I came home from work and jumped on the elliptical for 30 minutes and ran 3.25 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes, I felt okay as far as the hip goes but it is starting to get a little sore as I'm writing this I 'll see how it is in the morning. If my hip is sore then I will sleep in, I finished up with some strength training and then some push-ups...

See ya tomorrow.

No running today or yesterday or Thursday and I think I'm leaning towards taking the rest of the year off and just see how I heal. I just don't see the benefit of running once or twice a week and then never getting healed, and on top of that I don't even know if I will run a marathon next year or not, so whats the point of it all... I don't mean to be a boob about it but it just seems I have been injured this whole year so I need to try something different or I will never get back to running again, hopefully it will work out alright but who the heck knows at this point;-( I will post once a week or so just to let you all know I'm alive and then I can check in on all you guys and gals just to make sure you are not slacking!

Later.

I'm pretty much feeling the same so no real changes. My brother-in-law is moving from Colorado in a week and he is bang up PT so I'm hoping he can help get to where I need to be, I'm tired of this crap and I want to get back to running period!!!

See ya.

Still taking it easy... Ran up the stairs and didn't feel any pain but when I stretch reality sets in and I know the injury is still there, but thats okay this is a good time to take it easy. I am putting on a little weight, but that is to be expected I have never been very good when it comes to eating, but I know I will lose it again when I get back to running consistantly, at least I hope I will.

I decided to give my hip a try and so I ran 1 mile on the treadmill and then did the rest of the workout on the elliptical. Warmed up for 10 minutes on the elliptical and then ran 1 mile on the treadmill, with no pain, and then I did a workout on the elliptical and it kicked my butt! I did the trail race on there and it was pretty brutal, with no pain there which is a good sign;-) I think I still will take it easy between now and the end of the holiday season and then slowly build back up with a combination of running and cross training, I will take it easy and build slowly as not to have anymore set backs.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

See you on Monday.

Late night workout after work, 30 minutes elliptical and 1.25 miles on the treadmill. My hip felt okay, no pain but is a little sore as I write this. My brother-in-law the PT gave me some stretches to do to help my hip get better, I guess its my IT band that is giving me the problems, which is what thought so I will start to work it a little bit and then continue with the stretching and the stiff foam roller to help loosen... I will see how it goes this week and then see how I feel and go from there.

See ya tomorrow.

I was up at 7am and then down to my friend the elliptical, started out with a 10 minute warm-up and then headed over to the good old treadmill for 1.15 and then right back to the elliptical for the programed workout "The Fast Track" this is a pretty good workout as it peaks at 7 on the resistance level and pretty much kicks my butt!!! That workout lasts 20 minutes, I wanted to do a little more on the treadmill but held back as not to over do it, I just want to get my legs moving again and get the old muscles use to the working out...

My hip was okay, it was a little sore but I really didn't feel it during the workout so that is a good sign. I finished with some stretching and I think next week I will start doing some strength on my upper body and just slowly work my way back, I am also trying the Acai Berry supplement and the colon cleanse together just to see if it will rid my body of the unwanted toxins, its all natural so I will see how it goes.

See ya tomorrow.

I waited until after work to do my workout, started with a 10 minute warm-up on the elliptical and I ran 2.15 miles on the treadmill in 20 minutes and then I finished with 20 minutes on the elliptical ( fast track) kicked my butt again! My hip felt pretty good but yesterday I was bringing in the garbage's and I slipped and felt my groin muscle twinge and it is a little sore right now but I guess I will have to deal with it,  Hopefully its not to bad.

See ya tomorrow.

I started with the usual warm-up on the elliptical and then I alternated between the elliptical and the treadmill; 10 minutes running and then 10 minutes on the elliptical. Average pace for the running was 9:25, just nice and easy and then on the elliptical I just kept the RPM above the 90 speed, no resistance today on the elliptical... The hip felt pretty good and the groin seemed to do okay once it got loosened up, so all in all it was a better workout than I have had in awhile so very encouraging;-)

Happy New Year to all of you, see ya tomorrow.
