forever. Like 2hrs for the 13. Just keep feeling like I was going to hurl, then I would dry heave then run for a while then the process would start over. Lost 7lbs in that one little jaunt. I really wish I had waited. | Comments(1) |
| | Walked about 5 miles around SF checking things out today. | Add Comment |
| | ran 3.5 in the morning on the TM. Went out on the streets of SF after my meetings. Some of the streets are straight up and down. Just like in the movies with the trollies rolling by and cars parked at 90 degrees so they can't roll down the hill. Did the last 3 or so along Fishermas warf. It was a fun run other than the whole thing was on cement. I hope I don't get injured running on such hard surfaces all week. Tomorrow I think I'll go up by the Golden Gate bridge and look for a good running path or grass. | Add Comment |
| | Did my morning run Then after the meetings that went until 7:15pm today I went out up the shore line twards the Golden Gate. I've never ran against such a stong head wind going up to the bridge. It would almost bring me to a hault. Really worked the legs. I ran up to the bridge and over it, then back down some different trails by the beach, and back to the room. After the run I was so dead that I didn't even go get some food... just got in a bath and went to bed. | Comments(2) |
| | 3.5 am 10 pm ran the streets of SF. The hills and hard surfaces are making me pretty sore. It will be nice to get home and run on some dirt. Then best thing here is the temp 70 degrees is a lot better than 95+.... | Add Comment |
| | 3.5 in the morning Then walked about 7 after meetings down to the ball park and half way back after the game. I'll call it 2.5 | Add Comment |
| | I had to find some time to get this run in today. It was my last day in SF and between meetings and everything else all I got in was a good six. | Add Comment |
| | Finally home again. I got in late last night and did not get up to run this morning. Mik'L and I went hiking today and we had a ton of things to get done. So at 10 o'clock tonight I just went out to get whatever I needed to get to 60 miles for the week. The last part of this week kind of fizzled out but with all my work, and travel I was exited to get 60 miles in. Tonight I ran my 3.5 mile loop twice. The first lap was @ 25 min the second lap was more a tempo pace at 21 something. Not amazingly fast but a pretty good pace. | Comments(1) |
| | 3.5 morning run 12 mile big loop run @ 6:30. It was pretty hot out at least 95 but I needed to get out. I just paced myself and it really wasn't that bad. Around mile 7 I almost stepped on a big grey snake. The sucker came out of nowhere. It scared a few bright words out of me. The last few miles of the run I seemed to be a little crampy but still finished in a regular time. Dropped a few pounds...Saturday afternoon after hiking I was 162, still packing a lot of trashy weight from eating on the trip. Tonight after the run I was 152.5 before I started drinking. | Comments(4) |
| | 3.5 in the am 9 miles from my house to my in-laws. Its a 10 miler but I took a 1 mile short cut. The wind in STG was 59 mph... It felt really good for the 2 miles at my back, but for the 4 at my side and 3 in my face it was murder. | Add Comment |
| | 3.5 in the morning 9 miles up and around Turner Turf Farm. I had planned to do only aroud 6 but it was only like 84 degrees. Days like that in STG don't come around very often in June. I'm feeling pretty flat...I will most likely not run at all on Thursday to give my body some time to rest so I can try and race Friday morning. | Add Comment |
| | Went to the park to run, but noone showed and I was kind of glad cuz my legs were still trashed. | Add Comment |
| | Ran the summer games 10k. Did around a mile warm up. The race went good. I finished in 3rd place, overall... 2nd in my divison. My time was 34:38 around 5:30 pace. I was pretty happy with the results. A young kid from Viewmont won the race then Jose Martinez from St. George took 2nd. I really wanted to beat Jose. I stayed right with those two until the last mile and a half then I started to feel cramped and they pulled away a little more. I think if it was a half or a marathon I can beat Jose in the future. Anyways pretty good race. A lot of downhill- 85% downhill, 10% flat, and 5% or less uphill. | Comments(3) |
| | After the race on Friday we drove up to Park City. The temp up here is soo nice. Did some golfing and shoping. I went out at aroud 3pm today and it was only like 70 degrees... felt so good. I was pretty stiff from the race so I just slugged along for the first 3 or so miles and then the last 2 or so. Just did what I needed to get to the weeks goal. | Add Comment |
