pm--5 Golf course run w/ some good chatter. Aspen looks ready to take off. 
 

I finished To Pray & to Love by Roberta C. Bondi. It's one of the best books on prayer, if not spiritually, that I've ever read. I need to put together a cheat sheet or something for quick future reference.

pm--5.75 Ks and some track work. The girls were lamenting that they don't see the coaches suffer through the pain of workouts, so I jumped in for most of it. 'Twas fun.

am--2.5 Good run w/ a skeleton crew. 
 

pm--4 Canyons and back. I ended up running and chatting w/ Abi and Aspen. They're good running buddies.

am--5 Up Crestview and down Canyon View. Ended up feeling peppy the last 2ish miles.

am--4.75 Beautiful morning run w/ the skeleton crew. Lots of dad jokes this morning.

pm--5.75 Traditional Barrel Roll. A biker and I basically raced each other going separate ways and chatted a bit after. I've met people from around the country at that trailhead.

am--5 Anasazi w/ Tom. Lots of good chat about the prophetic nature of sci-fi writers.

am--3.5 Up from the school w/ Ben, Abigail, Aspen, Noelle, and Ava. 
 

pm--5.5 Vineyard w/ the boys for a bit but mostly Aspen. We sang about the secret tunnel, and I learned about Alaska.

pm--4 Sunbrook w/ my neighbor. He told me all about airborne school.

am--2.25 Easy morning run. I didn't get out later because school stuff piled up.

am--4 I didn't know if I would get a run in with family obligations and flags, but I did. The run ended up being a quickly descending progression run, maybe, because I had to get home quick. 2 miles of tempo and 1 close to 5k race pace for my current self. I feel more running fit then I have in a few years.

pm--5.75 Barrel Roll counterclockwise. Slow but good. I saw Cort, a god amongst men, near the end.

am--4.75 Path to Harmon's w/ a little biff. My wrist is a bit sore, and my knee is scraped. 
 

I finished the 3rd installment of Stephen King's The Dark Tower: The Waste Lands. These books always start slow but pick up to barn-burning pace by the end.

am--5 Run w/ Tom.

am--3.5 Run on Sunset w/ some extra w/ Ben.

pm--4.75 Vineyard w/ Abigail and Redfearn. People disappear after runs start. It's disheartening. 
 

I finished a great book about fishing, loving, and philosophizing--The River Why by David James Duncan. He's a great regional writer who should have more acclaim. Maybe, he needs to write more.

pm--6 Contrnder workout w/ the girls. It was fun pushing them to a great workout.

pm--4.75 Heights run. I totally forgot to engage my alarm last night and slept in. It all worked out w/ some neighborhood exploration.

am--5.25 Up to the Canyons by my lonesome. First cold morning of the fall.

pm--4.75 Vineyard w/ 6x pickups. I ate a bowl of creamy soup and a few breadsticks minutes before. My stomach is transforming.

I finished Run to the Top by Arthur Lydiard and Garth Gilmour. I don't think Lydiard has it all right but he has more right than anyone else.

am--4.5 Met up w/ Ben and discovered a couple tempo loops. Nice chatting w/ home. Seems like good things are happening in his life.

pm--5 Sidewinder. It's been a while since I've climbed up there. On the descent, I saw a hound dog that looked almost like my Fanny. This dog was a little tamer.

am--6.5 Anasazi w/ an OCEAN personality test discussion. Beautiful morning.

am--6 Nice chilly run w/ Ben in the neighborhood around the school.

pm--7 Rim trails. It was great to get out on some of my favorite trails. Views for miles.

am--10 Suicidal Tendencies. Lots of people at the trailhead w/ their sprinter vans and other high-dollar vehicles just to schlep their bikes a mile up the road. The clientele of this trail has changed over the last decade. Can't blame anyone for wanting to be on these trails, though. I took it easy and enjoyed my first double-digit run in a while. I also spotted Andrew and Jared, 2 good dudes.

am--6.25 Anasazi to the creosote w/ Cholla loop. I took Fanny the trail dog w/ me today for the Turkey Trail 10k. She did well until the last mile or so, except she picked it up drastically where we saw the bobcat about a month ago. There must be some strong cat scent down there.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. This year, I'm thankful to my wife who allows my running habit; Tom, my trail buddy; Fanny, my other trail buddy; xc peeps; and infinite books to read. 

It's been about a week ago, but I finished Postcolonial Love Poem, a poetry collection by Natalie Diaz. 

am--5.75 Barrel Roll CW w/ Josie and her friend Quinn. Nice run. It's always good to catch up w/ xc kids who have become wonderful adults.

am--5.5 Anasazi w/ a little Chipmunk w/ Tom. Talked about the density of life and ayurvedic astrology.

pm--3 Late neighborhood run w/ my softballing neighbor.

am--3.5 Nice run w/ Ben, chatting about the upcoming track season.
