Super grateful for my support crew: Derek Gallacher, Marieta Decker, Ross, Quinton Read, and Andrew Allen They all helped me reach my goal of 60. I ran pretty well through 50-51 then started to have some crazy IT band issues. Did a lot of speed walking and stiff-legged jogging towards the last 7-8 miles. Definitely slowed my average down. 60.26 miles
Leg 1: Ran with Derek and had a great time catching up on life. 54:35/9:03 ave
Leg 2: Ran with Derek, Ross, Marieta and Trey. Probably my favorite lap hanging out with the crew. 1:54:28/ 9:29 ave
Leg 3: First lap by myself. Just on the grind. 2:51:01/ 9:28 ave
Leg 4: Ran with Quinton and some Cedar dudes. Ended up winning the lap without realizing it until later. 3:47:27/ 9:26 ave
Leg 5: Ran with Quinton and Andrew and talked about Eggnog miles and running stories. 4:46:39/ 9:30 ave
Leg 6: Ran with Andrew and started to feel some pain in my knees. 5:20:26/ 9:41 ave
Leg 7: Ran by myself. Took an excedrin from Andrew and felt better and got some energy back. 6:49:50/ 9:43 ave
Leg 8: Saw an opportunity to take off when the front group stopped to fix a light on the path. I pushed a little bit to make sure I won the lap. 7:43:44/ 9:37 ave
Leg 9: Andrew and a Cedar kid joined me on the decline. Started to really feel the IT band pain in both legs/knees. Survived the lap and knew the 10th lap was going to be a walk fest. 8:52:07/9:49 ave
Leg 10: Walked and jogged occasionally to make sure I finished in under an hour and 30 minutes. IT bands were very painful. Any bending in the knees was terrible. 10:07:09/ 10:05 ave
