| I signed up for this race because of the title and the low cost. First race postpartum and first race in Kansas. It started and ended at a college and we were able to stay inside before and after the race, which was on point because it was very chill outside. I was able to park next to the start/finish, so I waited in my car for the start minutes before the race started. Race was on a parkway trail, out and back. Figures I would be in the 1:40 range with this race and my fitness level. 7:40 pace seemed challenging but doable, so I tried to hang on as long as I could. I held until about mile 7 and then I was around 8 mm. Everytime I saw a "chocolate Rush" sign with an arrow, I ran faster to the chocolate waiting for me. At the turn around, I was the fourth lady. By mile 8 I caught up with number three and left her behind. The last mile and a half as kept falling behind. Last push was up a big hill into the wind. I was proud of my efforts. Finish line had THE spread of amazing goodies. I indulged and made my way home. David gave me the morning off from the kiddos. |

| I found this park in Alabama, it's called Shakespeare park. There are trails that go around it, totalling about 3 miles. I ran it about 4 times to total my 15 for today. Felt wonderful. | I ran the half today with the feeling I shouldn't. My left calf was bothering me. Went for a two mile warm up. Calf was bothering me but I figured I could "take it easy" Race started and there were a lot of runners. First two miles were up hill and my calf was not happy. I thought I was going to have to drop out. Kept going and started talking to an air Force inspector. We were going fast and I asked wayyy down. I figured I could make this a good training run. Around mile 6, we started running in the most heavenly neighborhood I have ever seen. The southern homes with spring blossoms made me feel like I was floating, or maybe it was my caffeinated gu? I picked up the pace around mile 9 and I passed a lot of people. 10 had a big hill and then it was a downhill finish. 3 miles of glorious downhill. Finished and my leg was not happy. I'll probably be off for two weeks. Yay |

| David and I ran a race in Lee's summit. Lots of people signed up, mostly 5k people. Naomi did a kids dash before the race and it was adorable to see her smile and run. Race course was a complete mess. Ran around a park with gravel and twists and turns every which way. I finished the first loop and then the 10k basically did it twice. Dodging walkers and runners. I felt bad for David because he was pushing the double stroller and the sidewalk was narrow and people were walking. We won't do that one again. They did give us a nice hoodie for registering. I won first for the 10k and I was proud of my time. Most of the race felt awful, but not in a bad way. I was able to hold my ground, dig deep and stay strong. Good race day. |
