| Was feeling hills today, so I went up the canyon 5 miles and turned back. Lots of fun. Longer runs are my favorite. I think when i'm older I will probably be doing 10k's and half's, and maybe a few full marathons. Super pumped to race again, which will only be in a week and a half! Still a bit off, but I am going to do both the mile and the 2 mile. Want to get under 4:55 and 10:45.

| We had practice at 8 this morning, and I had some blood drawn at about 7:25. I still went to practice, and it sucked. I should have waited until tonight to run. The run was super boring because it was on roads the whole time. I migth run more later if I feel better.
Ryan said that I can do the timp trail half at the end of may! It's an extremely slow course, as you gain almost 3,000 feet during the run, and it's pretty technical in spots. Only 13 guys did that half marathon last year, and if it's like that this year, I should have a good chance of winning! My uncle is doing it too, so it will be a blast!
4 later. I felt really good. When I run twice in the same day, it's weird how different I feel sometimes. Averaged a 6:05.

| super fun run today. It was half adventure run half regular. We started out doing hobbit hole, which Josh E. has never done before. We then went on the black trail and turned towards Lehi Dip. By this time is was only craik, lil' warner, seth, josh E., and me. We ran through some good sized dirt piles while lil' warner told us all about stuff we didn't really have any interest in. We ran through a backyard and the house next door had a few small dogs that started to chase us. Small dogs are the scariest. We sprinted through the backyard only to come to a dip 6-8 feet deep with a river in it. We all jumped down and crossed the river, I didn't even get my shoes wet! We then went through the field with the longhorns in it. Then we ran back to Legacy and stood around for 30 minutes and talked. Learned some useful and interesting stuff about patos. Fun stuff. I might run more later.
When I say later, I usually mean in the evening, but I had nothing to do so I went 2 hours after I got home from practice. After waking up from a 45 minute nap feeling very refreshed I ran a little past mountain ridge and back. Not the most exciting run, but the extra miles were hurting, and that's a good thing ( not the injured hurt, the usual hurt). 5.9 miles total, 7:12 average pace. Last 2 miles were around 6:10 pace, and they were uphill.

| Rough workout today. 5x800 with first 400 at mile pace, the next lap 1-2 seconds faster. I really struggled on these, and i'm not sure why. On the last one Katie had us split the last 800 into 2 400's because nobody was hitting their times. I will run more later, because tomorrow i'm leaving early in the morning to go skiing at Brighton, and I will be super tired afterwards and I still want to hit at least 55 miles this week. And i'm only in 79 place for miles this year on the blog... That needs to go up. And galen is like 7 miles ahead of me. I need to put at least 75 miles on him before I leave for new york. I only ran 126 miles in January because of being sick and whatnot, but in February I ran 200 and March 218. I'm in like 25th right now for the month which is good. I want ot be hitting double digits everyday, and I feel like I can w/out injuring myself again. But it's track season, and with all the interval workouts, I shouldn't be doing much more than 55 miles a week. In June before I leave, I will be hitting 60-70 miles every week, because even though I will have a month off after that, I still want to hit my goal of 2015 miles this year.

| Another bad workout for me, 8x400. I need to race, because I don't have anything to be motivated about. Ice bath up the canyon after cooldown.
I've decided to not run anymore besides at practice unless I miss practice that day. I've been running a few too many miles, at least for me. This last week i've been working my butt off, and saturday night and sunday I was completely exhausted. Ryan has a program to help us to the max, and to help us peak at the right time and stuff. It puts us in the high 40's and low 50's during the track season. 71 miles is too much. Until summer...

| easy run down to the stop sign at art dye. Tomorrow i'm going to hit a solid distance run 8-9 miles, then on saturday a 10-12 mile trail run, so maybe Hogs. I am going to Brighton again on saturday, cuz my family somehow keeps getting free tickets. I will probably go running early in the morning on saturday because i will be to tired to run far after skiing all day.
I'm never playing tag again until winter. I've got poison ivy again. If the team plays tag, I will just go for a distance run, which is what we're supposed to be doing.

