Treadmill workout with jumping jacks, jump rope, plank jacks and squat jumps in between each 1/4 mile run.
There are two pains that won't go away. I might just have to walk for 30 minutes a day. Do yoga and eat strictly for a while. Guess I won't log here if I'm not running. I've had a really rough time since my marathon in Sept. I could name all of the excuses for why I've gained 10 lbs since that marathon but it all comes down to eating for me. I haven't cared. I haven't been careful about what I eat and I've fallen back into my old ways. A lot of things have kept me from running and my mind tells me I can't get back to that skinny self without running. I have to stop thinking that way because it's not true. I have complete control over this. It all comes down to what I eat! Get control Stacie! You can do it! Even if you can't run right now. I need to do it so that when I can run again I'll be ready.

21 Dumbbell thrusters, 10lb dumbbells I'm trying to decide if I should stop working out because I'm pretty sure I have Mortons Neuroma in my left foot and some pain that won't go away on my right shin, right below my knee :( I don't know if that MN will ever go away even if I stop working out. I don't know if I should just push through the pain or if I should stop it's just so hard for me to do nothing. All the jumping stuff hurts my foot (and running) and the squatting and lunging moves hurt my shin. Ugh. I guess I could do handstands and CFSU. I turn 41 and my body falls apart. Sucks. I don't want to quit cause I feel so strong since doing crossfit. Esp core strength. All the exercises work the core, well the whole body.

"Agree, fitness is great, but as usual too much of a good
thing isn't. There are obviously some Moms (and Dads) who take this
WAY too far, which is probably where the original article was coming
from. You don't have to run marathons to be fit, you don't have to
have a six-pack to be fit, and you don't have to spend significant
amounts of time exercising when you could be bonding with your kids to
be fit.
Kids are a big commitment and require A LOT of attention both in quality
and quantity, and I'm not sure some parents really take that seriously
enough. Good hobbies have to be cut back and in some cases temporarily
abandoned. Fitness needs to happen, but a parent's first priority
needs to be their kids not knocking ten minutes off their last Ragnar
time." SO I trained for my first marathon when my 5 th child was almost a yr and it was the perfect time for me and my family. I also did the majority of my running early morning and Sat my husband was with the kids. My kids were so impressed that there Mom ran a marathon and so was I! And the Ragnar comment made me laugh. My only desire, and I think other runners feel the same, is to set a PR for a half or full marathon (or 5k, 10k), not for RAGNAR. That race is just for FUN right?? Just my opinion. REAL Awesome amazing runners on here don't even run Ragnar.

Tues Crossfit Mama WOD! 14+14=28 (14 minute workout) 10 rounds boy pushups. So if you don't want to read below, I did over 100 pushups and situps with some resting in the beginning ;)
With a continuously running clock, do one sit-up and one push-up the
first minute, two sit-ups and two push-ups the second minute, three
sit-ups and three push-ups the third minute... continuing as long as
you are able.
When you cannot complete the required number of reps for either
exercise, continue only with the other as long as you are able. For
example, if you are on minute 6 and you do your 6 sit-ups but only get
to 4 push ups and then minute 7 starts, you just start over and do your 7
sit-ups without the push-ups until you can no longer do the sit-ups
required within the minute.
Use as many sets in any order each minute as needed. So switch it up within the minute if you want/need to.
The WOD is over when you keel over. ;)
Post number of minutes successfully completed for EACH exercise to
comments. Their sum is your score. For example: 15 minutes of push-ups + 20
minutes of sit-ups = 35 (20 minute total workout)

Total workout time was around 40 minutes. I need to stop sleeping in a run longer outside in the am. Jane starts back at cheer on Monday so that's when it'll happen. Holiday and One Direction concert will make for late nights this week. It's SO hot! I've been taking the girls on bike rides every night around sunset. We saw the moon come over the mountain last night! Gorgeous!

I was going to turn and go down to home but I ran up past the school so I could run the length of the flags. I got goose bumps. It was dark and quiet, just me and all the flags. | | 6 with Jane on the parkway. We ran out 3 miles and back starting at 123rd. At around 1.5 miles we ran into the end of the SOHO marathon! It was so cool to see them all finishing! I kept telling Jane how awesome this was and I kept cheering everyone on that we passed. I even saw Rachel from the blog and called out her name. We saw the 4:15 pacer and then later the 4:30 pacer (she was all alone) and then we turned around to come back. I was embarrassed that people thought we were marathoners. I kept saying we're not marathoners and then, i am a marathoner but not today! Anyway, that was cool. I got goosebumps as we passed people on their way to finishing. I know how bad it hurts but what a great accomplishment it is. Good job marathoners!
