10 tm miles and 35 minutes elliptical style today. 8 lbs of extra fat thank you Lake Powell. The only good news. My stamina didn't skip a beat. I've still got it. I missed running so much, I felt heart sick. Bottom line, just call me fatty McGee.

Rough day already and it's only 7 am. I didn't get to sleep until around midnight, then I woke up at 4:30 with a huge headache. I got to the gym by 4:50, I did the elliptical for an hour and 10 minutes, then I ran 3 miles on the tm with Julie. Now I'm home with a giant lack of sleep headache and we're going to the Provo parade. It's going to be a long, hot, painful morning. Nice...

Was supposed to run the freedom run in Provo this morning. I got over it

**pm update*  ran 4 miles up 300 south/canyon rd. That hill is kind of a killer but oh it was fun! I was impressed with my splits if I can say so. 7:46 7:25 6:52 7:12.  Can you tell the last two were mostly downhill? I am stoked with my quick splits for the first 2 miles uphill. Woohoo! Side note: can't a girl just go run without having an engine revved at her, being honked and whistled and yelled at? Seriously, I am just out there to run- that's it.

First thing this morning I stepped on the scale at the gym and I'm already down 7 of the 8 lbs. I put on at Lake Powell. It's only been 4 days since I've been home. See, that's what will power can do for a person. :) I ran 6.2 this morning in 46 minutes. Then elliptical for 36 minutes. Lifted & worked core. Good start to a beautiful day.

Burt you had better watch it on the back fat there. Looking kinda droopy. Is that a strap you're wearing? Hard to say!

Today my alarm didn't go off . I woke up at 5:55 and jumped up. I ended up just running the river trail loop 2 times 7 miles total. My endurance just wasn't there this morning. It was terrible. Red hot pink chicks 1/2 on Saturday? ha ha I don't think so, I have no faith. I will crash and burn.

*pm update* Ran 4 miles up the river trail and then I walked a mile with Lynsey and our friend Chalene. It was to funny.  Avg. pace 7:18

How is one expected to get up and run at 5 am when one has been woken up multiple times during the night? I have not a clue. I couldn't wake up this morning if my house was on fire.

Maybe by this time tomorrow I will be contemplating this phrase ha

RHPC 1/2 Marathon this morning. It was so fun. Marion is a doll and I was so lucky to meet lot's of people today. Loved Smooth, RAD, LUZ Aubree, McKenzie and twinkies. Loved chit chatting with Kellies & kelli. There were others I met but have forgotten their names.

I have been a little worried and also wondering all week long about how I would do running a 13 miler when my distance running just hasn't been there the last 2 weeks. But I did fairly good and I felt great. So glad the sun didn't come out until I hit about 6 miles and shortly thereafter hit the turn around to come back, so the sun was on my back. Good times and FRB'ers are the coolest peeps around. Lot's of yum-o food after wards. I had to resist- it would have been Lake Powell chow down revisited.

Run time according to my watch: 1 hr 40 min 52 sec

I came home and we headed right over to the Payson Scottish Games and now I am headed out for a GNO. Busy day but oh so fun.

Got to the gym around 4:55. Worked on the elliptical with Kira for 45 min. Then I did some speed work for a mile on the treadmill. Worked abs, arms. Drove home, hopped out of the car and took off down to the river trail and ran 7 more miles. The running felt kind of slow today. Time to pick it up! avg. pace 7:43

Today is the same as yesterday. Gym at 4:50, elliptical for 45 min. lifted, worked core. Left the gym. Went running on the river trail. My 2nd loop around I see this woman up ahead and so I make her my focal point to try to catch up to her. Well, as I got closer who would it be? Julie! :) LOL! It was so fun to run the last 1 1/2 miles with her home. I was majorly tired this morning, to the point of tears. When this happens, I always know that I need to get to bed earlier. Super hard when the sun is out so late!  And a Happy Birthday to Scott Wesemann!

6.2 on the tm in 44 min speed interval style. Running on the tm feels like a breeze compared to outside. Then I worked on the eliptical for 45 minutes. Lifted and worked my core. Tonight I will run up a hill.

I think the use of my ipod is slowly making me go deaf. I am constantly saying 'sorry, what?'. I am annoying right now. I notice I can't really see the clocks on the gym walls. Grrreat, blind and deaf. Welcome to old age already.

So here is a picture of my arm that was fish hooked by a kid near the river trail a week and half ago. I was running along minding my biz and snag, OUCH! What the fuzz?