| | 3.5 am run 6 miles after work. I went out for a longer run today after work but it was too hot. I waited til 7:30 p.m. and it was still around 100 degrees. So tonight I talked myself into the longer morning runs. Tomorrow I'll start getting up earlier and doing my long run for the day before work. I'll still run in the afternoon after work but only 3-5 miles...that is do-able. Anything more than 5 miles is death in this heat. I've been losing 6-8 lbs every run in water weight, on top of that it zaps my energy to zero. | Add Comment |
| | Did a 9 mile morning run. Ran the truf farm loop. It was nice this morning, but not cool like I thought it would be. It was still around 80-83 degrees at 5:30 a.m. However that feels a lot better than 100...and if its 100 on the news then out on the blacktop street at 6 pm its 105-110. I need a summer home back home in Torrey. Did 3.5 miles tonight. | Add Comment |
| | Did a nice run up in the trails above my house. Saw a rattle snake right in the middle of the trail all coiled up sleeping. I decided to leave it alone and went on my way. Ran 6 more miles tonight from my in-laws around the base of Formaster and up by Costco, under the freeway and back home. | Comments(2) |
| | Did a quick 5 mile run before work...Will do more tonight with the running club. Didn't go to the club. Ran from my house down to Pine View High (2 miles) then ran 3 miles on the track while my wife did a sprint workout. Then we drove home. | Comments(2) |
| | Got up at 4:50 a.m. and ran my 9 mile truff farm loop. Ran it pretty slow, just tried to enjoy the morning and get some miles in. | Add Comment |
| | Did a good run early Saturday morning with the Club. Ran nice and easy for the first 9 or so miles then started to up the tempo the rest of the way in. Felt good until the last mile and a half then stated slowing down. Raced a guy riding a Mt. bike for about 3 and a half miles up the hill. I trailed him for a whle then passed him until we split the trail and went on our ways. He said to me " its hard for me to keep up with you... and I'm on a bike". So after that I felt like the pace wasn't too bad. Because he said he rides 16 miles a day.... Glad to up the miles this week and feel good along the way. | Comments(3) |
| | Ran 7 miles at 5:30 a.m. Then ran 7 miles at 8:00 p.m. | Add Comment |
| | 6.5 in the morning 5.5 in the afternoon. The air quality isn't the best out due to the fires all around us. After my run tonight I came home and had black stuff in the corners of my eyes from all the ash in the air...I guess. | Add Comment |
| | 7-mile morning run. I had a dream last night that I woke up at about 8 a.m. on the day of the St. George Marathon. In my dream I was just doing normal Saturday morning things and I talked to some guy outside of my house and he said "well they are on their way." I said, "who's on their way." "The marathoners," he said. At that moment my whole body went limp and my mind race to realize I'd slept in. I ran in the house and sobbed. Then at that moment the rain came from nowhere and wind like I'd never seen before. Then with in seconds I felt comforted and decided that if it had been bad weather then it wasn't the best circumstances for me to run a PR marathon and achieve my running goals.... Anyways as you can see this was a bad dream, well a nightmare. I hope it means nothing. I'll have every alarm clock in the house set this year just to make sure, and as far as the weather... I guess we are all hoping for good running weather this year for the STGM. Ran out and back for 6 more miles. Before I left I felt great, better than I remember feeling anytime the last few weeks. However about 3 miles into the run I died. It was still around a 100 and my energy level just got zapped. Had to turn around and come home with my tail between my legs. | Comments(1) |
| | Got some good rest last night. Plus I ate and drank some good stuff to fill my tank back to normal. Just did a easy run this morning. Will run a few with the club tonight. Ran around the park area for another 3 miles with the club, had to do some laps at the park to get there. | Add Comment |
| | Drove from my house up the Marathon road here in St. George. The 20 mile mark just happend to fal at the top of Veyo hill. So I started out from the crest of the hill to the top of Dameron Valley its about 3 and a half to 4 mile climb. I ran this part really slow, just couldn't get going. Then once I started the down hills got into a good tempo and came to my halfway point at 1:05.16 that was at Winchestor hills area. Then started my last leg and ran fine until the light where I cut up and hit the skyline drive road. From there it was all very difficult. I just wanted to quit. Still ran a negative split and loged 1:02.20 for my last leg. Total for the run was 2:07.36 ish . I was a little bumb with the time really wanted to run 20 miles at or under 2hrs. This run tells me there is alot of work to do. My only disclaimer is that I haven't tappered off any this week or last to get ready for this run, in fact I've jumped my mileage up. Good thing its June and not September. | Comments(1) |
