"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka
"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

| | 3 miles - i spent 47:30 on the treadmill and covered 4 miles in that time because i was taking 1 to 2 minute walk breaks every few minutes, so i'm just logging 3 miles. workout felt good but mentally i just couldn't hack it, thus the walk breaks. i wanted to go at least 45 minutes because somewhere a long time ago i read that you needed to keep the heart rate up for at least 45 minutes to gain any cardiovascular benefit? or maybe it was to get an endorphin fix. anyway, this is the current state of my fitness. it is what it is. live to run another day.

| | 3 miles - pretty much the same workout as tuesday - 47 minutes on the treadmill with 3 miles run and one mile walked, but in a slightly more organized fashion: i walked a half mile than ran a half mile, walked a quarter, ran a half, walked a quarter then ran two miles. i finished four miles just under 45 minutes so i walked for a couple of more to get to 47 minutes.
quite a little quagmire of UN-fitness i've gotten myself into!