Alright, just for Jun today I mixed things up a bit by running FIRST on the tm for 7 miles. I did speed work. I prefer to do my speed work on the tm vs. outside, just because I feel I have full control over it. My pony tail was flipping sweat so bad by the time I was done. Then I did the elliptical for a whopping 18 minutes. Did some other random things in the weights.....to lazy to blog about it. Today is a nap day for sure zzzzzzzzzzzz

First off! Totally beat last years time by almost 5 minutes. That is the most important thing to me, I beat last years time!! That was my goal. Check!

Merri and Larry ( he's the neighborhood  rat boy... j/k!! )  met me at my house this morning at 5:45 and off we went to the race at Canyon View park near the mouth of S.F. canyon. It was WINDY & Chilly!  We got ourselves all ready and out the car we went. Merri and I FIRST THING- ya, we pee in the bushes! ha!  The porta-potties line was long. Merri got some poky stickers from a weed stuck in her shorts so that totally mixed things up. Merri and I headed to the very front of the start line and there we took hits of some cyto-max and hammer gels. I did my usual pump-jump up and down to warm my muscles. Things are feeling good. I had a good feeling about it all.  Gun fires, race is off! Last thing I hear is: " see you at the end Lily". Poor Merri- she is a gifted runner, but she just had her baby 2 months ago. She will be back %100 soon enough- you know it! :)

Mile 1 7:06   Getting out of the narrow park road with all those people is always insane! Just doing my best here until we get out and on the uphill road. This hill is a beootch to climb. Pardon my french, but all would agree it kind of hurts!

Mile 2  6:29   still a little uphill, then down, and this is where I kicked it. I passed many a peeps during this mile. I had no fatigue or anything from the hill. I was so glad. I saw TylerS from the blog coming down towards us. I gave a big smile and a wave and he in return. We missed you this year Tyler and Kellie!

Mile 3  6:38   still keeping a pretty good pace and feeling good. There is a small downhill and then flat. I tried my hardest to tear it up. Still passing peeps woohooo....

Mile 4  6:47   this is on river bottoms road and it kind of seems endless. It is mentally tough to get through this mile, every time. I don't know why. I just keep grinding and looking at my watch and try to stay below the 7 min thresh. I succeed!

Mile 5  6:53   Mental toughness mile again. But I keep grinding and reminding: I know I can do this, I do it all the time. Keep going. Yes people, I pep talk myself ALL THE TIME.  This is funny, on this mile I pass my ex-boyfriend from high school. Right next to him. And I think, haha in my head. :P

Mile 6.2  7:00 pace- The most mentally tough mile of all. Legs say stop now, mind says no freaking way! Keep going. At these points, I always dig deep and listen to the music. Fast beats always carry me through. I feel so much better as I approach center street and see all the people. I hear lot's of shouts of my name. Turn some corners.....yes the finish! I see friends Julie, Adam and kids. Lot's of neighbors & other friends. And at the very end, 3 of my cute kids. I was so happy. I saw my time and I almost cried. I smashed my year before time by nearly 5 minutes. That is important to me.

Pictures! Not the best quality thanks to FRB capabilities ahemm...

This picture is funny. My eyes water when I run outside. Must be the breeze. So look close at my eyeballs if you can. I am doing the one-eyed blink. LOL!

Chit chatting with Merri Hackett, Rachel Gordon, Jen Hughes.

Where's Lily?

My face is just way to thin.
3 cute kiddos.

After I got to the car, I discovered some blood going on.

Legs are pretty sore from Saturday but I'll be fine. Last night my left heel started hurting like it did last December. So I'm a little bummed. I woke up this morning at what I thought was 4:20 am.  I thought I felt REALLY tired. I went in the bathroom and got my workout clothes on and all that jazz. Went downstairs and I looked the clock that said 3:30 am. I looked at my cell phone that said 3:30. I was so ticked. One of my kids changed my alarm clock time an hour forward. Ugghh. So I snuck back into bed with my workout clothes on and promptly fell back asleep. Then I woke up later than I wanted -5 am.

Since my heel hurts, I just worked on the eliptical for 1 1/2 hrs. Then I had a little time to lift and work my core. I had a nice time at the gym having some deep talks with Kira. It was really good for me. Happiest Monday.

Went to the gym and elipticized for 50 min. Lifted and worked core. Left and came home to run the river trail 5.50 miles in 41:03. Fun stuff. I felt slow and tired today. Probably because there was barely a 12 hour recovery between this mornings and last nights workouts.

This course was uphill for about the first 3 miles in the dirt and rocks. I sucked. I couldn't keep up. I wanted to die. I ran the last two downhill miles fast to make up.In turn that caused me to roll both my ankles slightly. I suck. But I will be back up there again on my own time to learn to conquer it because that's just how I am.