| Hogs early in the morning. I pushed it super hard on the uphill, not much on the downhill. Good training run for the trail half marathon i'm gonna do at the end of may.
I went to Brighton today, and my filling that was on my front tooth came off again just like it did at Nike. I have to wait until monday to get another on, so I to go to church tomorrow looking like a freaking doofus.
I want to race so freaking bad.

| Ran on bonneville today. I didn't do good at all. Felt terrible and couldn't breathe for some reason. I don't get it. I've been working my butt off these past few months, and I have seen nothing but negative results. My workout times are terrible, I can't keep up with the fast guys for as long, nothing's going my way. I kind of feel like i'm not supposed to run. I've been running for almost 2 years and haven't had any real success. My parents are trying to get me to quit, among other things. Took an ice bath up the canyon afterwards, quite cold.

| I couldn't race today... again. Garbage. I'm starting if I ever will be able to again. I did the workout by myself that the fast guys did yesterday. it was 200,400,600,800,1200,400,400. I wasn't sure what the pacing was supposed to be at, but I ended up being pretty close. I felt amazing today and pushed it harder than usual. If only I could have raced with feeling as good as I did... Anyway, I hit 30,68, 1:51, 2:24, 3:57. 67,67. I;m really happy with this workout, I either hit the pace I was supposed to or faster, despite doing it by myself. I always seem to do better by myself. Maybe for my next race I should put my seed time in super slow, and just get to the lead and run my race haha.

| Good workout today. 3x(400,300,200). My times were 70,50,29,73,51,30,73,50, and either a high 27 or low 28. I wasn't happy with my last 2 400's, but besides that I did well. Ice bath up the river, found a good new spot right under the wall.

| Ran the timp trail half course in 2:02:46. I think I can go at least 15 minutes faster in the race.

I got a pair of spikes at ross for 8 freaking bucks. They are most definetily not the best spikes out there, but $8 spikes don't come around often, so I couldn't pass up on them.

| another tough workout for me. 400,300,400,300,400,300,400,400. I really struggled, and came in last on all of them. It is almost certain that I won't be able to race for the rest of the year. I just have no motivation. I've been running low on it ever since the LP Lehi duel meet, which is my only race this stinkin season and I did terrible there. There are only 2 positives that I have got so far this track season. I've become much better friends with the guys on the team, and I am hungry to race again. From now on i'm going to treat every race like it will be my last. I had very high goals my junior year, and none were achieved. My goals for the year were: make varisty for all of XC season, 16:45 3 mile, top 50 at state. Track- sub 4:45 mile, sub 10:30 2 mile, 2:07 800, and top 6 on the team for the 2 mile. I would have to be at 10:17 or faster to get that last one. I didn't achieve any of these. I want to make varisty extremely bad this next XC season, and things aren't going in my favor. By the way it looks now 3 guys will be fighting for that 7th spot, and both are faster than me at the moment. Our team can achieve great things this next season, and I will do everything I can to be a part of it. It's just not looking like I will right now.

| Well, I didn't know I would be racing until lunch time, and I knew I wouldn't do well today, because I ate a big lunch right before. For the warmup josh and I went in the 2 mile(which was the first event, went on the same time as the hurdles, for some strange reason). Molen then got mad at us and kicked us off after 3 laps. I treated the race just like a hard tempo, because I knew I wouldn't be able to get the time I wanted. It's good to get a race on my legs, because this weekend I am running the mile and the 2 mile at provo invite. I want to get 4:52 or under there, if i'm feeling good under 4:48. I could score, because I will be in the fast heat, and josh is the to seed in the mile. I want to be under 10:25 for the 2 mile, because i'm more of a 2 mile guy. I am go grateful I got to run today, it was a blast, even though I didn't do so hot.

| Just an easy run before racing tomorrow. We played some good whonketball, was a good time. Super excited to race tomorrow. It originally was the mile tomorrow, but i thinks it's actually the 2 mile then.
I ran a tiny bit more when I got home so I could say I ran 222.22 miles this month.
there are 20 people in front of me with seed times for the mile, so I don't think I will be in the fast heat which is a super big bummer. I will be in the top heat for the 2 mile though. There are actually some decent competition there, lot's of guys are in the 10:30 range which is where I want to be.
