Backpacked 18 miles in the uintas today for highb as dventure. Originally. We were staying up there till Wednesday, but when we got to camp everyone was absolutely freezing. It was pouring rain thw whole way up, and even getting into dry clothes didnt help. I was going to sleep in my hammock which wiuld have totally stunk cuz it ciuld have snowed there and it was super windy. So we decided to head back down. I felt like sawing my knees off on the way down. My knees could handle the way up, but going down tjey killed. We got back to the cars at midnight and got home at 2 in the morning

My knees dont really hurt today, which is a miracle. However, they are incredibly dtiff. Im going to spend most of the day just doing my stretches, icing and rolling out my megs. I think i ciuld be back at running the 2nd week school starts. Awesome core workout, i did t thy e 10,20,30,40,50x5, whuc bug was the first workout we did with Courtney. I cant come to xc camp for the whole time sadly, but i am going up ob thursday just to hang with the team which will be fun.

Later looked at all the new 5a teams and stuff. Alta is 4a now, which i didnt expect

Ive decided i dont like being injured. Im getting antsy to run again. Im icing my knees as i type this. Sick core workout. I need to do some kind of cardio. I miss breathing hard, which sounds really weird

yesterday I went up the canyon and spent the night with the team for the last night of XC camp. I'm really glad I went, because I kind of have been in denial of running for a bit, and now i'm super pumped for when I can start running again. When we talked about the team goals, that just got me really excited for this season. Now i'm going to stay off my knee as much as possible, and do every little thing to get it better as soon as I can. I haven't had a consistent racing season since cross country my sophomore year. Hopefully I can race all the regular season races this year.

My knees have actually been feeling pretty good these past few days. Today i went to this physical therapy dude and did some stuff with him. I go back on thursday, and he's going to have me go on the treadmill for a bit, which is a really good sign. I get my wisdom teeth out today. Should be a good time

knee feels really good again today, and I haven't been taking my medicine for it so that a very good sign. I could be running by the time school starts up in a week!!!

Just physical therapy stretches and icing my knees a lot again. They havent been hurting since saturday, which is awesome. Tomorrow i meet with my physucal therapy doctor and he's gonna have me go on the treadmill for a bit which is exciting.

Casey clinger went to the nike elite camp, something i didnt figure out until this morning.

Yay for me because ive lost 8 pounds since i got my wisdom teeth out. Hopefully i will lose about 5-10 when i start running again, since ive felt pretty fat lately

Session #2 of physical therapy today. Sadly, no running on the treadmill. My knee still feels pretty good, and I'm going in 3x next week,should go on the treadmill on all of those times. I won't be able to start running by the time school starts, but i will be able to soon after. Super pumped to start running again!!

I WENT RUNNING!!! Did one mile at physical therapy on the treadmill. Exciting stuff. My doctor dude said to go running later today, with 3 minutes running, 1 walking, x2. So nothing hard at all. I guess you could say i'm already doing 2 a days...

Did the "run" thing and it was a party. I was smiling the whole time and wasnt even trying too. Knee hurt a little bit,but thats expected. Pumped to start doing some real training starting hopefully next week!

Knee was hurting today so no run. Just the usual physical therapy stretches and icing. Utah has 4 guys ranked in the top 25 in the nation, Casey at 5, alek at 11, garek at 16, and McKay at 22. Personally, i think McKay should be ranked higher.

Just over a mile on the treadmill at physical therapy today, It actually felt really good. We'll see how I feel later tonight though. I'm at the point where i'm still not running to get back in shape, it's just to see how my knee reacts to it. Later the doctor dude dinged at my knee with this metal thing for a few miutes and it hurt like something else. It feels good now though. Apparently i have a lot of scar tissue lumps on my knee. Saw the team doing their workout on the way home and was pretty jealous that i couldn't be there doing it. Utah is ranked second in the nation for individuals, behind California. But thats adding top 7 times. But if you only add top 5(the correct way), we win nation by 8 points

Knee hurt a little but not much today!!! I'm not risking a run though. Just the same usual stuff, physical therapy stretches, icing and core, except i did go on a 10 mile bike ride, while throwing in some random sprints every bit. Felt really good to breathe hard. I should be able to partially start training next week, like running every other day.

Running stat of the day (this may or may not become a daily thing, should it?) - With all times altitude converted, Mckay Johns is the second fastest individual in the nation behind Drew Hunter. I took 800,1600,3200, and 5k times and added them all together. Austin Tamagno is in third, with Casey Clinger in fourth.

Half mile at physical therapy in the morning. My knee felt pretty good. The doctor said not to run till Wednesday, and then hopefully i will be cleared to run.

16 on the bike,good effort. Thighs were burning pretty well at the end. Physical therapy stretches and a solid core workout afterwards.

Super legit core workout because i couldnt go for a bike ride. It included 200 pushups, 250 crunches, 50 pullups, 5 minutes of planks and some other "fun" stuff. I cant lift up my arms now.

Only 1 mile today. On monday I'm going to run a harder 5k(effort wise), just to see where I'm at. Then i can set a goal for.wednesday at pre-region, which i will be racing at.
